    Haters gonna hate.
They're all butt hurt that you called them out for missing and/or glossing over this issue in their so called reviews. They all jumped on the seemingly increasing Q9FN best TV of 2018 bandwagon, dishing out 5star, 10/10, reference status awards etc. and they now look foolish for it.
You're a gentleman and a scholar sir. Keep up the fantastic work.

I’ve seen throughout the forums people saying you should apologize to said reviewers and you have, fair enough. But I see it as completely unnecessary. You called out what we as consumers would have regarded as trusted review sites. There was nothing personal or in any way derogatory about your remarks. Seeing said reviewers then lambaste you and call your motives and integrity into question, regarding your calibration business, seems all the more personal to me. If they were worth their salt they’d have been more concerned with the issues you had raised and put as much effort into rectifying their reviews and addressing said issues. The fact remains that you have consistently been the best television reviewer out there for some time now and have provided us consumers with with a level of knowledge and critique scarcely seen elsewhere. I only hope that continues and those who would so quickly move to attack you take a leaf from your book.

I, as a true movie enthusiast, think you have the right mentality for a professional calibrator, Vincent. Getting a picture to look 'awesome' is not professional, that's not what I'm paying for as a consumer of a calibrated picture. I'm paying to get a picture that resembles the monitor that Tarantino, Nolan, Thomas Anderson etc watched while creating their masterpieces. I want to see exactly what they want me to see. I don't want any colors to 'pop' unless that's what was intended. I don't want Samsung or any other company to alter any of these pieces of art that I'm watching on my television just because they'll sell more TVs in the store to the average non-enthusiast, I want the content as close to the original form as possible.

Vincent I really really appreciate how informative and knowledgeable you are about tv's and reviews. As a Best Buy employee that works in the Magnolia home theater department I try to teach consumers about colour accuracy and how tv's cannot reach the mastered nit content so they have to find a way to scale it down for a tv outputting at max 1000 nits. I always refer my customers to your videos and I really appreciate your content. As a video enthusiast who is majoring in computer engineering I love how technical you are and it gives me a real honest and confident reason to recommend different tv models to different customers. Never change because this channel is gold. It might not be as consumer friendly because you talk about higher level concepts that must people are not willing to learn even though you do a great job of explaining everything but you are a true gem on RUclips and all of us (your subscribers) really appreciate you for not leaning to a more general audience and dumbing down your content. The technicality is why I keep coming back and you are awesome Vincent, thank you!!!

Expertly wording or downplaying certain negatives so not to piss off companies has become a fine art in the review/publishing industry. You are the only one that has me raise an eyebrow these days with your candid critique of flaws you deem noteworthy. I'm yet to come across something you highlighted as an issue where I've had a chance to look at it myself, that hasn't turned out to be just as serious as you explained it to be.

Even though the average Joe might not see what you have in real world veiwing as they have subjective untrained eyes, the enthusiast and the pro calibration experts will due to following film standards set over 30+ years. Samsung, is by far, the absolute worst brand when it comes to supporting this format. Everything from ‘fake’ QLED (which, if people remember, real QLED was basically Micro LED), HDR10+ (which is algorithm based), overpricing their panels despite these recurring shortcomings that people like Vince thankfully point out in their reviews, and now, they’re attempting to create artificial brightness, ruining the creative intent from the filmmakers and game makers’ content.
This is almost as bad as forcing motion interpolation right out of the box.

The fact is when you walk into Best Buy every tv is set at peek brightness to appeal to the average consumer. They see a bright display and think it’s amazing. The videophiles who watch Vincent aren’t those customers. They want true picture quality that the director intended. That’s all Vincent is pointing out. I certainly think accurate honest reviews are more important. Most - most I think people that watch and follow you are enthusiasts who prefer an accurate picture over one that’s tricks ones eyes and mind.
I think that Samsung have done is their usual cheating, why they always feel the need to do this with various products is crazy (ie they always mock Apple in their own phone adverts how sad!)they have the ability to compete but turn to cheap tricks instead which is a real shame. Look at LG who were similar but pushed innovation and accuracy. There is a cultural problem at Samsung.

This is why I follow you... you do not hold back the truth! You tell it like it is, and that is what I look for! If I am going to spend $5000 on a TV, I want the best information about it so that I can get the most accurate for my money. Thank you Vincent! Keep up the great informative work that you do! You have increased my knowledge greatly!

It's funny how folks fight like babies over trivial things. When we hit 10,000 nits, all the standards will change anyways. You proved your calibration skills to me in this detailed explanation. Who am I? And especially who are folks like Quantum Apotheosis but average consumers without the real right to judge what you say when you have the proof? On the pro side you have it together. Keep up the great work. Thank you for your brutal honesty, never ever change.Very grateful, many apologies for any doubts.

