Wish they would bring him or someone like him back the generic, bland, cookie cutter music they give people now is such a turn off after having grown up with entrance music for guys like batista, randy and sexy boy etc.
My favorite all time has to be “Slow Chemical” by Finger Eleven. Just perfect for Kane at the time and made him truly feel like a monster. A few more contenders for me are Shinsuske Nakamura’s “The Rising Sun”, Baron Corbin’s “I bring the Darkness”, The Brood theme and “Broken Dreams for Drew McIntyre.
My only problem with Slow Chemical is that the intro is too long, usually taking up Kane's entire entrance. The lyrics would only come in once he's in the ring and the song needs to fade out. So the entrance is kind of a let down, building up to a climax that never comes. Maybe if it was made shorter for the entrance, like RVD's? Just as a song, it's great of course.
@hihi-heart I totally agree, sometimes it takes too long and it’ll stop before it has a chance to get going but other times, especially this entrance on August 11th 2003 it’s just perfect. ruclips.net/video/9P9ikldSjq8/видео.htmlsi=Sh-eVrVh07CG3Khd
Interestingly it was originally written for a wrestler called The Patriot, and was given to Kurt because The Patriot didn’t last and Kurt needed a theme tune.
Cena did the writing and rapping for both his of themes as well. But I’m pre sure joe hendry also did his own production of the song Wich is really impressive
Also, funny enough, Chris Jericho's aew theme. I have a hunch the next list is gonna be very WWE centric though. (which is fine. Talk about what you know)
Jeff Hardy’s Theme “no more words“ will always be something I come back to the video is just as iconic as this song well maybe not but I can never get it out of my head when I play the song Not WWE but AJ Styles old TNA “Get Ready to Fly” is up there, I don’t care what nobody say
Wrestling theme songs are literally goated for workouts in the gym, they hype you up like nothing else. My all time favorites are Benoit's Whatever at absolute no. 1, followed by CM Punk's This Fire Burns and then Edge's Metalingus and Orton's Burn in my Lights. Then there is Slow Chemical, Lesnar's theme, Roman's heel theme, Stone Cold's Disturbed theme absolutely slaps, DX's Run DMC version oh how can I forget NWO and NWO Wolfpac themes and so much more.
This Fire Burns is so clear man. Burn in my lights is a classic too. Idk if I prefer it just due to nostalgia though but I've started to get bored of Voices
I do hope Joe Hendry at least gets a mention in Part 2. Not only for the big song that became a meme. But his entire career in general he's been doing original songs and parodies as theme music usually referencing his opponent
Honestly: Bray Wyatt's Shatter theme (his last theme) was and still is one of my favorite themes ever! Such a good song and it became heartbreaking to me, when Bray passed away
I was praying you mentioned Metalingus by Alter Bridge! One of the best wrestling theme songs in history (Edges theme), and its is its own song outside of WWE. The entire song is good outside of the hook. Fit the rated r superstar sooo well
I would say my number one qualifier for what makes a great wrestling theme, which as you note doesn't always makes for great everyday music, is that sting. It's the needle drop for the entrance that helps makes a performer iconic, or to put it in a very wrestling way, it's the "glass break" test of what makes an iconic wrestling theme.
I'm not sure how far you've ever ventured outside of WWE, but other wrestling promotions have some excellent music too. My favourite entrance track from outside of the WWE is NJPW's Taichi, who uses Pageant by Moi Dix Mois, doing a Phantom of the Opera type of entrance. It's pretty incredible. When it comes to wrestling music, I think there are four big factors. First and foremost, is the most subjective of them all. How good is the song? This is where real bands have an undeniable advantage. Second, that first 1.5 seconds of the song. The glass break, "You think you know me?", the Undertaker's gong, that first guitar riff on The Game. These are all standouts in this category of some of the greatest entrance tracks of all time. It is *so* important as a wrestling fan to be able to know who is coming out within 2 seconds of that music playing so you can get that peak crowd reaction. Third, how well does it fit their character? Pretty self-explanatory. What does the track tell you about their wrestling style or personality? Forth, hype. How much the music gets you amped up, also critical.
A brilliant example of both the second and the third is Okada's coin drop. Short, distinctive and says money like nothing else does, perfectly in line with the Rainmaker.
I feel that WCW's old theme music could get glossed over with most of them being glaring clones of actual songs like DDP's theme being a "Smells Like Teen Spirit" clone for example.
