Greetings. A small explanation: The inventor of Werner, Rötger "Brösel" Feldmann, was a plumber trainee in his youth and made some comics, which portrayed his time back then. So Werner is a plumber trainee under his Plumber Master Walter Röhrich, who is nearly a 1:1 portray of his former master (and also: Nearly every craftsman could tell similar stories about his former master). Because of his age, Röhrich was probably a WW2 Soldier at the eastern front and feared the russians (the movie is from 1990 but probably plays in the 70's). The other guy, Eckat, is already an experienced worker and one rank higher then Werner, but still under Röhrich in ranks. Werner is a bit anarchich and mostly more interested to hang around with the other members of his biker club. Eckat is mostly loyal to their Master, but still likes to gossip behind Röhrich's back. Röhrich is experienced but totaly chaotic, when it comes to craftsmanship. Everytime, he wants to do something on his own, the audience (and Werner and Eckat) knew, it's gonna go south from that point on^^
Amazing to find werner beinhard on your channel. We baby boomer boys from the north laughed in the 80ies a lot with werner. We shared the same attitude to screwing around on motor bikes, suffered from cold war military duties and were fed up from ww2 memories of our teachers and masters (thats what the "the russians are here" joke is about). The Werner Movie was published in 1990, too and of course for German people in this time it was for decades a big fear.
Although Germany is so small, there a re many german accents in each region another one. So beneath the standard german language you may find people speaking German with really heavy accents. The accent from the movie is taking place in the north and can be well understood even by people who can not speak it. But the more you move to the south the accents can become so heavy that standard german speakers even will not be able to understand the regional accent. This will go so far that some accents are really can be seen to be a language on their own, like Kölsch (spoken in Cologne) or Bayerisch (spoken in Bayern).
