Hey peeps! Some thoughts on this one, in case you're thinking of taking it into DLC: -The biggest weakness it has for DLC potential is being low on Vigor at the start. If you were taking this straight into the DLC, I'd probably want another 10 levels in HP at least. You could easily take those out of INT or Faith without sacrificing too much or just go in at a higher level. You could also Min/Max a little more by cutting down the weapon list. If you weren't fussed about Sacred Relic or Bastard's Stars, there's 7 Levels back straight away through their high dex requirements. The more I think about it, the more going into DLC closer to RL150 makes sense, and if you're doing that, it's not an issue anyway. - The biggest strength is it's versatility. While there's not a massive selection when it comes to pure physical damage or bleed, you have literally all of the best attacks for Frost, Lightning and Fire damage, as well as the best ranged and melee attacks in Elden Ring. - There are many damage buffs I missed out on for the sake of fashion, and not having this video be 3 hours long. Dual Burger King helm for INT, Snow Witch hat for frost etc, and maxing out all the melee weapons. So this build still isn't completely optimised. - It's worth noting that INT weapons benefit more from an INT/Faith Build than Faith ones. For example, in the late game, the Blasphemous Blade on this build does similar damage to what it would in New Game on an optimised 80 Faith build. However, the Death's Poker would do far more damage than a standard 80 INT build because, in addition to having (nearly) 80 INT, it also has Howl of Shabriri and Golden Vow to buff it. So you can continue scaling your damage on the INT based weapons above 80 INT by levelling Faith for the extra buffs. Hope you enjoy the vid!
@@SmappyBabbles I wouldn’t recommend ng+ for the dlc personally because it’s gonna be scaled to regular new game and this build would take hours of grinding for enough runes outside of ng+ and be too strong for the dlc Imo
@@Smnsnsnsn yeah, that's fair! That's partly why I was hoping to tweak this build so it would work better for the DLC. I mostly want to capture the spirit of this build as closely as possible. The spell and incantation versatility, frost procs with fire resets ect. I'll probably end up using carian slicer or SONAF until weapons like wing of astel, deaths poker, and dark moon are accessible later, (or whatever goodies I want to try out in the DLC). I just wanted to hear fishy's take :)
It was really good, but if you haven't seen any of the videos Nizar GG does, I highly recommend checking them out if even just for the entertainment factor. He has mad editing skills as well.
That intro was top tier. That Death Bird in the snow field was a pain in the butt. I tried cheesing that thing so many different ways, but not the way you did. Definitely giving it a try soon!
Tip for the Ulcerated Tree Spirit in Haligtree: you can use Agheel's Flame to cheese it from the branch. Just bring all the blue flasks and fire buffs (and Mimic Tear helmet if you need the Arcane) you can get your hands on, you're completely safe up there if you stand on the fork of the branch.
I have beaten that Tree Spirit from that branch with all kinds of projectiles! Stone of Gurranq, Black Flame, Night Comet and the List goes on. As long as you can reach it from there it's a winner (don't forget to change to more blue flasks).
Quick note-of-thanks to say I deleted Malenia, that part time Victoria Secret supermodel and full time night terror (with her 33 K health bar a-and self-healing!) thanks to your load out of Faith-knot and Faith-shrouding Physick with Blasphemous Blade. I was trying Moonveil and Death's Poker, two worthy competitors, and I had beaten her with Moonveil 2 and a half years ago (with Mimic's cooperation). But, bullying her with Blasphemous Blade plus your Physick recipe had her gone in no time. Keeping her on the ground (mostly). Malenia, together with the Consort who must not be named are the two hardest boss's in Elden Ring, at least for me. Your video contains tons of helpful and fun info and helped a lot!
So, your last video inspired me to do a full platinum run, started with a pyromancer/madness for Flame of Frenzy ending and evil playthrough, transitioned to strength for NG+ which ended up as a Marais build. This was AWESOME and the first time I've ever solo'd Malenia. I'm doing INT/Faith for my NG+2 Age of Stars run, glad this video came out on time for me to bring some of it into it! PPS: would love to see some more Dark Souls 3 builds from you, I never finished it and I want to get back to it.
I’m using it in the DLC, absolutely crushing through 2/3rds of it and I’m bad at games. Elden Ring is my first From game so I’m no veteran. SONAF got de-nerfed some and is very viable and fun. Even with the prior nerfs I got through much of base endgame with it. Whatever they did after that, I appreciate :)
amazing video fishy, your build guides are always so fun to make in the actual game itself. Never stop doing what you enjoy. I appreciate all of these guides as they bring a huge spark to my experience in elden ring. You’re amazing
My level 180 SONAF INT/Faith (50 each) was so much fun. All the buffs, all the spells, and a weapon you can customize to focus on fire or magic damage type depending on who you're facing.
