The wait staff isn't nice just to get tips. Customer service is drilled into us.
Don’t want to disagree with you, and I’m not, but I would like to think Americans are nice and I believe they are and I believe the reason is they know how fortunate they are
I have worked for more than one employer that pushed for up sales. Instead they should be pushing for better food/service, not more sales. Of course I didn't work there long and they usually go out of business in a few years if not sooner.
As an American, and someone who has been waiting staff before. We are actually nice. When working for tips, that buys you some bullshit, if you fuck around too much,,, no amount of money is going to keep us polite.
I worked at a call center where the bosses pushed all the time for up selling. I was really bad at it, because if people know what they want, who am I to tell them to spend more. About every other day, I got a mug with chocolates, or some other little sign of appreciation from the boss because they had been monitoring my phone calls and I was really good at making the customer feel happy, not so good at up selling. So, it isn't all about immediate bottom lines. Also, on the West Coast, minimum wage is the minimum wage. Tips are tips, not wages (that statement is in Oregon, Washington, and California law). Although restaurant workers generally earn considerably less than stock brokers, they don't earn less than apple harvesters. So, tips are nice and kind of expected, but not tipping is not a capitol offense. In the University district, tips are mostly not expected, because college students have beer to buy.
I'm a New Yorker, born, raised, and still here. We are not all rude and I rarely eat fast food. Also, I used to wait tables and I was nice because I'm a professional and I enjoy people.
So true! I was born and raised in NY as well.
I'm from Texas. I travel as an engineer in my profession. New Yorkers are the rudest people I've encountered in the country. Not just there, even in Texas! The New York sports fans are only second to Philadelphia, and the Phillue people are by far nicer than New Yorkers.
Plenty great nice people in NY, but it's rarer than everywhere else.
Bruh! No. We are careful around each other and polite. We are not irrational with guns. We respect them.
She tries so hard and never gets anything right. As our Southerners say bless her heart.
She never quite does and some pretty far off.....lol. One thing she did sorta get right is that states/regions are are like their own countries, but even within that there are so many mixed cultures.
@@Roadtrip635 She's also comparing to Ireland. She might be right in the context of comparing to Ireland.
That’s code for “you dummy”
@@unconventionalideas5683 I lived in Ireland for three years and I don't know how she can get all this wrong even before studying and visiting our country. The Irish are well aware of American culture and I've never met anyone there who knew so little about America. It blows my mind how much she consistently gets wrong
Back in the day when I was a waitress, I was nice because I am nice. My mama raised me that way. There's no need to be rude. I don't think I ever had a rude customer when I was a waitress. Maybe it's the energy I put out.
That's it right there, service industry jobs draw in nice people. Nice people that have the temperament for the job can do well, the rude ones get weeded out.
People in the service and hospitality industries are usually there because it appeals to them, and they are naturally service oriented people.
1. Humor and sarcasm vary greatly across the US
2. I am American and I've never seen a gun or known anyone with a gun
3. Yes I can see why our tipping culture is a shock
4. People are nice no matter what - it's not just for tips
5. Yes we have a lot of fat people
6. Yes we have a big homeless problem and we need a huge overhaul of our systems to solve this
7. America has millions of introverts - I am one of them
8. Yes we have high crime areas
9. Yes flags are everywhere. If you grow up here you stop noticing them
10. I don't like to pigeonhole people by their beliefs, but lots of people do
Agree with most of that. I live in Texas. In my area guns are everywhere and many people carry them concealed. You don’t see them. I have grown up with them, hunting, targeting shooting, tannerite target practice and for fun. I am an introvert. Yup, we have fat people, have skinny people too. In my area there are no homeless people and while there are some in the cities, you tend to find more in states like CA, OR, WA, IL, NY etc. I live in a rural area. There is also little crime in my area but again, in the cities here there are low crime areas and high crime areas. Yup, we have a flag pole at my house that flies a flag. We are patriotic. In the bedroom 3 of my brothers and I share, a Betsy Ross flag hangs on the wall but my mom decorated the room. I have a flag patch on my rodeo vest but other than that, I’m not in your face about it.
