I am so fortunate to have been part of the same temple (ISKCON Columbus near Ohio State University) for since 2016. Going there was the best thing that happened to me in this life. Not only me but even my parents became Krishna Conscious.
It's sad that without proper understanding of our vedic culture and traditions, common people claiming to be "hindu" are simply making false statements. During vedic times, parents would admit their kids to gurukul to learn vedic and spiritual knowledge. That phase is called "brahmachari ashram" where young children would learn celibacy and scriptures. Then they'd enter "Grihastha ashram" or married life, then Varnaprastha ashram and then Saniyaas. It's a natural progression in everyone's life.
But because in today's time people have little to no interest in acquiring spiritual knowledge. All life they want to work like dogs and cats, and make money and satisfy their ego and their family's false expectations. Anyone trying to make spiritual advancement shouldn't be stopped, in fact use them as a tool for our own spiritual growth.

I've listened to Prabhujis 's Bhagwad Geeta course and his interviews with Hare Krishna TV. I was highly inspired by him. And watching his parents to understanding the devotional path and supporting him in this is so so heartwarming. I literally cried. Huge respect to such parents. They donated their most beloved possession in the service of Krishna. Krishna will always keep them happy.🙏
He is on right path and his dedication towards krishna will lead his parents to salvation

I don't need that God who divided families....I have my duty to take care myself n my family...n help others , that's it.
People go to sanyasi or priests to take their blessings,but are against their own son becoming a sanyasi. Hypocrisy and double standard. It shows the son has more sense ,seeking spirituality instead of money( which their parents would prefer for their own purpose).
1000% agree, in country like India where the total population will exceed China within few years, still people aspire to breed like animals, thanks to this gentleman to chose the path of renunciation and spread peace and tranquility rather Greed and Vulgarity, jealousy

What is Mayank studying- Geeta or Ved?
Arjuna: I desire to know severally, O mighty-armed, the essence or truth of renunciation, O Hrishikesa, as also of abandonment, O slayer of Kesi!
Krishna:The sages understand Sannyas to be the renunciation of action with desire; the wise declare the abandonment of the fruits of all actions as Tyaga.
Some philosophers declare that all actions should be abandoned as an evil, while others declare that acts of gift, sacrifice and austerity should not be relinquished.
Hear from Me the conclusion or the final truth about this abandonment, O best of the Bharatas; abandonment, verily, O best of men, has been declared to be of three kinds!
Acts of sacrifice, gift and austerity should not be abandoned, but should be performed; sacrifice, gift and also austerity are the purifiers of the wise.
But even these actions should be performed leaving aside attachment and the desire for rewards, O Arjuna! This is My certain and best conviction.
Verily, the renunciation of obligatory action is improper; the abandonment of the same from delusion is declared to be Tamasic.
He who abandons action on account of the fear of bodily trouble (because it is painful), he does not obtain the merit of renunciation by doing such Rajasic renunciation.
Whatever obligatory action is done, O Arjuna, merely because it ought to be done, abandoning attachment and also the desire for reward, that renunciation is regarded as Sattwic!
Please read bhagavath gita. If really God wanted us to abandon our duties and go and sit in temple, he would not have advised Arjuna to fight
Isha Upanishad:
kurvann eveha karmāṇi jijīviṣet śataṁ samāḥ | evaṁ tvayi nānyatheto'sti na karma lipyate nare ||2||
By doing karma indeed should one wish to live here for a hundred years. For a man such as you (who wants to live thus), there is no other way than this, whereby karma may not cling to you.
Sage Vashishta's teachings to Lord Rama:
Wise man’s friend, O Rama, is his own action which arises spontaneously in him and in which there is no division or conflict. LIke a father, it encourages him and provides him with enthusiasm. LIke a wife, it checks him, restrains him and guides him. It does not abandon him even in the worst calamities. It is free from doubt. It promotes the spirit of renunciation. Because it turns anger and hate upon themselves, it is like quaffing nectar. It is his friend and helper even in the densest forest of troubles and difficulties. It is the treasure chest which contains the precious gems of faith.
Tell me as a iskcon sanyasi how does the world benefit from you? What theatre of spontaneous action does it allow?

Don't be brainwashed. Train your mind to positively take different viewpoints. If your curiosity is pure, bhagavan will guide you and ensure you get everything
This "bramachari" is talking nonsense. This is because he related earning money with only enjoying? Who told you this? Money is associated with Goddess Lakshmi! You work hard keep nothing with yourself give away all the wealth to those in need. This is better because the material world is benefiting from you technical view points. At the same time spiritual world is benefiting from your donation! If you don't keep any money with you how is it enjoyment? It is tapasya only. Lastly I'm only saying this as your mind is not yet detached from wealth so you seem to see it as evil.
There are many godly kings in the past such as King janaka who lived amid many riches!! This is because the kings mind was completely detached from wealth.
But are people in today's world capable of living in riches and still be detached??
