One of the best nugget garage vids I’ve seen in a long while. And the father, son addition made it even better to watch. Plus, the boy was more helpful and mature than Chris 😂
Made me remember my late dad teaching me about cars and engines in his auto shop. Loved the patience you have with him. His look of approval from you from the TB rev was real sweet. Well done Dad.
Oh wow, what a lovely barn find ! 😍 About 15 years ago a friend had a white one of these, a bone stock Swift GTI 16V, and that thing was pretty quick for what it was. Lightweight and happily revving like crazy, was a very fun daily driver. ☺👍
Would be mad to see you put some hoffnes into that swift bigger turbo etc see what you can get out of it. Was one of my first cars I ever modded cams etc. Still got a soft spot for them
I’m so excited about the swift, I had a couple of GTi’s when they were new back in the day. The thing I love about them is they are pretty much bulletproof. Thanks for the channel, Suzuki’s rule👍🇯🇵
Loved my 91 swift gti, ss-gti chip, srd cams+verniers, janspeed 4-1 and system, revved to 9k used to smash most modded 106 gti/saxo vts’s!….My mate had a budget built t28 turbo, stock engine, 550 injectors, Walbro 255, greddy emanage made 230bhp! Died due to rot the same as many 😢
What you have there looks like an AVO turbo kit from the 90s on the swift. It also has a Cultus inlet manifold made from tubing not cast alloy. I bought my swift new in 94 i still have it 😅
C'mon up the swift! Leave it 98 and keep it to its era. Still remember a bright orange around my area with a massive doof and a flutter on every change.
these buggers used to be EVERYWHERE in the 2000s (cos it was the cheapest new car you could buy) fast fours and rotisirie chickens mag used feature one a month with cosworth bonnet vents, simmons wheels and many subs in the boot. jamie bezzina used to have the wildest one: turbo AND 4wd. big deal back in the 2000s as he had to cut the awd chassis out to make it work.
@@ShaunDavis-jl6fr , thats it. You’re right, it wasn’t even a bloody GTI was it. Always made me shake my head how much some pf those guys spent on MR Lancers and Barina’s. Could’a bought an EVO and stillhad $100k for mods.
Suzuki swift gti 's are mad fun and only weighing 900kgs. I had a black one with mild cam and four in one exhaust. It would beat new 2018 commodores and rev easily to 9000rpm! Gearboxes didn't last though.
lol @ top fuel mie sticker. really interested to see how this thing turns out, especially with all the old gear. by the sounds it was hitting the surge line coming onto boost but whats with the weird wavering on decell after a pull?
And it's cool to see the kid interested in your trade! Can't ask for much more than that 😊 I'm sure you'd rather he go be a doctor or something though 😂
AVO down in Victoria made turbo kits for these back in the 90s which looks like where that turbo manifold and intercooler came from. I bolted one up to my GTI swift, was a fast little car for the time, the gearbox and clutch didn’t like it though😅😅

Not a high bar to surpass 😂
@@lilphill577 😂😂😂
I like your teaching style.
Not spoon feeding the boy answers and prompting him to think

Good to see you’re still using the little truck👍🏻

I so wish I had a Dad like that growing up. Awesome vid!
Australia the country where a barn find looks like it just came out of a showroom with a little wash
Another great video mate so glad to have some content coming from you, hopefully see more ov ya in the new year
The Suzuki is a great little piece of history, fantastic seeing your son onboard for the build 💯
Great seeing the young takka getting his hands dirty Hoff, parenting done right!
Scott surely you saw the bubbling when you were filling the Radiator yeah?!
I picked up a new swift with the turbo engine, it’s so fun and old school feeling
Keen to join your challenge Hoff.. i have a FWD VAgwagon that would make for a good race , let us know the go in the New Year 🤘🤘
Love it, quality father and son time, look forward to next year

Jamie bezzinas 4wd turbo one in the 90s was on another level. Go the GTI
Man I would have loved to jump into a wrong wheel drive challenge! You know what platform I would use. Bummed I won’t be around. Have fun with it.
C'mon up the swift!
Leave it 98 and keep it to its era.
Still remember a bright orange around my area with a massive doof and a flutter on every change.
Always enjoy the updates, great to see the young fella getting his hands in there too.
Man Swift GTi was the tits back when I was in Highschool, great to see this kinda stuff again :)
That swift is a cool little throwback...just needs that motec exhaust system 🤨🤣🤣
My 1st car was a Swift GTi, awesome reving motor but flimsy interior...also went through 3 gearboxes lol
Merry Xmas and Happy New Year!
Nice to see the family getting into it , great video. Keep it up
Awesome.
Mate this is deadset a bloody great video.