Fast food: 2 times a week is typically for our house.
Everyone I know has guns. I don’t know anyone that doesn’t have them.
I think it's REALLY inaccurate to say wait staff are nice ONLY because they want a good tip.
To be successful in any service industry, you kind of need to be a nice person to start.
I agree. But there are employers that push for more sales, and in turn that means (usually) higher tip. But that is based on sales and not on service or good food. MOST good places don't worry about the tip so much as just providing good food and good service. I wouldn't state anything extreme either way.
@@mdshonkkc I agree with you. If you aren't that type of person don't get into the service industry. You're gonna hate it and you won't get paid much over your standard wage and that will make you hate it even more. It can be a tough business to get into, just to end up hating your job and the ppl you serve.
Guys calm down. I would say we are just nice BUT most staff needing tips will TOLERATE a person's rudeness more, in the hopes of not losing tips.
Absolutely. I've worked at many food places, and that thought never crosses my mind because I would do my job the exact same even if nobody tipped. It's just how I act.
The biggest successes are the people that failed repeatedly, and never gave up. There is nothing stopping you from greatness over here, other than you. I've always loved that.
I can see Lawrence from lost in the pond openly mock her and she wouldn't understand it.
Well they did collaborate on videos recently. The ones Lewis shows are from 4 years ago, her newer videos she changed and doesn't have as cringe takes.
Lawerence sucks as much as he does.
They'd actually collaborated on a video not so long ago

@leanndilorenzo4687 Keep in mind that a lot of Diane's videos that Lewis had been reacting to are her older videos. In her more recent videos, she doesn't come off as loud and insufferable
MOST people are not nice FOR tips. Some are, but most people in general are just very polite to one another.
Yeah, that wasn’t NICE of her to say. She is too cynical.

I only eat fast food 2-3 times a MONTH!!! Most Americans cook more than eating fast food. I spend more on groceries than fast food. I don't know where she gets her information from. She did too much generalization than telling the truth.
I honestly don’t remember the last time I had fast food in the US unless I was on a long road trip. I generally only try fast food when I travel abroad just to check out some of different menu items that they don’t sell back in the States.
Same! We only eat out once a week and the last place I want to be on the one night I don’t cook is at a fast food joint
I eat a ton of fast food all the time so it was accurate about me at least
It's getting ridiculously expensive to get fast food anymore.
We get fast food maybe twice a month.
We don’t do fast food anymore. It’s too expensive and it tends to be garbage. Delicious? Yes. But still garbage. Now, a milkshake from Sonic is a different story. 😁
She needs to stop making generalizations.
No, she doesn't.. She hasn't said anything that is true in at least a fair % of Americans.
@@sandikorevaar4743 No, I'm subbed to her channel, she talks out of her ass often, lol. If this is 10 things she assumed incorrectly, then I have to also assume this is just part one of a 400 part series, lol.
She is entertaining at least, I'll give her that.
@sandikorevaar4743 you said it yourself. She hasn't said anything that is true.
@@sandikorevaar4743 Excuse me? So you're the authority on a large percentage of American's huh.... all 333 million of us? How astute of you.
This chick is irrating... she's been here all of 2 times... her first visit was L.A and she and her friend got lost and took a bus to Compton... she thought our Convenience stores were out Grocery stores. Then she came home and made a video that America didn't have grocery stores that sold produce. hahaha
I like American straightforward speech. You quickly find out the boundary lines and where you stand with someone.
She's absolutely clueless. A) Tipping is a thing, because many service staff, especially food service, are paid less than minimum wage. They need tips. Most places, 15% is the typical. The better the service, the bigger the tip
B) As far as guns, not everyone owns a gun. Some people own multiple guns. I grew up on a farm, and we hunted our 10 acres of woods at the back of our 80 acre farm. I'm absolutely fine with gun ownership, provided people are educated in gun safety BEFORE purchasing.
C) Many of us really don't care about your religious or political beliefs, so long as they aren't shoved in our faces.
D) Not everyone flies a hundred American flags. A lot of us are quietly patriotic. But then, many are loud and proud.
