Holy crap! Using these tips plus the 'dodging without directional input' had me beating this guy on the second try after him kicking ass for most of yesterday. Thanks!
I just stayed around his feet and that worked without following the rest, surprisingly. It took me like 45 minutes before I looked at this video and I got it on the 2nd or 3rd try after staying by his feet. Definitely the most challenging boss in Chapter 1.
For those that are struggling ensure you have stamina upgraded. Dont spam dodge and wait for his spirit to light up to dodge left or right, dodge through the actual boss during the damage phases and dont try to speed through it. Take your time and manage your spells during the damage phases.
THE BEST TIP OUT THERE. HUG THE FREAKING LEG FROM THE BACK AND STICK TO IT WHILE DODGING ACCORDINGLY. I WON AFTER PLAYING AGAINST EM FOR 2 DAYS. THANK YOU.

Do you have to unlock the move to do the double heavy attack and what is it under (?) cause I’m just going to take a spark away from something else and put it on there for now. I was saying to myself that’s definitely enough and if I really want to, I could just use my mana- to just use the immobilizing trick . One thing I like to do, though is hit him with the stone Monk - ( basically the first spirit you can get in the game ) just a straight headbutt takes away some of his health.
A couple other bosses took several tries to learn their moves but this one is frustrating. Hopefully this is like is souls games where theres always one early boss that really tests you hard but things get less ridiculously difficult after
This game is becoming too much for me. A boss LITERALLY every 5 minutes. It’s fucking brutal man. I just want to have fun playing an action game I don’t want to put all this effort into a game. call me a casual all you want but this game desperately needs a difficulty slide. at the very least, they need to implement a parry system. im so disappointed with this game man.

what triggers the second phase? sometimes he goes to second phase when he has 25% health left. One time he was already in second phase when he has like 75% health....
But what we are not seeing is how leveled up you really are. Having 3 focus points. Because where im at currectly with the bear im getting treated like an adopted ginger kid that no one wanted.
Hate this boss with a burning passion. Whiteclad was a learning curve, took longer, but this one was just straight up bs - by design, not by difficulty. The problem is that he's not even necessarily 'hard'; I have no problem dropping him right to critical health, with most attempts bring straight up one or two hits from his defeat. But for the life of me, I just can't seem to survive 😭 I get the greed punishment, but I hate that the early game in Wukong doesn't allow any sort of aggression in playstyle.
Can someone tell me why the immobilize spell doesnt work sometimes? This game idk why the controller feedback is so delayed its so annoying. Sometimes i press the button for the transformation and the effin fire cloak gets triggered instead im about to rage quit this game 😅
Umm it really looks so easy for you when you hut him the angles are always so perfect like on the side or back. I do two hits but he always does more attacks on me and I ended up not going near him. Maybe I have to co trol him more like you do. I don't know why he didn't catch on fire on your second phase. But anyways I will give it my 20th try😊
You need to be in smash stance with a focus point Smash light attack combo and when you start swinging the staff around your back a lot press triangle and it will do the “resolute Strike” Once that strike hits the enemy you can press heavy attack again if you have 2 focus points from the start to do 2 heavy hits back to back
I just took the far left column of Staff Stances, and some of the Smash Stance in order to unlock 3 focus points. Had no points in magic/transformation/survival.
@@ngonnui Default layout (square for normal atk chain, triangle for the double heavy strikes). The spells are also set to specific buttons that we can't change.
