    My go-to has been the Assault hand climber.
    I’d like to see them make the same model in this material even if it only shaves a pound or two.
    I also have the .5 with Tetherd Sticks. Great option.
    Climbers are great if you know of THE tree and its strait.
    Otherwise IMO, you’re better off with sticks and a platform or a
    Saddle…..
    One thing I’d suggest is a lineman tether in the event you go ass over tea kettle backwards….and a sharp pocket knife &/or plan to cut free…….

    Thanks, great review, only climbed with this stand once & can say it is more quiet than the original LW sit & climb, lighter, easier to pack & carry. A bit smaller but overall, an improvement.

      @@underdogoutdoors yeah they definitely minimized everything and sacrificed comfort to have a lightweight ultimate Mobile set up. I love it those initially can’t wait till the fall to really put it through the rigors

    They overlooked the price at $1000.
    They take material off the original change a couple things call it innovated and custom amd charge 3xs more then other climbers. Imo it dont make sense to use kess material and charge a ton more money.

      @@stephensheldon8396 not quite. This is machined aluminum not cast aluminum. It’s stronger and lighter. But also machined into shape. Takes way more cost, tooling, and labor to make this. But it’s not for everyone, but for those looking for the ultimate lightweight mobile climber setup it’s worth the money cause it ain’t like I can mage one of these but I definitely want one.

    • @stephensheldon8396

      @THEWOODLANDPURSUIT so because it's machined it costs 1000? Come on don't be so nieve. They build them for maybe $250

      @@stephensheldon8396 I know from talking to them it cost 600 something to produce one. That’s their cost! Just be lucky the are direct to consumers with no middle man cause then they would be even more then the $1099 msrp they are asking

      @THEWOODLANDPURSUIT the price is up there but as you mentioned, this is a very long term investment into your hobby of hunting. If the Lord's willing, in going to order the ranger hybrid.

    I’ve been hunting with a summit open shot for about 16yrs now and I’m needing a new stand. The 1 thing that’s very appealing to me is the sit and climb bar on it but the thing that I worry about is if I’ll be comfortable in it. I’d hate to pay 1000$ for something and not use it lol

    • @THEWOODLANDPURSUIT
      @THEWOODLANDPURSUIT  3 месяца назад

      I definitely hear that! I had a summit open shot. That seat is amazing!! You will definitely be sacrificing comfort switching to this stand! But for me the benefits of a super light stand out weight comfort. Plus you could always just use the base alone, ditch the top and run a nice saddle for longer sits. I personally only hunt 4-5 hours stretches. Ba k in the day when we made are own stands we didn’t even have seats and had to stand up the whole hunt so for me any seat is a good seat

    Anyone using this stand that has used the old Lone Wolf sit and climb? Wondering how they compare. I’m just not seeing much improvement. And it certainly doesn’t look as comfortable. Not downing the stand at all. Just curious.

    • @THEWOODLANDPURSUIT
      @THEWOODLANDPURSUIT  3 месяца назад +2

      they deff don't compare. I have the sit and climb wide and now this. These two stands are very different. This stand is built to be light weight, efficient, and functional. It is meant to get in and out quick and quiet and move often if needed. comfort is deff sacrificed to get a top performance stand that is meant to help the hunter kill not nap. the quality of this stand is way superior then the old stand. but it just depends on what you are looking for personally as a hunter. Some guys are ladder stand guys and some are public land mobile guys. nothing wrong with either, but this stand is deff for the mobile guys that grinds hard and goes where the bucks are and changes areas when the are on the move following them to hell and back.

      I bought a lone wolf climber five years ago. I resisted hang ons and sticks. It’s a mistake imo. I believe climbers are a pain. I have a million stories to back it up that could fill a chapter of a book. You can hang and hunt with today’s mobile setups faster, more efficiently and in way less ideal trees. One hack I started using with my climber was using one stick offset and starting the climber above it. It gets you higher before the platform starts to pitch down. It also saves you if you have trouble working the stand down at the end of your hunt. When the strap gets tighter I have actually been four feet off the ground and could not get the stand down anymore. I literally have had to jump from the platform more than once. The single stick approach has eliminated that situation.

    • @THEWOODLANDPURSUIT
      @THEWOODLANDPURSUIT  2 месяца назад

      @@richstafford1245 yeah I’ve been hunting climbers since the early 80s when we used to have to make our own. Nowadays we are spoiled with so many options. I think what you hunt now definitely depends on the ground your hunting. Climbers, hang ons, blinds, saddles, or whatever, there is not one best choice. Each offers benefits and negatives. Plus personal choice and style plays a role in it too. I definitely love climbers, hang ons, and saddles so now it’s a race till fall to see which I use most

      Interesting video. I have the old hand climber. Used it forever and love it. Looks like they reversed the way the rubber bands fit the tree. Your vid has it the old way I think? I might be missing something though. First I’ve seen of this system. Vids from mfg have ribs out which seems weird to me.

    • @Slickheadhunter

      @@TrapperDavidothe new stand has the band with the bumps out and it doesn’t matter, it’s only there to hold it on the tree, it has nothing to do with security.