E) The American Dream is as individual as it gets. Not everyone dreams of being rich and famous. For many, a good job, a nice home, and a reliable car is the American Dream.
On a final note, the US is NOT a continent. It's part of the Americas, which comprises North and Mezzo America and South America. The US spans the width of the North American continent and actually takes up about a third of it. We share this continent with 22 other independent countries.
Please don't rely on this girl and her gross over exaggerated generalizations.
And yet, when people refer to "America" they mean the USA. This woman annoys me too, but her comment about thinking of the US as a comment makes sense. We're so big, and have so many cultures within, we are more like a continent than a country to outsiders.
What 22 countries share our continent? Bahaha. Don't think so lol.
Tipped associates have a minimum wage. The really good servers make boat loads of money would scream bloody murder if tipping went away.

The Caribbean Islands still occupy the North American plate. And Mezzo America is on the North American continent. Did you take geography in middle school?
@@PaulsWanderingsyes the tipped minimum wage is as low as $2.23
The American Dream is basically the pursuit of happiness, regardless of income, status or origin. I've met people who are relatively poor, yet completely happy, and conversely successful people living a stressful life. Find what you love and go after it.
I’m starting to pass on this lady! Not my cup of tea!
I have found after many years that's it's hard to dislike the irish. But this princess makes it possible. Full disclosure: My DNA analysis says I'm 80% Irish myself.
Diane is actually very kind and makes some smart content. Don't judge her based on her opinions in this one video.
Personally, I like her a lot more than that German woman he reacts to - at least she thinks every state has differences. The German girl thinks the entire country is exactly like her neighborhood in Ohio.
She is either clickbaiting or has a very narrow view of what america is... like... REALLY narrow
I think she's spot on. Maybe you can't see yourself accurately?
Most New Yorkers aren't rude. She's very easy to be rude to since she's absolutely rude herself.
AMEN to that!!! 👏👍
New Yorkers AREN'T rude. For the most part, they're brusque and no nonsense, but they're not rude.
Fuggetaboutit, this Irish broad doesn't know New Yorkers at all!
You have to admit though that a large chunk of Americans believe that New Yorkers are rude. My Dad felt that strongly, and spending more time in NYC did not change his mind. He was a Southern gentleman, though, and levels of expected hospitality and politeness are simply higher in the South than in NYC.
@JRRLewis I understand believing the rude stereotype if it's based on experiences someone has had in NYC. Since many people residing there aren't native New Yorkers, isn't a good example of how New Yorkers behave. I love the South and agree that you'd be hard pressed to find those southern manners in NY. A big difference is that NYers wouldn't couch an opinion in the comment "bless his/her heart"...we're more likely to say the person is an a$$hole :)
are you sure this woman has ever been to the U.S.? does she have American friends? but (1) when people ask questions, its not about them, its about you. Taking an interest = trying to get to know you. (2) we are fat, but i have been reading what they put in our water and food is helping out lots with that. We get less and less physical excercise. (3) homelessness--blew up recently, never seen it so bad. We have never allowed drugs to pour across our border to make addicts, who end up on the streets as do now. We also allowed millions of illegals to walk across our border, with no place to live or money to support themselves. No matter how you feel about that free-for-all at our borders, we can all be ashamed of allowing that with no way to care for those people. (4) wait staff who make it to fancy restaurants make a LOT of money in tips. (5) fast food is something you tend to outgrow as time isn't so hectic. I have probably had fast food 3times in the past year
She thinks our wait staffs only want your money! She couldn't be more wrong. What she doesn't understand is that most of them only get paid around $2.00 an hour without tips it's impossible to make a living! Also people don't tip a bad waitress, she didn't have to tip anyone. We willingly tip our workers to help them out!
Lewis's #1 assumption about America... There are bears around every corner actively plotting his demise. 😉
I know! I always laugh when he asks about bears.
😂😂😂
And don't forget about the sharks!! 😂
My neighbor just sent a text saying they saw a bear. It must have been pink because I didn't hear one dog barking and my horse was quietly munching away at her lunchie munchies. The animals will let us know if a predator is in the neighborhood.