Yeah, it's ridiculous. The D scaling is slightly misleading when it comes to the weapons true potential. Like Blasphemous, the Ash of War scales exclusivey with magic (INT for DP, Faith for BB). So if you were running either as a standard melee R1/charged R2 weapon, they wouldn't be great, but set either up as an AOW only weapon and they destroy everything. Thanks for watching!
I'm also playing a int/faith build on NG+ and its by far my most favotite useing both sorceries and incatations. Best of both worlds. Death and magma sorceries are awsome btw.
Still watching, and will edit, but what is that horn thing in your quick pouch @ 19:19? 27:08!!! No Comet Azur Cheese. How could you 😂 But nah, FR this was an absolute treat to watch! The humour was on point, fantastic editing, insane OPness. Loved it man, can really see the passion in this one 👍
Haha! It was either that or SONAF and I've already done a SONAF guide🤣. The mystery item is just the ER practice tool (JohnDisandonato). Always have it on to get around faster while filming. Whenever it's active, it replaces Torrent's whistle with a cut content item (I assume so it would be obvious if anyone tries to cheat runs with it). Really glad you enjoyed it, mate! Always feel a little out of my depth on NG+ guides but this one felt felt ridiculous throughout.
fun fact: you can actually get 3 charged R2's off on Radagon with both Iron balls and star fist without having to tank dmg since you can roll just in time to avoid the stomp
I tried to watch this last night, while I was making our dinner and doing the washing up but I'm unable to multitask. And as an actual old man I was tucked up in bed by 9pm. Excellent viewing with a cup of tea in bed in the morning though!
Another fun accessory to this (I had a character with all the stuff and went into NG+ with your setup that was a bit higher level, so I had some stat points to play with) is to level both the great stars you can get in a single run and then equip them with chilling mist AOW. You can find a few lost ashes along the way, and some of the merchants sell them. I also duped flaming strikes for magic resistant bosses. Put on the claw talisman, rotten winged sword insignia, erdtree's favor +2, and whatever you prefer for the final slot. I've been switching between the magic scorpion charm and the dagger talisman depending on the boss's health bar. I also equipped the raptor's black feathers armor piece for the damage buff. Get your frost buff on one of them outside the boss room, then cast any multi-hit spell (the phalanx spells are good for posture damage) when you first walk in to get the rotten winged sword going, and buff the second great stars with frost. Then jump attack at your leisure and riposte when offered. It's a hell of a good time. For Renalla, switch to flaming strikes and fire scorpion. You can get the whetblade in redmane castle to give it a flame art affinity that scales with faith. Another fun thing to do is equip one with either chilling mist or hoarfrost stomp and two-hand it, and have the other with prelate's charge in your off hand, and switch out the scorpion charm with alexander's shard. Proc frost with the first, then switch to the second for the reset, to proc bleed, and to regen some health if you got knocked around at all. This is even more ridiculous paired with the white mask and seppuku to get it going.
Wow! Reading this was wild. This is basically one of my go-to setups! I usually put Wild Strikes on one of them. That also helps with the attack up boost from the rotten wing.
Also fishy, for that tree avatar at the start of the vid, just turn around jump out of the arena onto the branch, and snipe cheese it. Completely free and easy.
Just bc I made it to the marika's soreseal part and I found it odd this wasn't mentioned for a specifically int/faith build, if you use an AOE healing spell next to one of the revenants it will automatically stagger them and chunk them for like 50% HP. Just in case anyone wasn't aware of that
"... or you create your own Gideon ..." - yeah, I can see why that might be a problem. Nice, everything's so nice, the build, the editing, and the commentary!
I've found that you don't really start feeling the extra boss health until like NG+5. And also it's crazy how strong they made the stackable buffs in this game lol
To open that rise with the imp statues. All you need is crystal darts. Throw them at one of them run around to the other side and aggro the other one run out to the front of the tower And they will fight each other and it opens.
Int/faith is ridiculously fun. After trying the one weapon per playthrough approach and ending up very unhappy with it I switched tactics to "whatever I feel like in that moment" and it works wonders for me. Then I went for the Death's Poker on a NG run because my other Ng+ cycles were starting to become hairy and omg I have never loved a weapon more. Its moveset is so fun? I never liked big bonks but this is the closest I've come and man does it feel good to use. And the built-in panic button is a nice bonus for when an enemy annoys you so much you just want to press a button to delete them. 11/10 am now married to this weapon.
Int/Faith buils are a blast, lore themed build called the "Empyrean Shadow" that focuses on black flame and frost sorceries and it was a blast, it's just kinda of a shame that frost and fire cancel each other out
Damn, you have no idea, how often your voice sends me to sleep. I never play any of your builds, because they make it too easy, but I love your videos, your creativity, your style and presentation.
