- We stuck my Buell B5 on L&N Railroads F Unit! It really fit 819 well and sounds great. A lot of people think it sounds like a mix between a Old Cast P5 and a M5. This isn’t the first time this horn has been on top of a loco. This horn was tested by Amtrack on top of one of there AEM-7s for consideration of service back in the early 2000s but unfortunately didn’t make the cut due to its fragile brass bells. #L&N

Despite the flaws this horn had, it actually suits the locomotive quite well.
Just have a cage protecting it, problem solved, then you can have Buell horns on.
it surprisingly fits that locomotive pretty good! i love the horn and how it’s a mixture between a P5 and a M5
Oh I know, that is such a pretty sound! I wonder if Nathan airchime could do this with the k series horns.
Sounds right at home on that locomotive. That's where a train horn belongs!
That is one beautiful horn!! I would love to have one of those on my F350 super duty truck.
That's one mighty sounding beast!
Normal people: that's a buell
Me: It's a long M5
Congrats!!! This sounds nice and sounds fantastic on an F unit. Reminds me of an M5. Also great video!!
Thanks!
@@TheHornKing Your welcome!!
11/10 horn right there.
DAMN!!! she sounds just right with that horn.
That thing sounded fantastic up there! Finishing up editing my clips, but a video will be up shortly! 😉😁
Thanks and looking forward to your video!
They should keep this horn on L&N 819!
Oh yeah buddy! it's got that classic vintage sound to it! It fits that locomotive perfectly! You should totally do a paint job using this locomotives colors so it would look more fitting. But then again maybe some people like it the way it is, I can be an OCD priss a lot. Lol but really, to each their own.
The B5 certainly sounds very much lovely being used for its intended purpose. This video allows the B5 to really shine in tone, sounds very very pretty! If Buell had strengthened bells of these horns and had they made it into revenue service it would've been interesting to see what different varieties of the B5 wouldve been casted. One thing that would be cool is to see a B5 with a bell reversal.
Thanks! And yes this horn paired up great with this F unit. They can be found out in the wild but it is very rare to hear one. Bell reversal would be a cool idea for this horn
Sounds like a mix between a k5la and a new cast p5!
Way Cool. Nothin like havin one of ya horns on a loco. Especaily on as beautiful as that. The engineer has his own unique song, you would know him anyware.
Thanks Chris!! I agree!! Going to try to get the S5D up there soon
@@TheHornKing Cant wait!!! See if ya can voice the chambers in progression like I did on my newest S-5D. Took a chunk of time but made it sweet.
Nice train video.
Danm that’s beautiful!
Those rails are excellently kept. Barely any clacking!
GOD DAMN
BWAAMP BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMP
What is that cadence? The extra little blip after each long 😂 Also how to drain your main reservoir with this one easy trick
That’s my friend blowing it lol, that’s his sequnce
Is by chance part of the Tennessee Central railway museum's locos and cars?
It is
Beautiful!!....How did they go about asking you for your horn though?!
I know the owner. Probably be running several more of my horns in the future on that loco
Maybe you should put the K7HLA on another locomotive
Iv thought about it!
Maybe a mainline unit
hold up, how did you get it up there?
Friends with the owner
Why does he keep adding extra "syllables" to the traditional Long-Long-Short-Long whistle sequence at grade crossings? I didn't care for that one bit. Please sound the horn correctly Casey Jones.
