That mud and dirt is not from being sunk, it's normal dust accumulation that if not cleaned out turns to that material when oil leaks/grease drips/gets wet etc. It's crazy how much material builds up in these machines over the years

You made a good job of cleaning the machine up .. I use a Steam/Hot Wash cleaner for my plant ..it will save you so much time if you can invest in one .. well done 🇬🇧🇬🇧

I am sure you verified that the engine just isn't hydro locked by now. So your best bet is to remove the engine where you can fix whatever you find as the problem. I'll be watching this series for sure... Thumbs Up!

I'm working on a 1993 bobcat that's just as dirty. Pulled the fuel tank and it was so packed with dirt and grease that it deformed to tank.

The machine getting filthy, is not a problem if the operators have a little competition. they keep their machine clean. The winner keeps his job

I have a 252 that was badly neglected before I got it. I spent probably 20hrs or more cleaning out the belly. Just chipping away at the rock hard muck. Id hit a piece and think, that’s definitely part of the machine, only to find out it wasn’t lol. It was so bad. Definitely doesn’t need to be sunk to fill up like that. It hasn’t even been a year since I cleaned mine, put about 100hrs on it since then and I had the cab up a few weeks ago and it was filled with dirt again. It’s something you have to do every year.

I would be so fucking pissed if that’s how my employees were treating my equipment. I have plenty of experience in dirty equipment. But holy hell that was a first. What I see in my job is a lot of grass clippings that will build up around hydraulic fittings and cause them to rot. Which isn’t always fun to fix. Also eats away at valve bodies and hydraulic motors. Keep your shit clean fellas.

I have been a heavy diesel mechanic for almost sixty years and the first thing that I learnt was to clean off every thing before you start to pull it apart, you and your tools stay cleaner and no shit gets inside.
