old video by now :p but i use this case as a NAS with only 2,5" SSDs in the 5.25 bay. for the PSU mounting, it's indeed pretty easy with a long screwdriver. Long being relative as it's just a 2U case. Not a case flaw but this is one that requires rack brackets or the silverstone rails. installing it cantilevered will sooner or later end in regrets.
Great first video! Bookmarked that case for later (mini version). Haven't really gotten around to building a proper home lab (I'm a bit lax in the networking side of hardware), but will soon. Found this video via youtube home feed recommendation, by the way. Subbed!
Thank you very much, glad I could give you an in-depth look at the case, I think the mini version is pretty cool but at the time it was more expensive than the full-depth one so I didn't grab it. I really appreciate the support, let me know how the mini version goes for you 😄
Thank you for the informative video, you get my thumbs up :) so now one year later - what do you think about this case? by the way how it the overall build quality? gauge of the steel ? any sharp corners? anything flimsy? I would love to see a followup video on this build
when techshocked mentioned he wanted to find what worked best for his family i found that so sweet, i bet he has a sister, i bet she’s really hot, i want his sister. this guy is going places!!! can’t wait to see his video setup progress!! good start brother (; get it? brother (;
Got one too, but don’t like sharp edges inside the chassis where the power cable is routed and the switch of the PSU is not reachable the way it’s hiding behind the front panel. Not increasing confidence. Ok, the system in not often moved so hopefully nothing bad happen.
Very cool video with amazing shots! It just got too boring in the parts where you were explaining your reasonings, Those could easily be fitted in between of the shots of you assembling the server. You have a great potential and wish you luck!
Appreciate it, I learned a lot from this initial video and it was a great learning experience in how to pace out my future videos appreciate the kind words!
So basically you can also build a rackmount from scratch using regular desktop PC parts like a micro atx motherboard and atx PSU? I thought server computers exclusively used server-only parts.
Let me know, would you use this case in your own homelab?
no! ♡
My homelab is 2 rack srvrs and the case is unavailable most of the time (hp dl360p g8 and r720xd sff model)

Very good and informational video 20/10!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video thanks! Would really have liked to hear how much noise the case generates when you switched on the server.