Chris Jericho’s break the walls down is so perfect ! His theme song is the main reason why I am one of his biggest fan and his in ring quality is so class. I am so glad that you have become a wrestling fan . I began casually following it but then fully got invested when CM Punk come through ❤️ and have been following it regularly . I am also so glad you put mark Henry on this list , he is up there for me too. Please include my three 🐐s Batista, Randy and CM Punk
Some of my own favorite wrestling themes come from Japan. Kenta Kobashi's theme "Grand Sword" that he used in All Japan Pro Wrestling and Pro Wrestling NOAH, the late Hayabusa's epic "Fight With Dream" theme from FMW, "PARTY ANTHEM" for Natural Vibes in Dragongate, phenomenal stuff that pump me up after a good therapy session or after a rough day at work
I love Shinsuke Nakamura's "The Rising Sun", but one day I stumbled across his New Japan "Subconscious" theme, and was amazed that it was just as good.
There actually is sort of another category of music pre existing tv music being used as wrestling themes, Goldberg's wcw theme is probably the most famous example of this his theme "invasion" actually was written for a series called the world at war which like wcw was a turner network production.
Cult of Personality will always be number 1 for me. already a great song, & it fits punk’s character perfectly. it’s also pretty funny it took years for cm punk to have a themesong that’s actually a punk song
honorable mention: Sky High by Jigsaw has been popular in Mexico because of the song's affiliation with Mil Máscaras, a popular luchador enmascarado who used the song for his entrances. ⚡️✨⚡️
Imo, the GODDAMN BEST theme Jim Johnson ever made, was the Ministry of Darkness. The guitar, the trumpets, the chanting, the climax of the song. And then the titantron. Fucking beautiful
My favorite pro wrestling theme time will always be Triple H’s My Time. That theme is one of the greatest of all time and every time I hear it, I feel like a badass claiming the throne.
I went into this video thinking " yeah i mean theres some good ones " but by the end im absolutely hooked. SO MANY GOOD SONGS. I remember buying an official WWE soundtrack album called Wreckless Intent. Full of bangers. Mike Knox, Kane, & Edge need to mentioned in the next video!
“In case you forgot, or fell off, I'm still hot, knock your shell off My money stack fat, plus I can't turn the swell off The franchise doing big business, I live this Is automatic I win this so you hear those horns you finished”. YOU CANT TELL ME MANS WAS NOT FLOWING!!!!
I know Chris Jericho was always supposed to be a “heel” type character but I loved his entrance so much that it didn’t matter to me lol. I remember being at an event when I was younger and cheering for him when he came out to have people look back at me like I was a lunatic😂🤣
Metalingus (edge's intro) is the GOAT of all intros. The "you think you know me" sting to the guitar to the chorus it's all perfect. Also a fan of Becky lynch's intro
Hulk Hogan’s “Voodoo Child” by Jimi Hendrix, Kane’s “Slow Chemical” by Finger Eleven, Stone Cold’s “Glass Shatters” by Disturbed, Edge’s “Metalingus” by Alter Bridge & Triple H’s “The Game” by Motörhead are my top 5. I also like CM Punk’s “Cult of Personality” by Living Colour, Randy Orton’s “Burn In My Light” & “Voices” by Rev Theory & Richard Luzzi, Undertaker’s “Rollin’” by Limp Bizkit & Batista’s “I Walk Alone” by Saliva.
It was another way to come across as the rebel promotion in wrestling. Enter Sandman, Thunderkiss 65, Walk, Man In the Box, Perfect Strangers, etc all made an ECW fan remember the wrestler
You also gotta check out these other female superstar theme songs, all hits too - (Victoria) Don't Mess With by Nicki Minaj -(Victoria) All The Things She Said by taTu - (Trish Stratus) Time to Rock n' Roll by Lil' Kim - (Lita) LoveFuryPassionEnergy - (Christy Hemme) Walk Idiot Walk - (Stacy Keibler) Legs - (Paige) Stars in The Night - (Rhea Ripley) Brutality
If you watch any Jim Johnston interview about his experience and songwriting process for wrestlers it’s really interesting to watch. He’s also said many times that he’s not a fan of pro wrestling so getting someone to write music for a wrestler from the prospective of a non-wrestling fan is a creative genius that only he could really come up with. Unfortunately, new entrance music today is super unoriginal and bland at this point that part of that magic is now gone
What made CFO$ so good to me was their understanding of how important a recognizable first note is, nearly every theme they made is instantly recognizable in the first second. Def Rebel never understood this and killer the hype for many entrances.
