We installed Rain Bird 12 years ago. Used 1 inch manifold poly pipe from zone valve to last head and used 3/4 poly pipe off the manifold to each 42SA or 32SA head (spiderweb) The spray from one head almost reaches an adjacent head and the heads are installed in a triangle pattern. Works really well.
It would take me an hour to document all my struggles with this - Loved it first summer - honeymoon era. Trencher took a day to put in. Layed out with a T and 3 on each side. Water pressure in 75 with 6GPM. 2nd summer sorta ok, still happy to have in ground. Last summer, had to pull up head after head to get them to go. This summer, it just ain't working. No there is no leak. Have changed every head, found Orbit's work better and I believe more durable. I changed - all heads multiple times, new timer, TWO new FCKIT's (great name for their Faucet Connection, should be the name of the whole kit)), in and out and in with pressure reducerS (plural), hook hose directly to it bypassing timer., dug 2 2' holes in my lawn, replace end drain. Finally got out the sprinklers mid August and got my lawn green again. Yeah it was green around the heads where the water gurgled. I've bought (and returned) heads, including non rotators, at least a dozen of them. Where do I count the ways? THIS SYSTEM WILL NOT SUPPORT 6 HEADS!!! I was ready to buy an Orbit kit and start over, and destroy my lawn - again. But even if I did - I would NOT try to run more than 4 heads. To try to conclude, I finally stated digging, and found the T - (just about a 12" X 4' hole) and split them and extended them. Now separate lines with THREE heads pop fine. My yard is only ~60' X 20'. I will get an Orbit Dual Zone timer like I have in my front yard, and run them at different times. And tonight is is going to rain now that I FINALLY figured it out,,, wonderful. Happy summer and nice having a desert with 6 lush green spots about 2' in diameter. "Customer service" is appalling, all those things I tried, except using Orbit heads, were at their direction - but they NEVER admitted it wouldn't run 6 heads, even today for my at least 10th-12th phone call to them. I think it MAY run 4, but if you believe their advertising and put in 6 (3X3 on a T), prepare for the honeymoon to be over not that far down the road. You should see the parts laid out on my patio, but why bother? Suffice it to say I have at least $150 in Home Depot returns to do. This is deceptive advertising, and all the great reviews you read MUST be in the Honeymoon phase. I could type for another hour, but why bother. Rainbird owes me. I gotta get back out there and fill in the holes before it rains, but I'm scared to re-bury it for fear something else will happen. They need to re-name the kit with their Faucet Kit code.
Why do you post this on every video covering this? Ya know, it doesn't work for everyone. I have this exact system, and it works great. I have 15 gpm and 60 psi, and usually, you have to have a U shape design
@@coler156 Because they dicked me around for an entire summer, and never suggested the solution I stumbled on. I'm sure I'm not the first person to run into this. And their advertising is fraudulent, as I met all lthe qualifications. Their tech service never onces suggested to me the solution. SO, everyone needs to know not to try to run 6 lines at once. Maybe you have unusually high pressure and flow, good for you. I'd be willing to bet they're still falsely advertising it and using the T. That's why, they deserve and earned my ire.
Great video! I just installed one but ran 4 sprinklers off one line in a row. The heads will barley come up and aren’t shooting a strong stream. Could this be too many coming off one side?
it definitely is, the manufacture instruction said you should only run 3 heads per line. Also you should check your water flow(gpm) and pressure and make sure you have enough for these heads. For example, my house outdoor faucet took 60 second to fill up 5 gallon bucket, i use this formula to calculate my gpm: 5 gallon divided by 60 second time 60 = 5 GPM. The included sprinkler heads in the kit take 1~1.5 GPM per head so in my case i can only run 3 heads (3 heads x1.5 GPM = 4.5 GPM). If i run 4 heads x 1.5 GPM = 6 GPM and these heads will barely pop up because of lacking of pressure. Hope this help!
Thank you Rafael you sold me on the Rain Bird system . It sounds like you live in Florida because of talk of the Hurricane I also live in Florida . The Brandon area.
great video. two questions for you. Do you not need to secure the pipe to the T fitting with hose clamp and what are those black brackets against the sprinkler head?
Help needed: my water pressure is 10g/m I set up my system three heads per line. But when I start the system just three heads will pop up, and the three are different each time, with at least one on each line. I do not know what is going on. Any advice?
Depends on your water pressure, it sprays 32 ft just if you're only using one head, but using all six no. Works really well if you have a small yard, if you have a larger yard I would suggest buying two, so you have 2 zones..... but only set 1 zone at a time.... well you probably already know that part.
The 32s heads are build to fail they are the cheapest head rainbird makes, they have the steel spring instead of the stainless steel springs on others rotors, so they will rust and stick. They also don't have the check valve in the bottom like the 5004 so they will leak. Plus I notice this kit is missing the most important part, the Backflow, you always need to have a Backflow or a duelcheck in the house, or the backup or pressure can bust the pipes in your home. Plus with the heads being directly mounted to the pipe that poses a risk of broken fittings if the heads are step on or ran over with a lawn mower. I am a irrigation technician and have had to repair a few of these diy systems and I have to say if you buy one may sure you have a duel check for your hose bib or buy the Backflow and pvc fittings to build it and invest in swing pipe( or funny pipe) to connect the rotors
The 33sa are the cheapest. I had a system installed and used Hunter pgp rotors. I also had funny pipe ran after the supply lines. He knows what he is talking about.

