Is he was this honest with her on the preceeding episodes then maybe she won't doubt his love for her on season 2. When they argued she said " did you not love me anymore ? No. I was the only one loving you this whole time right? And he said " calm down ". He thought he could make her calm like he used to but it's different that time because he was actually stepping out and finally saw the bigger picture. His motives of marrying her , his love being less than what she is giving him. She also narrates that that's the question she was keeping at her heart because she was afraid to ask it and accept it fully. That's why she questioned him she asks why did you marry me when i am the only one who makes effort in this tiring relationship? Keita said he loves me and said i should leave you. You stopped loving me don't you ? Wait let me correct it you've never been in love with me in the first place ! Naoki didn't said a thing but when he heard it he was shocked. He was like what ? Are you serious ? So after all this time you didn't feel how much i love you ? Despite me breaking my walls for you ? I know i am not always the best husband but i am trying my best , i know i had to change and i really tried. And yet you ask me why i married you and didn't believe me being in love with you. It was like my efforts and decisions for the past years that has been centered around you was a lie. After she run out he expressed his distress and called out for her name. When he was already alone. He was still holding on to that door. He stands opposite of it and he bends his leg a little bit. A sure sign he was loosing hope to ever fix this. That was the first time he really considered her being away from him for good. Him loosing her completely. He cried on that scene. And he even closed his eyes.
So in the original Taiwanese version (It started with a Kiss, and They Kissed again), at the end of They Kissed again, Naoki (Zhi Shu in that version) shows Kotoko (Xiang Qin) his office at the hospital, and in it is literally all the things she's given him since she moved in with him (except for food), even things she thought he never got. I don't know where he kept them until the office, but she had NO IDEA, and really neither did the audience, and they had been married for a while at that point, so they were sharing a room. Seriously it's like an easter egg hunt trying to remember all the things, and when she gave them. The letter is there, a pillow she made him, a diorama she gave him when he was living in his apartment by himself etc. It's the sweetest scene, and he finally finds her there after looking for her for two days.
If you've never watched these two versions, I highly recommend them, they are WAY more detailed than any other version. Each season took a year to film, and they did an AMAZING job.

When he confessed that she made his life more exciting it made me think of another anime/tv trope where the popular girl pays attention to the boring nerd. Kotoko isn’t exactly popular but she does have friends and Naoki is indeed a boring nerd except in this drama he has a handsome face. So I think of this as a sort of spin on that trope (or maybe this came first?)

Can you do a video please about the matter regarding Kotoko and Keita and how badly Naoki handled the issue of another man making the moves on his wife? Naoki really made her suffer for a long time over this because he is so bad dealing with matters of jealousy. Thanks in advance. I know the channel is mainly about Kotoko and Naoki, but can you do an analysis of Yuki and Konomi? The two couples are so similar that we may take the similarities for granted, but I feel there are subtle differences between them.

Naoki keeps his cards close to his chest while Kotoko wears her heart on her sleeve (but she also keeps secret those intimate moments they share and his ability to confide in her opinion).
but it still a red flag for me, i mean he literally hoping she can follow the game of his mind and he thought she will...lmaooo but dang when its failed he just like twirl the word. (But because this is fiction and fun manga adaptation i enjoy it so i hope u can also analyzing the SEASON 2!! i just want to knowing how actually their marriage works)