My first build was INT (glass cannon mage), second build was INT/FAITH, now i am doing a FAITH/ARCANE build. I like int faith the most so far, but the dragon incantations are pretty fun too.
I tried doing this a while ago but it got to be too annoying to switch between the staff and seal since I was also using a weapon. I just found out that the DLC Staff “Staff of the Great Beyond” can cast any spell in the game, sorceries and incantations, I’ll admit to a lesser amount of damage, but it’s way more convenient to just use one thing lol. I don’t ever use magic but this is just like that one chime in Dark Souls 2 that did the same thing and I loved it
I haven’t watched this yet but I made an int faith build as Gandalf and it was insanely powerful. Gandalf’s powers would be straight out of the faith category.
11:15 I used the deathpoker build in one of your earlier videos. I'm still melting most of the bosses at NG+7, so I'm inclined to think this weapon really is that busted.
For the first tree spirit, I just range attack it from the safety of the log that you use to jump down to it cuz close range is just cancer, especially when I rl1 to it, kukri, fan dagger, and regular throwing dagger saved me so much mental exhaustion XD
If you're trying this build, consider using Sword of Night and Flame or Sacred/Flame Art Clayman's Harpoon, as these are the only (pre-DLC) weapons with decent INT & FTH scaling. And no, Erdsteel Dagger doesn't count; any INT scaling you add tanks the AR too harshly.
On 24:23, that jump is harder than beating any boss in this game lol. Everytime I try to jump like that, I'm literally dead. 150+ hrs spent in the game, haven't discovered the right solution yet lol.
Great guide man! Really been enjoying trying out your builds. A little off topic but I was wondering if you run any shaders on your Elden ring, thanks.
Try Ghost flame whilst in terra magika if you think the damage is broken ... Also int/faith my absolute favorite build. On a first game cycle discuss of light with the boosting items will literally take out all mobs with the lowest fp consumption. Also my character sliders where of Dr Strange. I've had so many people ask me for them
You definitely need to try higher NG+ cycles. NG+1 is pretty easy overall because of how OP you are with a full build. The game just doesn't scale up enough to compensate until after NG+3 or so.
My first play through was intelligent/faith just by just because I wanted to use BB and dark moon lol but I ended up being really OP just from the ability to use multiple damage types with high damage output. Honestly I like strength/arcane alot better though just enough intelligence to meet the requirements for a few weapons and same with dex
I have just 42 hours in this game, and i like to play it slowly, so i dont understand a thing of your contents, but its so satisfying to watch lol

... and 7 minutes in I'm realizing that I have all these things already (Journey 6) and I just suck. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 Love your videos.
Looks great my man! Homie, when we get the next installment?
Thanks for the video!
You could call this the “soul of cinder” build considering all the different weapons and play styles in one character.
Yeah, it's mental how much you can do with it! And now I want to make a Soul of Cinder Build! Thanks for watching, G!
Alecto fight is straight on beat 18:39
@2:25……….yup
Why not respec first and then kill the ulcerated tree spirit in elphael? Doing it with a strength build is maddening lol. Awesome guides my friend
I got this game 2 weeks ago. The number of things in this game makes my head want to explode. I might just go back and play Bloodborne or Sekiro
I think the devs watched this and said we will get this guy in the dlc
Surprised there wasn't more frenzy flame stuff considering how broken that can be
Hi thanks for the Video. Im so excited to try it. I would Love to know your graphic settings. Greetings from Germany
Sword of Milos is another off-hand all star on this kind of build in NG+x
Love the movie trailer intro
Great guide man! Really been enjoying trying out your builds. A little off topic but I was wondering if you run any shaders on your Elden ring, thanks.
And I thought I was doing great just abusing Night Comet. Time to start over again, holy shit!
Try Ghost flame whilst in terra magika if you think the damage is broken ...
Also int/faith my absolute favorite build. On a first game cycle discuss of light with the boosting items will literally take out all mobs with the lowest fp consumption.
Also my character sliders where of Dr Strange. I've had so many people ask me for them
No Sword of Night and Flame?
Since I've already beaten the duo and am currently fighting Malenia running this type of build... Now you post this. 😂
You definitely need to try higher NG+ cycles. NG+1 is pretty easy overall because of how OP you are with a full build. The game just doesn't scale up enough to compensate until after NG+3 or so.
I've only just purchased Elden ring and noticed there was a balancing patch a few months ago, is this build still viable?
where is part 3?
My first play through was intelligent/faith just by just because I wanted to use BB and dark moon lol but I ended up being really OP just from the ability to use multiple damage types with high damage output. Honestly I like strength/arcane alot better though just enough intelligence to meet the requirements for a few weapons and same with dex
