Killer Whales Up Close Tour with Malia - SeaWorld Orlando

- Not quite the whole thing, but not quite highlights. Most of the tour is there, I just cut out some of the pre-amble and the chat at the end. The only thing I cut out while we were with Malia is the bits where we were having photos taken.
The other two whales were Trua and Kayla, they feature at the end.
This was filmed with a Go Pro attached to the top of my camera, so you can hear some shutter noise and some of the framing isn't great. I also apologise for my stupid laugh!

I was a bit shy - I really wanted to ask for more stuff but I didn't want to take control when there was another group with us... maybe next time!

Regardless of your thoughts on SeaWorld/animals in captivity, this dude is amazing at his job. Gotta rep people who give it their all.

do they make amandatory for the people to wash their hands before they feed the wells for their safety and their well-being so they don't get sick?
And then another thing I wouldn't wanted to ask is a sense of pandemic is it was it enforced even more also they can't use the the ones with the alcohol and all the chemicals in it do they for the hand sanitizers?
This video is from 2018 I have no idea what the protocols are since the pandemic. I know they have changed this tour but I do not know what those changes look like.

It annoys me that he calls Malia a whale, orca are dolphins.
All dolphins are whales, so he's not wrong to call her a whale technically. And seeing as they are called "killer whale"s it makes much more sense to call her a whale in a casual sense.
CetusCetus I guess, but he could at least mention her being a dolphin. Or explain why they are called killer whales to guests.

If you could do anything better as a youtuber, it would be to NEVER use a go pro with a camera at the same time. That shutter sound was extremely annoying. I thought about doing this tour, however they want over $500 for 4 of us. That's some BS 100% especially after paying almost 4k already on a vacation. I can see $200 for 4 people, not being able to touch them makes the $500 way to much.
That is animal cruelty. Orcas swim approx. 100 miles every day through the ocean with fresh water, united in a big family pod.
Now beeing locked up in a tiny pool with chemical water, beeing fed knowing food is only provided when she perfoms silly tricks, isolated and alone.
Free her and unite her with her family.
The ocean is salt water, not fresh water.
She is not isolated or alone, Malia lives with four other orcas - her half-brother, niece, nephew, and her half-brother's mother.
Which family would you unite her with if you were to "free" her? She was born in captivity. The vast majority of orcas currently in captivity are captive born and so cannot be "freed" to "unite" them with their families. This is real life, not Free Willy.
If you don't agree with cetacean captivity, that's your prerogative, but at least educate yourself on some of the basics first.