Don't stop doing what you are doing just because you did one mistake by naming those sites! You did the right thing telling people the Q9FN problems, we don't want to lose the only great AV RUclipsr, you helped me and many others to understand the technical part of the video like EOTF and many things which I never fully understood in the written articles. You can stop making vids if you want to but don't stop making them because others said so

Up til now I avoided to share my personal data with Google by creating an account ... BUT, due to the unripe and inappropriate behaviours an honest reviewer had to face (who didn't deserve this...noone does), I decided to create one by now ... to be able to subscribe to this channel (my 1st subscription ever^^) ... Vincent, PLEASE continue to support us (your followers) as you did before ... we very much need hard FACTs including ALL Pros and Cons ... and NOT opinions or "eye-measurements"

very interesting and informative. If I were to stretch a little bit to draw parallels, this artificial bump in brightness is reminiscent to the "volume war" occurred in music production industry, where studios intentionally bumped up master volume level (in CD content, not player device) to the point of clipping out the subtle dynamics in the music, for the sole purpose of appealing to the average consumer who associated "loudness" with "better audio quality". Is it too much to say that it is the beginning of a very nasty trend should consumers allow it to manifest?

Dear Vincent - you are the most honest and likeable reviewer out there for TVs. I watch everything you put out, and your deep knowledge, warmth and sense of humour (ting!) always shine through, along with the sheer hard work and hours you devote to this. I do not accept your apology - because it's not warranted! Keep fighting the good fight. I agreed with everything you said in this video. Don't be deterred - be stronger - we're all here waiting for your next honest and considered review!

No Vincent, you did good. Samsung can’t get away with this. Content should be seen the way the makers intended it. I’m glad that you shook the AV world up, by being honest. That’s why you have a lot of followers. You’re honest, you’re humorous, you have a lot of educational videos and because of you I’m sure a lot of people buy quality instead of crap.

There’s no need to apologise. You backed up your information with facts. Expensive TVs should have as accurate picture as possible. Samsung Q9 is very expensive tv and should have more accurate picture. Why have missing highlight details for HDR.

I don't think you need to apologize to anyone. The reason people come to your channel is because you tell it how it is, and you base all your videos with as many facts as you can. Keep doing what you're doing. I sell TVs for a living and this is the only channel that help me with good info. All other websites and reviewers are either biased or don't know enough about what they are talking about.

Stick to your guns Vince, and continue to do all the work we appreciate you doing. I have invested in two displays this year based upon your reviews and opinions. We have so many choices when it comes to expensive TVs nowadays, so it’s important to have people like you objectively look at a tv and it’s features and determine if it’s a good buy or not. I have no time for “best tv of 2018!”, and completely gloss over things like not having Dolby vision support, bad color/brightness accuracy, etc. Again, thank you for the hard work and entertaining videos sir!

Keep it up, you are doing the right thing here!
The whole purpose for a calibration is watching what the content makers want us to see.. Not by manufacturers eyes or opinions.
There is a simple solution for this, to manufacturers :
"Just make an option or two in the menu list for your own interpretation of 'manufacturer's opinion - calibration' and explain that to your costumers" but still keeping the gold standard in the menu list as well.

Good video. Take a break and learn from this. You are right to call it out and we all respect you for that. My grand mother used to say: what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Important here is to do the right thing past and future from a technical and moral stand. Today is a great beginning!!! Keep well

I like many others appreciate your evaluations and supporting your opinions with graphs. You always make it clear that you are a purest and want the most accurate tracking possible. Other reviewers may have the graphs but ignore the data and just comment on their opinions of the PQ...as a consumer I have to question their conclusions wondering if they are being kind to a company who supports them. Recently, I watched a video that reviewed the Sony A8F by an established reviewer. It was so run of the mill that I could have said most of the same things from my home without having one. The Sony A1E and Sony A8F have almost identical performance...wow am I shocked. Your videos are unique in that you go into depth on your reviews and are willing to dive into the weeds. (Remember to wear protection when you go into the weeds.)

As a once massive avid Samsung TV user. I am glad you speak up about such things and never ever stop calling them out. I wont go into full detail but 1 tv i went through 9 before i got a good one and only last year i went through 12 tvs all of which were busted up either cosmetically or internally. Dont put nothing on the back burner just keep doing you. Keep up the great work

Opinion is one thing, trackable reality confirmed by other reviewers is another. You owe no one an apology, they owe us, the consumer, an apology for giving reviews with no value. I always wait for your opinion. I work in a store that sells these, your opinion is highly valued by many here! Keep up the amazing work!