Funny part about that, is that I've been seeing on the news there is a juvenile bear that constantly been wandering around less than a mile from my house this week. I live in Charlotte, NC, not some wilderness.
In the US, if I run across someone with a distinctly non-American accent and the situation is appropriate, I will ask them some questions, like where they are from, what it is like there, and if they want to chat more i am happy to do so. I would never start our asking about their religion and other persona things like that. I would also let them know I would be willing to answer anything about my home town or other general questions.
Not her again...
😂😂😂😂😂 I know right? 😂😂😂😂

Lewis, I am an older viewer of yours I enjoy you and your enthusiasm as you watch the videos. I hope for you that you get to come to America soon. There are many times I watch some of the videos you show with some of the people from other countries and their point of view while they're in America or have moved to America and some of those things are just not true. I don't want you to get your hopes up so high because some of those people have given you an unrealistic of America. I've lived here all of my life and some of that stuff just not true. I pray you get here really soon so you can see for yourself. It is still a fantastic place to live. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I enjoy you young man.

P.S. everything depends on what state you're in. Literally everything.
Or even the city or town. Neighborhoods have personalities that change from one street to the next.
I live in Kentucky. Mother nature says, "You can't have all four seasons in one week." Kentucky says, "Hold my bourbon." The weather here is just a dice roll nearly all year.
I've experienced all four seasons in one day in Northern California. Woke up to cold foggy rain turned to snow then the sun came out and got muggy and hot.
I live in Arkansas. I haven't eaten fast food in at least 4 years. Much cheaper and healthier to cook at home.
Right - nowadays I might eat out once every 3 weeks or so, probably at a taco truck... I know quite a few others who've scaled way back on their fast food habits
Agreed. Whatever "convenience" that might be temporarily gained from eating garbage is probably going to have less convenient health consequences somewhere down the road if you live long enough. Depending on how you do meal preparation and habitually eat, it can actually be much more convenient to home cook as well.

I think she is just not getting the humor of the New Yorkers so she thinks they are rude. In general, Americans are nice, whether there is a tip or commission involved or not.
Naw New Yorkers are generally rude. As the mayor says on Ghostbusters...."being rude and miserable is every New Yorker's God given right" lol
People from the British Isles are so convinced that Americans don't understand irony that they have a really difficult time understanding New Yorkers.
Most important think New Yorkers value is our (and your) time so we get to the point quickly and go about our way.

People who aren’t nice, don’t usually become servers. Ugh
Every server I know hates their job and they are only nice because they have to be and for tips. They are nice to the customers then go into the kitchen to gossip about the customers.
@@stephy369 young people today are weirdos and very much like Europeans in their behavior & attitude.
Getting a server job was gold in my era and area. We made a lot and had fun doing it.
Exactly. If the restaurant's general manager receives several complaints about the attitude or unfriendliness of a server, they would not last long; as there would be twenty more ready to take their position.
How does any employee in a large company advance in a corporate position? By doing the best job possible with a great and friendly attitude. Whether you are a server in a restaurant or a corporate employee; success all begins at the same place.
Most Americans of my generation learned to cook out of necessity. We were raised on garden hoses and neglect. I was nine when I made my first chicken Caesar salad. No joke.
She probably feels uncomfortable in America because people clock the fact that she's a jerk!
Yeah, if I ran into her it wouldn't be due to me being American that would make me dislike her. Her voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me and I normally LOVE an accent (possibly because my DNA is mostly Irish/Scottish/Welsh lol) :). She also seems to think she has us all clocked now for some reason.......ummmm....nope, we can't even fully clock each other in this country bwahahahaha.
butt hurt much?
We had some men with guns hiding in our neighborhood once, and I called my husband who was home with the kids to let him know. He put the kids in the bathroom, locked all the doors, and sat on the couch with HIS gun ready. My kids told me the whole story, like they were proud to have a hero dad who could protect them.

Part of the reason there's so many American flags all the time is that they are required to be at certain buildings such as post offices, police stations, government buildings, bars that are for vets, etc.
