- I’m very stoked to announce that I’ll be doing session drums on the next Intronaut album. I’ve been working/writing with Sacha, David, & Joe for the better part of the last year now, & I couldn’t be happier with the material. It’s without a doubt some of the craziest stuff I’ve written on drums, & the overall compositions by the guys are brilliant. I’ve had a blast working with them thus far (truly some quality human beings), & am very excited to start tracking.
In the meantime, we thought it’d be fun to announce all of this with a play-through of an older Intronaut tune - one of my personal favorites, “Fast Worms”, from their last release 'The Direction Of Last Things'.
Tracking starts today with Josh Newell out in L.A., with an early-2020 release date planned (via Metalblade Records!). Gotta hurry back to the east coast early next week for a one-off with Whitechapel, too!

I am really sad that he got asked to leave. He is one of my favorite drummers out there. They probably found the best possible replacement.

Hell of a way to announce that you're partnering up with them on their latest album. Danny will always be one of my favorite drummers, but I can't lie, pretty excited to see what you bring to the table. These dudes need more recognition one of the best prog bands out there for sure. Movin' on up in the world little Rudi! Tracking drums with prog gods and then hitting the road with some Deathcore giants.

Well if you didn't know about Rudi then now you know bro! One of the very best drummers on the entire planet! This man is so underappreciated and just overall not known by enough of the world! Truly an icon and idol for alot of aspiring drummers! 🤘

Of course his speed, technique, and complexity are amazing, but what I really appreciate about Alex is his dynamic consistency. Getting that perfect shot to show the right intensity every time is a hallmark of a great recording drummer.

Intronaut are in my top 3 of all time. DEATH, TOOL, INTRONAUT. Yeah, they're that fucking good.
Start with the album this song is from (The Direction Of Last Things) as well as their previous album (2013's Habitual Levitations [Instilling Words With Tones]). Great stuff! Their older albums are a little more raw and screaming vocal-focused, but still good. Devin Townsend mixed their latest album.

It's like 2 super powers coming together. I was very worried about who would replace the groove and creativity of Danny but Holy Shit!! I couldnt be happier that its the beast Mr. Rudinger. Sometimes the Universe is very generous. Today is that day.

Dude is just phenomenal. I can honestly say that. I’ve never listened to intronaut, but after listening to this, and the breakdowns and funk, it’s pretty sick! This coming form a 47 year old. Yeah, some of us still bang our heads!
You should listen to all their stuff, this is great but I honestly like Danny’s style more, this is a little gospel choppy for me. I think Danny is more tasteful imo
