I love how honest and straightforward johnny and his employees are. No drama just straightforward, honest people working on cars. Love what you guys do, look forward to every video
Jonny is my favourite car technician on youtube. Always gets to the point. Less talking, and more work. Most of all, he's a very humble guy, and never complains or is rude to his team!.👍👍👍💞
Love how there is no wasted movement as Jonny works. His tools go exactly where the bolts and clips are and go into motion immediately. It's almost like he's been there before. 😁
I really enjoy the attitude of all your employees. Everyone working together to complete the days tasks. As someone that runs a company I can say that is not an easy task to accomplish. Well done Ninja and your crew!
Great to see a shop showing us actual work being when you watch the car wizard shop he talks about what needs done but you never see any of it bring done the only time you seen work was when he was doing his boat
Why I no longer am subbed to his channel. Between not showing any work and his constant (and unnecessary) touting of "how it's so great that Omega will do this work and do so correctly", I got bored and annoyed. Love this channel, Jonny and his crew!
Yeah that channel is super boring and no to talk about all the junk that he talks about. Like i dont want no freaking car review, show me the work you doing
We appreciate the kind words. I would argue that Car Wizard is doing something right, their channel's viewership is quite large. At the end of the day, though....for Car Ninja, we just do our normal work and happen to record it and put it out there for people to see. For better or worse. That being said, we understand that we'll never have an audience the size of Car Wizard's, and we're ok with that...we're just happy that enough of you are interested in what we do for us to keep making videos. That's the only reason we keep doing it. Thanks again!
I really appreciate the soft kick ass attitude that the Jonny supper dude exudes ...I am positive that you have told everyone in the world except me were you came from...I am first generation American and love it...Dad was from Berlin
Johny, we do the engine mounts on the minis, X1s and X2s with the B46 by removing the right front wheel arch liners, and pulling it through from the bottom. Takes practice, but well worth it. No need to crack A/C lines, or touch the hood latch assembly/crossmembers. This repair is becoming more and more common unfortunately
I keep hearing other videos mention some 8mm bolts that need to be removed (in addition to the 5 main ones??) Would you happen to know where those are, or are people doing more than necessary concerning that?
Jonny is a genius getting into these german cars...Super expensive to fix and even the newer-ish ones (like that AUDI RS7) break fairly often....He has mastered the art, and passed it down to his other techs...What a business model! Find the most expensive vehicles, that have constant issues and MASTER them....CHA-CHING! Shout out to Ninja, Mike and the squad!
2008 Audi RS4 Cabriolet - good times! Owned one in Misano Red with Gray interior, which is better than a black interior when the top goes down and the sun is shining down all day while carving through canyon roads. That's what that car did best. It wasn't the most spirited off the line with only 318 ft-lb TQ from the 4.2 V8, despite the 6-spd manual, unless I wanted to beat-up the clutch.
Johnny the motor mount on the F55 can be snuck out without recovering the a/c if you unclip the white plastic holder off the mount and carefully pull it away without breaking it, as for the headlight It looked like you didn't take it out all the way because of the stupidly held in nut, in the future what I do is I hit the bolts with a torch lighter for a few seconds and that degrades the factory loctite and makes the bolt a lot easier to spin out- impact drivers are the worst on them. Hope this helps you in the future, we do one at least once a week over here, sometimes two or three and sometimes we're all fighting for the last one in stock.
Little tip for Johnny. Those red locktitle holding the headlight no need to touch them. Drop the engine all the way down .and no need to touch the AC system on the mini.for BMW engine mount .turn the mount and you can get it out. Three cylinder mini are really easy to come out. Four cylinder mini a little harder to get out. BMW one just take the fender liner out .never touch those headlight usually can get down 1hour . warranty paid 2 .customer paid 5
@Car Ninja The trick to those MINI upper engine mounts is to heat up the back of the headlight bolts. This will allow you to remove the headlight almost every time with no problem (without the nut spinning on you). From there the mount is a piece of cake.