Homeless number has to be considered relative to total population
USA is lower than UK, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Greece, Australia, France, Canada, and New Zealand for starters. But hey, let's not let facts get in the way of feelings and opinions.
Homelessness is insane in the last 10 years it has exploded. I travel by car a lot and I see it.

@@Average_Middle_Aged_American I am curious, which countries have higher homelessness?
@@rodneymacomber6337 It is a fraction of 1%. Maybe you just need a new neighborhood.
1) I eat Fast-food, maybe once or twice a month. I am overweight, but no more than Germans and or peeps from the UK that I have worked with.
2) The United States adopted the Tip culture after the civil war. Where the market was flooded with people who were just freed from servitude and now wanted to earn a living. Later on congress passed laws that allowed companies to pay people less than minimum wage, that earned tips. That also included places where people earned commision and flat-rates/piece rate workers. They also passed laws that people who worked in the "entertainment" sector were NOT paid overtime for anything over 40 hours. It was an effort to balance things out, but isn't a great system, for one while in the food industry, restaurants can charge less, since the employees earn less and supplement their incomes with tips. The person eating at the restaurant still ends up paying more since most people tip. BUT it does weed out the rude people from working in it, because they would be the ones never being tipped. In the entertainment industry many people earned way more than the average income... problems arrive when the "entertainment" side of things bleed over to movie theaters and other places outside of "Hollywood" where people work typical jobs. Those people can work far more than 40 hours and only get paid their normal hourly wages, where other industries earn time and a half, for anything over 40 hours. There's all kinds of strange and or just outright bad labor laws in the United States. Of course there is also tons of jobs available where you make much more than minimum wages for unskilled labor positions, and you can work as many hours you want. Skilled labor (ie. plumbers, mechanics, electricians, engineering, management, etc...) all earn far higher wages than most unskilled labor jobs. For example I am a quality control inspector for a large utility truck company and earn over $30 an hour. Of course I didn't start life out making that kind of money, I had to earn experience and build up a reputation that allowed me to earn that kind of wage.
3) Most people I have talked with don't care what your religion is or who you voted for. They only ever say something or care if someone is boisterous about their beliefs, way of life or choices. It's the normal don't mess with me I won't mess with you mentality. Of course there is always bad elements in all aspects of life.
4) Majority of people are patriotic, BUT aren't in your face about it. If you look hard, you will see American flags hanging on people's homes, but it isn't really all that common. One people don't want to be bothered by having to aluminate the Flag at night if it's left outside, or bother having to bring it in every night. So most people choose not to bother flying the flag. Plus in highly populated areas, there are the occasional "haters" that will mess with the flag, and many don't want to deal with that sort of thing.
The main thing to know about the United States is there are all kinds of people from all kinds of cultures living together next door to each other. I lived in the EU for years, and I can say this without a doubt. The United States is far more "open" about different people than many of the places I have lived and visited in the EU. Not hating on the EU, just having lived in both places, has given me a broad view of things.
She is clueless
I disagree. She isn't clueless. She has her observations and comparisons which we all do. She has also visited the US several times and has made adjustments and less generalizations. She isn't clueless, just watch newer vids of hers. You'll see what I'm getting at.

I always leave a tip, if service is crap they get 2% to 5%, if service is OK it's 10% but if it's great service I will leave 20%. I let the server know how good a job they do based on what I leave them.
not this chick again lol
The thing about tipping in the US is that it hasn't always been this way.
When I was a child in the 70s my parents would leave a few coins or a dollar if the service was really excellent.
When I became a teen/younger adult in the 80s we tipped a small percentage of left a couple of dollars generally for above average service. Bad service got the server less, and awful service got the ultimate slap, a single penny. This also happened in the 70s.
However by the 90s it had become 10 to 15% and the guilting began because of wages, and its has spread. It's like the ultimate peer pressure.
Oh, it's her again.. wooo :(
9:55 Depends on the region. Yes, waiters put on a “customer service personality” but just like the gun thing, it is not the Only reason. Americans are incredibly nice, especially in the Deep South and where I live in the Midwest. People are genuinely very nice, even to strangers - to the point where it even creeps out other Americans. California and New York/Massachusetts/New Jersey tend to be the rudest, but even their servers will be very brash and rude, similar to Europe.
