ASICS Hyper Speed 4 | The Last Traditional Racing Flat???
I've had previous Hyper Speed models and I've always really liked them. Regarding this, the phrase from the video for me is: "Maybe it's not the softest shoe...." Great! That's enough for me! I'm absolutely tired of today's soft shoes, comfortable yes, but with terrible performance. If this one isn't that soft, this is the type of shoe I'm looking for!

Just bought version 3 last week for my daughter for her training at just USD52. What a bargain

The Hyperspeed 3 is the shoe I didn't know I needed in my rotation. I got rid of carbon plated trainers. I'm strictly using carbon plates for racing. Running on racing flats got me a little more sore than usual but that's to be expected. The body will eventually adapt. Please Asics do not stop making these. It is needed! The Hyperspeed 4 look a bit higher stacked maybe 1-2mm more than the Hyperspeed 3.
When are the gonna bring back the DS Racer? Best shoes ever, aside from the NB1500 v1 and adios 3. Loved those shoes

These are heat
Seems like a pretty niche shoe. Mostly for track work, and for the small % of folks who don't run faster in the squishy carbon supershoes.

for better or worse, Asics has been Americanized or more accurately Hokanized; this apparently including even Hyperspeed series :)
I have the 2 right now, and I fear it is the last real low stack shoe. Altra even added quite a bit of stack to their Escalante in the 4
Yes, while I appreciate extra foam, it doesn't mean all shoes have to be having high stack, specifically for those short speed day session

I know man. What's with this. They are all trying to ruin our feet. And make us weak. Even Hoka's Mach 5 went up by a whopping 8MM bro. The 5 was at the max stack I would go..... this is all so stupid 🙄 NB V4 are now at the same stack as the Mach 5, but I bet they will increase theirs too sooner or later......
@@garyhaber6957 it's crazy! The asics metaracer is a good flat too. But ya, obviously I'm not a fan of the trending bigger stack heights haha but it's not like I want to run barefoot either

Seems weighty. Something like the Adidas RC original was under 6 ounces. Missing that original Razor 3 feel shoe in my current lineup. It was 6 ounces and fast.

@@adamfeerst2575 My son has the Sinister and he's used it in a few track meets on rubber tracks. Not sure I'd pick that for a road race. The RC wasn't a snug track flat, it was a fine tuned, super light road shoe
I’m only interested in zero drop shoes. When you’re walking around your home or wherever in your bare feet, thats a zero drop. Artificially raising your heel relative to your forefoot is unnatural. You’re used to it, of course, because almost all the shoes you’ve ever worn have a raised heel. But it’s not how the body is designed.