I enjoy watching you work on some very difficult and expensive cars and make it look almost routine . My question is why do I never so far see your shop use fender covers ?
I had a F55 for a few years, and not that it was problematic at all (though I spec'd it w the nicest interior of any car I've owned) but I can honestly say I don't miss it much at all.
On the F56 that mounts sooo easy I was glad to be able to do it in 15-20 min. But now my car wants to stall out and put out less power not sure whats up its the S All4 2017. I have 144,000 on it. Been a great car I just did plugs and 2 more coils. I got a new waste gate in and same issue. I have no idea whats going on other than now I don’t smell exhaust. No codes are coming up.
I laugh at my friend's MINI repair stories, every time it needed a part replaced always took a few days and cost zillion. On they forth major service they got the engine out and replaced everything, alternator, belt, belt tensioner, air con compressor, dryer, expansion valve, engine mounts, clutch, front and back engine seals, valves cover gasket, and on and on. Why he did all this, it is his better half car. HaHa!
God…I have to change the same mount on my Mini (suggested to remove the headlight for easy access tho). I hate it’s a “common failure” almost as a maintenance item (just like the water pumps on VAGs).
I wonder why exactly the RS7 was misfiring because of "a tune." I don't know Audi tuning very well is there a company that unlocks the ECU (or whatever German acronym they use)? The exhaust was mean sounding which I like but the misfiring is strange. Follow up video would be good to see.
Anybody here that can help me with my E90 with N55. I replaced my engine recently and it has had issues like a failed pcv valve and bad injector. Now my latest issue is that when I put the car in gear it stalls? It does this once then drives just fine like no issues. I had a bad pcv valve and that has helped with an idle issue but i am stumped with the engine stalling. it’s a 2011 335i with n55 and automatic trans. Any advice would be appreciated.
I wanted your opinion Car Ninja, I would love to see if I can get myself a used EV car, without Tesla being mentioned, as I cannot afford a Tesla, and personally would neve ever think to buy one even if I could. Any other recommendations?
Look into BMW i3. The pure EV version (80+ miles of range depending on the year) is pretty bulletproof since no ICE engine to fail or leak oil from, lol. But there is also a version with a REX (range extender - small 2 cyl engine that can charge the battery when needed for extra range). The nice thing is their battery is water cooled (like in a Tesla), so it lasts longer than air cooled Leaf batteries that are prone to overheat and fail prematurely. They also have 8 year/100K miles battery warranty for extra peace of mind. I would advice against 2014 REX model with low miles but anything 2015 and up is a safe bet. The only drawback is tires are weird size so only one option available that costs $800 for a set of 4. Good luck!
German cars were supposed to be good I thought, but it seems the more modern ones all have issues with quality, design and unreliable technology. Is the VW Golf still a reliable car, anyone know?
Imagine how much business has come in since Tyler Hoover showed the world how good of a BMW mechanic car ninja is.
I'm not sure, but it would be interesting to find out!
Anyone workng on bmw's will always be endlesly busy with repairs.these are built to be 3 year trade ins from new. After that ? Constant repairs.
I'm sure he did more than fine before, but I personally didn't take my Audi until learning about the shop from watching Hoovie and JRGO.

Honestly this is much more entertaining to watch than the Car Wizard.
You aren't entertained by his wife explaining the whole interior on every damn car they work on?
Can't imagine how much tougher this past week would've been for the team if they hadn't built the bigger parking lot!

On my early Mini, you had to take out the radiator, to change the water pump
Pls make a ''Engineers did not have enouth beer when designing it'' t-shirt :D
you dont need to remove the intake to do the thermostat housing on the audi TFSI.
We do so many of those mini/bmw engine mounts we can do them in like an hour, you gotta take the wheel off and fender liner and it slides right out
You can do those without doing any of that. Just in the headlights and boom . Takes me 25 minutes but because i mastered at the dealership