15% is standard for typical/good service.
+/- 5% depending on the situation.
💯
Where I live 20% is standard, 15% is the minimal acceptable level, and anything less than that is trying to make a point about how horrible the service was. For really great service I’d go 25% or more.
10% would only be OK if sending a message that the service was poor (unless it's a buffet where service is almost all self-serve except maybe the drinks or clearing the table, then 10% should be fine).
Everyone wants a tip, think about it!! 😂😂😂 20% is what we usually tip. I love tipping!! ❤️ love ❤️
I'm glad you changed your mind about how big we were. There's like 50 different countries in one country. Every state are completely different. That's why we hardly left the country to visit another one. We have everything here.
Yes! I always say the United States is like the European Union. Each state has its own laws and culture.
@@stephy369yes that's pretty much how America is ran the states sometimes has more power then the country
I live in the USA and I personally own 8 guns and that is nothing my friends own up to 18 guns it is part of the rural culture more than the city unless you are from Texas ha ha
Oh hell naw!! I'll 👍🏽 the video, but I'm not watching her. No way!!
You should downvote it so he knows we don't like watching this chick. He gets the interaction either way.
Americans are very patriotic and I honestly think is a good thing.
That girl don't know what she's talking about.
I love all the people in the comments saying they barely eat fast food.......but forget about stopping at Starbucks everyday. And the amount of money that places like McDs, Arby's, Chick fil a, and the like is insane! Someone stopping by there........regularly haha. Stop fronting everyone haha.
I honestly cannot even watch this, turned it off as soon as I saw her. She is always so completely WRONG!
I wish you would stop using her videos
Love you, hate her
Sooooooo agree
In the case of waitstaff, many places pay less than minimum wage BECAUSE the workers will get tips. It's definitely not fair. Also in some places, tips are automatically split between all, no matter how someone does.
Not everyone is direct. Most people I know will not speak their mind to not hurt someone’s feelings. It all depends on culture and the individual. Tipping was started to thank someone for extra special service. Suddenly it became almost mandatory. Owners are using it to not pay a decent wage. Not what it was meant to do. .
We Southerners are definitely Not direct. We can give some indirect "bless your heart" comments but we are, for the most part very polite!
Tipping was started during Jim Crow to keep former slaves from earning real wages.
That's not how tipping started. That's the story they tell people to make it seem like it's for the worker's benefit. Look up the reason it actually started.
I work at a place we dont really accept tips because i just wanna be nice. That being said, some tipped me yesterday because of it but i tried to refuse it
Most…not ALL…but a large number are homeless due to substance abuse and/or mental illness. In most instances people cannot be forced into shelters or health care. Some do not want to go 8nto a shelter or care because they don’t want to follow the necessary rules.
Been reading the comments. As an American I understand why Americans find her offensive. She touched on a lot of issues we are currently fighting. Wrong place wrong time situation. We are up in Arms right now.
12:27 I cannot believe this woman refers to herself as being a quieter person !
😂😂😂 I did say the same thing
I feel like out irl she's more soft spoken socially awkward.
@@Some_who_call_me_Tiim
She very well may be.
😂
A lot of people are more socially active online but in person, are the quietest people youll ever meet. Im the same, ill talk all night online, but in person, im shy as hell and dont talk much.
The majority of homeless are drug addicted or have mental issues and in the 70s and 80s mental asylums were deemed unconstitutional or a violation of human rights and many were shut down. Thousands of patients were literally turned out onto the streets. Well, I certainly would not want to be in one of them. Would not want to be homeless either. What to do? I think the answer is more free housing for those who qualify and more and better homeless shelters.
Don't agree with the solution though.😉
Waitstaff that I know love meeting new people and talking to them. BTW I don't eat fast food.
This KAREN is making assumptions from a tourists view, she should keep her generalizations to herself until she has lived here. Commenting on what maybe 10,000 people she has met when there are 350 million people in this country. Only two things she came close to getting right was the American dream and the pride in our flag and country.
