When its not handled the same across all states, it not only becomes a state issue for those states but a national issue as well.

    *FOR THOSE WONDERING WHY THE SENTENCE WAS SO LONG* - He had brutally tortured the boy for months on end including assaulting him with weapons. The boy was often denied food and water for days at time, and was often kept imprisoned in a storage room where he'd remain locked for days with no medical treatment as he suffered from his many injuries, only to then have more injuries inflicted over the old ones. Police and medical staff said they'd never seen a case with similar severe injuries where the victim was even able to remain conscious, let alone walk; That's how badly his entire body was damaged :c
    The sad truth is that similar cases (and worse cases) often receive shorter sentences but _all_ such crimes should result in the perpetrator being removed from society _forever._
    So that is why his sentence was so long. Per usual the news report didn't accurately convey the details which has left some viewers feeling sorry for the perpetrator or feeling like he's been treated too harshly. I see this all too often with modern reporting unfortunately.

    • @rchamp247

      It's surprising that the adults (I won't call them parents) would even take him out in public with such noticeable signs of physical abuse.
      Thank God they're stupid.
      I hope the boy ends up in a loving home.
      Anyone know if there is a family member taking care of him, or did he end up with strangers in foster care?
      I've heard that the foster care system isn't always that caring.😕
      He needs a very nurturing environment.

    • @Vexarax
      @Vexarax Год назад +25

      @@Will_Moffett yes the news article really failed on that front. Only a few bruises were _visible_ because he had a facemask on with his hoodie pulled right down, but those bruises were really bad. The woman could still see how serious they were with only that small amount of skin showing. For some reason the article implied "she could see a few bruises" as though he maybe had minor discoloration, but they were bad enough in a small enough area to alarm her. Afterwards it was found that the entire rest of his body was covered in severe wounds and injuries both old and fresh :c

      That's what all parents say after they whip their kids. Thank God I turned out to be way more intelligent than my parents because I don't have to whip my kid, I knock since into them with words, like saying "you realize if something happens and you get into trouble for this, I can't help you, you will have to deal with the consequences yourself" and I will say other things according to the situation that most parents would whip their kid for, works better than any whippen that didn't work for me when I was younger, I just kept repeating the same things and my whippens turned into abuse because I would constantly do it and that's the only way my dad knew how to correct his children, but when I got older I knocked him clean out when he was abusing me and I cried and told him why did you treat me that way growing up and he cried too and hugged me and told me he was sorry and stoopid and young and he didn't know how to raise a kid like me. I was never a legal case, it's just that I didn't care in school and never did any work, by 7th grade I completely gave up and did absolutely zero work and or pay attention to the lesson, I wasn't really a bad kid, it's just the school system couldn't raise me, I was too much of a free thinker and I wanted to be outside having fun, not sitting at a boring desk all day trapped inside, but school doesn't teach you how to think it teaches you what to think, when a dude comes around like me and doesn't follow trends or the crowd and did what I liked it was hard for the school system to try and kick Chris out of school as fast as possible, I made it to 9th grade without doing any work at all and how I did that, is they wanted to get me out of school as fast as possible and when you make it to highschool where I went to school they can send you to a bad boy school where the kids are actually bad and want to fight a lot and at that time in my life I hated fighting and all did it when I had to stand up for myself, but all the kids there were mad at the world and actual bad where I was just the dude who didn't do his homework and just write random stuff on the test just so I can turn it in and say I am done. Also the police officer at that school was a huge overweight lard who was a total bully because I am sure he thought we all deserved it, it's also probably why the police department decided they would just get him away from them and send them to a bad boy school where he just sits and watches the security cameras all day that were in every class room while he was eating food and snacks all day everyday
