If you write for a 6% demographic and .1% of that demographic watches the show. You get what you wanted. Unemployment.

@@Norvik_-ug3ge Given that we're talking about a group of people that in the past would not have procreated at all, the demographic should be 0%. That is if they were actually born that way. Since it's just skyrocketing to insane heights, we can only reasonably conclude that it's a mental virus. It's at times like this that I miss the IMDB forums as I once read a thread in the Voyager forums where someone asked why there aren't more of such people in the future and the response from one user was "because they would have cured it by then". This is why homeschooling should be significantly more popular amongst those that want normal, healthy children.

BBC is publicly funded, so they don't need to worry about viewership. Disney theoretically _should_ care, but they are no longer interested in maximizing profit. They are satisfied with merely breaking even. After that, the only thing that matters is shoving The Message™ down people's throats.

Hey bub, I appreciate that sentiment!
However if you ever get the Urge to Really Relate, just enough to say "I watched a story or two to get an idea of what my Whovian friends Get about it.." I will Humbly Suggest 2 Stories, a few episodes each of Classic Who.
And Understanding your comment, it's not to try and turn you into a Fan. Just suggesting to watch a few stories to See the Quality of Storytelling and Maybe Enjoy it enough to look at your Whovian friends and be able to say..."I Get it now, still not a fan but I Totally Get it."
And I Promise, you'll get a few laughs out of it, wont be a Boring Time at all as long as you can forgive the Budgetary Restraints of the show and just focus on the story and characters, you'll have a good time.
Both are Tom Baker 4th Doctor stories and you can watch them for FREE on TUBI.
ROBOT (Tom's first appearance and story) and The TALONS of WENG CHIANG, a Victorian Era story.
And then I suggest NOTHING else.
Ok...One more from Tom's era, fit in between Robot and Talons. And that one is called The ARK in SPACE.
If yer up to it with Nothing else to do, give these 3 a go.
Reason, well I'm not a Shakespeare Fan per se, but I've seen adaptations for all the main works and enjoyed them for what they were, still not a fan either.
Respected, even admired, but not a fan.
      Hence why the suggestion.
These three stories Encapsulate the True Spirit and Embodiment of the character to which all Previous and Following Portrayals have been Weighed and Measured.
The same could be said of Tennant for the NuWho era as the Modern Embodiment for his era Prior to his Current appearance temp Regeneration.
Knowing Helps because it makes the All the Aspects of what's being Fought for All the More Clear.
And with these Free Classic episodes in Approximately 26 to 27 Minute increments makes watching them a Real EASY and Untaxing proposition when faced with some Boredom.
So if you get Bored in the next while and have a Half hour to spare, Watch an episode.
Baker is INFECTIOUS when it comes to his performance but his Dialogue is BRILLIANT in its delivery and Timing for retorts. Especially so in Talons where he's at his most sarcastic and condescending.
These all Help in Framing the Story up for Immersion and the Budgetary Issues kinda just Disappear after a while and become a Non Issue.
Again...Not trying to Sell you on the Show and convert you into a fan. Just Sharing the Notion of being on the same page of IP Understanding.
Like I Love some Anime and Despise Others.
I Love the One Piece live Action series on Netflix but I Can't Stand the original Anime.
      But I Understand Both versions.
Like if someone had Never seen a Superman film or show, knew of the character etc, Didn't wanna get Invested, become a Fan etc, but the Still Wanted to Understand the character and his story, what would You Suggest to Convey that to them?
For me it would be the Christopher Reeve movie as it Best Embodies the character and the series Lois and Clark really went into it. Smallville did similar just without Costumes sadly.
Anyways, again, it's just a suggestion.
Think of it as being apart of the Gathered Forces and a Veteran has just opened up a set of Weapons to Add to your Options Menu and Theres the Firing Range to Test them out and see if you like them.
IF you Don't then at Least as a Good Soldier, Know HOW to Use and Operate them and Can Share that same Knowledge to Others. And if you DO like them, then the Rest of That Specific Line has Several Makes and Models with Various accessories and Campaigns attached to them for perusal at your leisure.
Now, lol, that was Long...so in turn for taking the time to read this, make a Film or Series suggestion and if its available to me and I haven't seen it at least once already, I will watch whatever you suggest!

Got to say 73 Yards is the best of bunch so far. That said I would have preferred it later in season after getting to know Ruby better. This of course comes down to having 8 episodes only this season. This bring up another problem, which is: experiments with format is fine time to time, but if they fail or faill short they can be lost in the shuffle of a longer 13 episode season.

It seems like the people pushing "The Message"(TM) have learned that original programming they create with the message as its core gets poor ratings. So they hijack successful IPs, insert "the message" coupled with poor story and then poisons the IP. Star Wars and Star Trek were once beloved. People who can't communicate effectively tend to latch on to those that do know and end up ruining everything.

    - There was a much smaller population of people in the world (or the UK) sixty years ago than it is now. If you had 4 million people see the very first DW, that's pretty impressive when compared to now.
    - It's not a matter of celebrating if you have a certain number of people viewing the show or not; it's about what it could be if they weren't insulting the audience and alienating them from watching your show. In other words, DW could have WAY more viewers than ever before.
    - DW has shown a much higher number of people watching it in the past than it does now.
There's no way to argue around it or spin it. Touching grass is more entertaining than DW.