We (my family) literally have fast food once a month. First of all as a family of 5 it gets very expensive eating out. I save so much money by cooking...but i do understand why people get fast food so often. We are always on the move doing things and its so easy to feed everyone when taking kids to games and practices etc.
I'm with you, once a month, KFC is a treat. We cook 95% of what the family eats. It's not hard with how well cooking shows lay it out.
Yeah, we have fast food somewhere between 1 to 4 times a month. Generally depends on what we are doing. If we're out of town we often stop somewhere for lunch or dinner, and usually that will be someplace quick and cheap.
I have 7 brothers and 2 sisters (nope, my parents are not religious), two parents and my grandpa (my dad’s dad) is with us a bunch. No way we can afford to feed 13 people at McDonalds or Sonic. Once in a blue moon heading home from a sporting event, if we are running late, my dad might swing into Sonic but it’s rare. Then there would only be me and my oldest brother and only if running late was not planned and my mom already put supper away. It saves her work and it’s kinda special for us. MAYBE happens 3 times a year.
She needs to stop making generalizations
She's coming from her experiences, not an expert, empirical evidence based video. Chill a little bit.
I have never personally known anyone for whom “fast food is a way of life”. I eat fast food probably 3-6 times a year. I’m American, BTW.
Her experience with the requests for her idelogical views is most likely because she is NOT American. In my experience, we rarely ask others their positions.
The homelessness percentage is around .2% in the US as of 2022. In the UK it’s around .7% as of 2022. Yes we do have more people that are homeless but we have almost 10x more people in the US.
Not gonna lie, buddy I clicked off as soon as I saw who you were reacting to.
Yep.
Same
Same here.
She's a turn off no doubt.
Since I don't know who she is, I'm curious why so many agree with this. She just seems a cute Irish girl to me. What am I missing?
I never think about guns and rarely see them except on a police officer’s belt. No one is walking around in fear of guns. 😂
Tip percentage is just an individual thing. Lots of people still don't tip. I live off of tips so when I go out, I tip with the intent to make someone's day. I started out being nice for tips, but with time the habit becomes second nature and I'm generally nice all the time. I also carry a very big handgun but I keep it concealed. I'm from the Midwest, so that niceness only lasts until it's time to not be nice.
People don't tip you? My lowest tip is 15%, okay maybe 10% if the place was a disaster, which been maybe 5 times in my life
I just think tipping is fun. I start at 20% just because it's an easy quick number, then I round up to the next $10 to make it an even amount. I sometimes tip 50% if the service is extra amazing. If it is a small bill like for one item, I tip $5-10 because I feel like less than $5 is pointless.
@@stephy369 Around where I live, it's easy to figure a tip. Sales taxes are between 8 and 9 percent, so just double the sales tax and round up to the nearest dollar. But more and more, larger restaurants have the suggested tip figured on the ticket, 15%, 18% and 20%.
@@ccwnyc5671 I deliver pizza. It's not the same as bar or table service. 🤷♂️
I used to eat fast food several times a week but as I’ve grown older, I’ve had to become more health conscious. When the pandemic hit I started cooking at home almost exclusively and I used meal kits to expand my skill set. Now I can make food at home that’s as good as any restaurant.
American does NOT have a large homeless population.
UK, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Greece, Australia, France, Canada, New Zealand, etc all have a HIGHER homeless population rate than the USA.
There are several large cities that do not represent the entire country. I don't ever see any homeless in my town.
Maybe you should look outside your hometown.
@@DonalldArmentor - Maybe you should look at statistics.
This is just NOT true lmao. The UK, sure. Most of the other countries, no. There's tons of homeless in the US. I'd even see them panhandling in Fairbanks Alaska. Why do all these European channels attract such crazy right wing America First loonies that would make old school South Park republicans uncomfortable.
@@DonalldArmentor 700,000 is about 0.2% of the US population, which is statistically insignificant.