About to do my install right now. Been putting it off for a few weeks. Doing both the front and back. Needed this video. Thanks!

How is your lawn coming along. Are your sprinklers going head to head or just some overlapping ?

Ricky Manning My pleasure..Yea Orlando.. first it was the hurricanes now is the cold fronts .. killed all my bananas trees..smh
@@SantosHomeTeam Tampa here, good job Rafael, I'm a little late here but your DIY makes me want to do this. How has it held up since the install?
Ari G so far so good...no complaints
great video. two questions for you. Do you not need to secure the pipe to the T fitting with hose clamp and what are those black brackets against the sprinkler head?
Question did you ever fix the leak to the spicket if so how thank you
Your welcome loll I'm joking
But if you ask me just Look up videos on how to fix hose connections leaks.
Thank you for your video. Just purchased mine from Amazon.
Thanks Rafael...I’m going to go buy the kit. Thanks for the video once again. I feel now like I can do the project.
Did you use a backflow preventer for your irrigation system
This kit already included the vacuum breaker (or called backflow preventer). It is the black thing around the connector at the timer
How did you fix the faucet issues to be able to leave it on the automatic feature?
When using house faucet. Is better to use pipes tha hoses.
Thanks man very informative. Going to buy one now!
Hi! What are the nozzles size? 0.75 GPM; 1 GPM or 1,5 GPM
Thanks your answer!

How easy is it to upgrade the Sprinkler head? Say like a Rain bird 5000?
Did you burry the auto drain ?
Thx! Awesome video. My husband has one more thing on the list.
This was so helpful! Ty!
thank you my man, thats what i needed. i wish you had somone to help you with recording.
Hi , is this the sprinkler kit from rainbird that comes with 6 heads and a digital timer?.
Yes!
Hey Rafael is the hose diameter 1/2"?
The 32sa is the best sprinklers
Great job on the video, Thanks for the tips.
Nice job man. Great DIY
Does this kit include a backflow preventer?
Yea if you look at the long connection from the timer it's between the timer and the funny pipe
Nice work
How much should I charge to install one of this
$300-500 imo
@@ChrisS-mj6ux I was thinking the same maybe $400-600

Hey Robert would the system work if you use 1/2" diameter swing pipe all the way?
Good job brother everything looks really good and that’s just what I was going to do to my house thanks for the video
A potentially nice video but You need to keep the camera stable matey...

Thank you for the video. How long did it take you to complete the project?
Juan Munoz no problem... it was a weekend project
A few hours sat.. a few hours Sunday ... all depends on how big your area is.. digging was the most time consuming
OK
@@SantosHomeTeam is a good one for me
Hunter Pro spray is very useful and I even showed you guys how to use it.
Did you have to adjust your water pressure
No I did not the pressure at my house works pretty well with no adjustments
NICE TO SEE YOUR instructions this was very useful.
How you winterize this system?
He looks like he’s in Florida or in the south. He mentioned a Hurricane, we usually don’t have freezing conditions. Maybe a few days a year.
You were swinging your camera too much. You need to shoot the video in sections.
Thank you
Can we get an update?
I moved.. still worked when I left.. just make sure to dig them deep enough to not get cut by lawnmower
How can i get this in india???
Yash Singh get from here
Round up! Yikes, no way.
Use Your Brain
You Need At Least 1 inch Pipe
For More Flow.
Amén.
Video should be called how to install a qhetto sprinkler system lmao call a professional.
Call u?? Fucking bum
Why the negative energy. Just bought this system and am glad to find this video. Try.... saving $3,000.