What was the woggy one that got $250k spent on it and used to win all the Sexspec shpws?
@@playwme3 probally same one...
@playwme3 that was actually a baring...dude was in a nappy and had wheelie bars on it

see if we can get near 300 :D
should get that to the wheels ground easy for cheap
Nugget garage, the new improved Skid Factory
I hope 2024 brings you all the stuff and things you could wish for.
the flexing of the engine bay was an amusing site to behold
That looks like Craig Griffiths old swift. Was a little beast
Thought i was watching a Hardware Unboxed video for a second there.....
Lol I caught that music too 😂
Now those are some great little nuggets you've got there, I bet the Swift will be a right riot to hoon around in
Damn. Haven't seen a gti swift in years, they were little rockets! But it isn't a 4ag.... hahaha
Nice one Scott :) this was excellent to watch.
Thanks
great stuff looking forward to some cheap stuff racing.have a great new year.
That model Suzuki Swift, is a rarer gem these days. Cleaned up alright.
Nice to see the young lad wrenching…
Yeah nuggets....
wait, this is not a corolla, I am confused :)
Have a great year hoff. Bring the kids along
I have always liked them standard

Happy new years legend 🎉
Just keep the Gti below 300whp or else you'll end up with a 2 piece block LOL. (There were no knock sensors or provision for on Oz delivered g13b's)
Needs more boost! I drove it as a daily running 20psi
Ok will do lol.
This gives me a reason to get mine out of the shed
Would it be worth putting a coolant pressure sensor in the Suzuki to see if it’s pushing cylinder pressure into the coolant?
I am pretty sure it has a cracked or corroded head, just in denial because lazy
That swift is about double what it was stock
That swift interior looks like there should be a monster tacho, maybe there has been 😆
All the very vest for 2024!
Reminds me of my gt starlet 20yrs ago 😂
lol @ top fuel mie sticker.
really interested to see how this thing turns out, especially with all the old gear.

Man I love those things, cool colour!
Good to see you again! I hope you had a great holiday season

Yeh the 90’s
Have you still got the nice rotary Corolla?
Always wanted a swift gti almost swaped one for my n14 sss. But typical boostcruising no show lol
That’s a mint little hatch
Tony would be drolling. LOL. NUGGET VS The Squirrel
They were the fastest cars a young driver could afford insurance for thet and the Citroen ax gt
The closest Suzuki made to a bike engine for a car. Good for 300hp stock
welcome back to nugget unboxed
Flashbacks to parramatta rd Croydon Autosports.
I meant vic rd
Has the ke26 gone?
Great video! Bring on the fwd challenge!
Crikey! Is this the Suzuki I saw in the second shed after I baked a cake a few years ago?
Get a Subaru justy 4x4 and swap the engine into that get 1.6 60fts and 11.s with a small turbo kit
All the best for 24 chap, take it easy.
Hey i love you the 1uz stuff
Love to see that engine in a little Suzuki sierra.
With over 200hp, this thing is going to need traction control 2/3 of the track.
Love ya work scott
Blue Swift's FTW :D
Gti runs like a
Sewing machine 👍
Hey mate, is your shop air con?
Might have to dust off the mirage and come chop ya
This is a great video!
That honda just needs a maxpeeding gt30, elite 750, vtec killers, fuel pump and then youre in trouble
Love the Suzuki. Thats right in my league.
Good episode hoff. Is the young fella into driving ?
Maybe get him a jr licence and some hot laps of QR.
That’s my dream car I would love that
YEAH THE SWIFT!
I'm up for a FWD challenge! *looks at my engine that's been in pieces for 5 years*
Sorry mate, but the integra with turbo kit will gap the swift
AVO down in Victoria made turbo kits for these back in the 90s which looks like where that turbo manifold and intercooler came from.

Count us in for wrong wheel drive, I think we've secured a car

An Integra? Uh-oh, here come all the yanks in the comments talking about "1000 wheel, bro"...
I dunno it's a stock 300,000k engine with China turbo, only hoping for 350hp max
your videos use to be interesting
