Nice plug for the Louisville & Nashville Railroad Historical Society. I don't know how long the L&NHIS has been in existence but the Chicago & North Western Historical Society was founded in 1973. Anyone interested in the Chicago & North Western Historical Society or any of the railroad that CNW acquired can check out www.cnwhs.org for more information.

My father worked for the L&N. He was a official for almost 20 years. I was born in Louisville in 1960. I have so many memories as a kid of going to general office buildings on weekends sometimes with my dad.

Great job! As someone is fond of saying, these old predecessor roads are history worth remembering. When I was a tyke, my grandfather was an REA agent on the Rock Island. I grew up meeting the train with him every afternoon, EVERY afternoon. Thus my affliction for railroads.
In this part of the world back then, there was the Rock, the Frisco, The Missouri Pacific and the KCS. The Rock died a hard death, most of the tracks now bike trails. Frisco became an integral part of BNSF, MoPac was absorbed by UP. But KCS is still a class 1 all by itself, it does not get much attention. The only class 1 to have never merged or sold anything.

You omitted to mention, that the L&N went defunct, back in 1982. There's a song about the L&N, on Johnny Cash's, 'Silver' album, released in 1979. It's the very first track (pun intended there, somewhere😉).

By 1969, The Evansville/Atlanta, "Georgian" had been downgraded to just a numbered train - no longer carried a train name.
Questions: When did the last numbered passenger train (formerly called The Georgian) leave Atlanta Union Station on its northbound run?
#2: what was the motive power, how many cars and passengers did it carry on its final run?

The models look huge for HO scale. They use lots of human figures. I thought is might be S scale. I looked up the models on the L & N Railroad Historical Society and their main railroad scale was HO unless mentioned otherwise and there was no S or O scale mentioned, so my guess is they use a lot of HO scale human figures and the layout photograph BIG.

Thanks for the video! We live up near Portland, TN and have the old L&N main line that runs through town.
Question - Do you by chance subscribe to Shawn James' "Self Reliance" channel? Because he uses the same music to intro his videos. We had just finished watching one of his videos and then started watching this one and I had to do a double-check that I clicked on the right video! :-)