@@JEREMY99218 People tend to look at the number alone, not percentages. She's from Ireland with a population of 5 million which is 1/6 the population of Texas, and less than the population of New York City, so 700,000 seems like a lot. Percentage wise, not so much. 0.2% homelessness in Ireland would be 10,000, which lines up with actual homeless in Ireland of 10,321 (2022).
When I was younger, I worked at several jobs in the service sector, none of which were in the tipping category. I was nice to the customers because it made me feel good, I enjoyed interacting with and helping people. Most people I know who worked service sector jobs that I have talked to about it said much the same.
WOW!! I bet you will find a boat load of wait staff in NYC that are extremely offended by that remark!
But people in New York are known to be not nice😭. As an American myself, I know to keep my head down and go from point A to point B and not dilly dally
I live in the US, I have fast food every couple of weeks, and a restaurant once a week.
@L3WG as an American seeing guns, it doesn’t even cross my mind. How did you feel seeing them?
I'm from Louisiana where other states complain about our obesity then turn around and talk about how delicious our food is. They can't get enough of our food.
This woman is so irritating. We are not a continent, the continent includes Canada, Mexico and Central America and the US is in the middle.
Tipping is not required and some people don't tip... like my X. He's so cheap!
I used to eat fast food if I forgot to bring a lunch to work or was short on time but that stuff is so bad for you. It's cheap because it's full of ingredients that humans cannot digest. Seed oils, chemicals to preserve it, chemicals to make you want more of it and the "food" part of it is the cheapest of the cheap. It's grown on over used land that has no nutrition for the plants left and therefore has to be constantly fertilized with the cheapest chemical fertilizers. It's genetically modified, also something the human body can't use. It's all about feeding lots of people a lot of inedible "food" to fill them up and keep them coming back. Don't eat that stuff! It is not real food. I do not eat that crap at all anymore nor should anyone else. It's garbage. No, it's worse than garbage.
Texan here and I have to say the options to be or do what you want is unique compared to other countries. I am a cartographer (Geographic Information Systems) by day, musician by night, and I sell BBQ on the weekends.
I've lived in 3 countries, studied with 6 different universities in 4 countries, and visited many more where the way I live isn't possible for many reasons. What people outside the USA do not realize is you cannot be lazy or complacent and expect to live the dream. Nothing is given to you, and in a lot of ways you just have to make things happen.
We are proud of our country and state, but they are never EVER finished being fine tuned. You have to constantly work and fight for what you believe in to maintain a society that allows for those options.
You don’t pay attention to the comments dude!! I’m not watching or liking anything from her.
Why don't you like her?
He never reads comments.
@@MacGuffinExMachinabecause she claims to know all about America when she doesn't know Jack Sh-t!
Yeah even if he reads it or not every comment helps his YT algorithm that's why they ask questions and say to leave a comment. People don't seem to mind reading them before they get enough subs then they seem to ignore after they start making some money.
The homelessness is a problem. Yes, it is. Most of the homelessness is caused by drugs or homeless veterans. But what people failed to kind of put into perspective 700,000 is high but it’s 700,000 out of a 340 million population over 50 states that stretch far and wide
I really do not like this lady.
Off topic, but with NFL season coming up again soon you need to react to Eli Manning going undercover for college football tryouts as the giga bro personality " Chad Powers"
Some waiters and waitresses are friendly in the south because we are known for hospitality. I’m from Texas. Families encourage you to follow your dreams. Families are supportive.
9:04 15% is your standard tip. 25%+ is for the service that goes above and beyond.
As a former server at a busy seafood restaurant in Austin, Texas. I can definitively say that a basic tip for basic, not great, not incredible, but very basic service is 15%. And it's up to your discretion and how good you feel the service was. I was more often than not tipped 25- 30 % at my tables because I always hustled to give every customer above average service. I even had customers at other servers tables demand to the manager that I was their server. It was always a bit awkward because all the servers tried to help each other out. But it was also a huge compliment and caused the other servers to up their game so that they didn't lose any customers because of mediocre or bad service. But 15% is a basic tip.
Texan here. Not afraid of being shot. I think she is correct about no middle ground on gun issue. I think everyone is passionate one way or the other
