  • Tutu kueh is a Singaporean steamed rice flour cake, usually filled with ground coconut or peanut. Unlike most tutu kueh hawkers, this family makes their tutu kueh from scratch with a 70-year-old rice flour machine personalised by Mr Tan, the owner of the stall. Having been in this trade for 50 years, he is now ready to pass the baton on to his son.

I love tu tu kueh since young and have tried tu tu from different stalls. This uncle's tu tu is hands down THE BEST in Singapore. Hope his son will continue his business so we are able to eat his tu tu for many more years to come.

As a Malaysian, I was so confused why putuh piring was called tutu kueh, but now I realize that it's just cultural differences and it's honestly really nice to see it :>

From what i know, putuh piring uses different flour. Putuh piring too soft will break easily. Tutu Kueh very compact and will not break apart.

The really good stuff has to be hand made. The makers have to go the extra mile. There's no substitute.

for some reason tutu kueh/ popiah typed food is freaking expensive.. come on, its like few grams of flour and filling, 50cents each? even if considering inflation, their ingredients in bulk cost at most few cents for multiple kuehs.. profit margin to the max..

I have been supporting them since I was young! My mum or dad would get this as an afternoon snack for me. I always know something is different from the taste of their kueh tutu . I am today’s years old when I found out they make the flour and fillings from scratch. 🥹 roasting peanut, getting the right consistency for the flour. Now that I am no longer staying in the west I still miss this and will always drop by to buy when I visit the wet market at Jurong. ❤ Thank you so much for the effort I will always support you and yah n you for the next generation for continuing this craft👏🏼🥲.
