  • We can cascade the CD4017 with the help of an AND Gate. In this video, Cascading IC CD4017 | How to cascade CD4017, I've discussed the cascading circuit and shown this in practical.

    Great presentation! Showing the breadboard, the diagram, and the circuit actually functioning made me decide to bookmark the video and subscribe to your channel. I will start working on it today. Yard work and other chores can wait😄😄

    Why does simply connecting the carry out pin of the first decade counter to the clock pin of the second decade counter not work for doing more than 10 leds?

    Can I use 74ls08 instead of CD4081?

    Excellent. How do I connect a variable pulse? I do not want the switch in it. Thanks.

    I'm using a 555 timer for my clock. When I apply power, LED 1 which is coming from output pin 3 from the 1st 4017 will not light 1st. It does light up after the sequence starts over. Any idea why?

  • @johnnivens9906

    Why cant you use pin 3 for the last one. It's not going to any more 4017s so I don't know why you could not use pin 3 on the last IC

    after replacing a dead 4017, it works! wonder why it died on me.

    Instead of the push button could you use a 555 timer from pin 3 to generate the square pulse?

    • @EEWave
      @EEWave  3 года назад +3

      Yes, we can. We have to connect 555 in Astable mode. I'll show this in the next video.