Alfo I can't help but respect this dive into wrestling theme's and I'm expecting part 2 to have some bangers. Both of randy orton's are great reflections of his characters. Ryder's radio is such a cheesy melodic bro song that sums up him perfectly. I walk alone is legendary. Ziggler's here to show the world is such a cocky rock anthem. And my personal favorite Kane's slow chemical is a great haunting remix of his OG theme by Finger Eleven.
i feel like a good wrestling theme song can encapsulate a character so well that we really haven't seen storytelling in music like it since baroque music
For anyone wanting to here some wrestling music outside of wwe that rocks, Minoru Suzukis theme is peak, Jon Moxly’s death rider theme, Claudio castagnoli, Darby Allin, Daniel Garcia, Bryan Danielson, and a ton more from Japanese and other American promotions like njpw and aew rock
When I saw this pop up 👀. Just wanna pop in the comments to thank you for doing this and also rave about Oba Femi’s theme and how his entire entrance and presentation is gonna be absolutely incredible one day at Mania
fun fact: brand new sins lead singer, joe altier, does the vocals for big show's aew theme (with show now by his real name, paul wight). also jericho uses his own music in aew as he comes out to judas (and now spotlight) from his band, fozzy. (well know this, but thought id mention it)
Bops I hope make the top list - Edge - Metalingus - Randy Orton - Voices - Batista - Walk alone - Kane - Burned or Slow Chemical (both were perfect for him.) Kurt Angle - Medal
My favourites 1 kane slow chemical 2 edge's theme 3 chris benoit 4 orton burnin light 5 rvd one of a kind 6 cesaro swiss rap 7 shelton benjamin theme 8 brock lesnar theme 9 real american 10 christain theme song.
Off the top of my head some of my favorite themes: RVD - One of a kind Sandman - WWE theme DX theme Stone Cold theme Bret Hart theme Mr Mcmahon theme Nwo theme Booker T theme Can you dig it? SUUUCKAAAAA!!!
Mark Henry theme is one of the best! 3 6 mafia! I love the hook and the track was insane gets you hype I used it as my there in all the video games that mark Henry was in I switch his out and right away and it was assigned to my guy
i definitely love the ruthless aggression era of theme songs when they brought in so many bands, voices for randy orton absolutely comes to mind! this fire burns by killswitch engage for cm punk is probably my favourite theme as an outside song, so i love seeing when new themes have that full song vibe on the rare chance they occur now like kingdom. it hurts a little that rhea brought in a band for her theme and its very obviously not a full length song haha
I couldn't see the upside of downloading upside until I turned my device upside down, thus pointing the up side down and once I had upside downloaded I turned my device upside down again (which turned the downside up) and now with the downside up, upside downloaded and having noted the upside of upside down. I was down with upside!
One of my personal favorite category of wrestling themes, that I doubt will get mentioned here much, would be some classic 80s, 90s & 2000s Japanese Wrestling theme songs, some of which that either have this overdramatic video game boss aura around them, that the likes of Masahiro Chono, Keiji Muto/Great Muta, Kenta Kobashi, Mitsuharu Misawa, Toshiaki Kawada, Jun Akiyama or Jushin Thunder Liger used. And also the songs that the likes of Antonio Inoki, Tiger Mask or Hiroshi Hase used, that are just incredibly catchy with the vibes their having.
3 Count’s “Can't Get You Out Of My Hart” is an S tier Entrance theme. 1. Its sounds like a song written for a Boy Band (I.e. LFO, 98 Dreeges or O-Town) 2. It's one of Jimmy Hart's best works and its perfectly designed to get heel heat
I love to see someone love music and wrestling like me perfect video! Some tips for the next video about the subject: you can talk about the evolution of a wrestler sometimes leads to an evolution of a theme song like Christian’s (WWE) or John cena.

1:44 This is not necessarily accurate. Jim Johnston specifically wrote "The Game", Motorhead only performed it. Same for his songs with Disturbed and Rev Theory. I think the other thing you need to mention is the use of production music. Like Cactus Jack's famous entrance music is actually just television production music yet become iconic because it was associated with him.
I’ve been collecting wrestling entrance music (mostly WWE) for about 25 years, and you definitely seem to “get” it more than many people I’ve seen :) A couple of additions to sources for the music: - This kind of ties in with #3 but a lot of entrance themes are licensed from production music libraries, which is cheaper than licensing commercially-released music. There’s many famous themes that are stock music, like Booker T’s “Rap Sheet”, Goldberg’s “Invasion”, the Hardy Boyz’ “Loaded”, and the NWO’s “Rockhouse”. - A handful of themes are commissioned and owned by the wrestlers themselves. Cody Rhodes’ “Kingdom” was made specifically for him by Downstait, and he owns the rights to it. The original version of R-Truth’s “What’s Up” was produced by and is owned by him, which is why he was able to take it with him from TNA to WWE. A few recommendations of more obscure entrance music that are great songs in themselves (IMO, of course): - “Come On (Sean O’Haire Mix)” by Waterproof Blonde (Sean O’Haire) - “Misunderstood” by Jim Johnston ft. Sean Kristopher (Trevor Murdoch) - “Hurt You” by Jim Johnston ft. Chibi of The Birthday Massacre (Katie Lea Burchill) - “Enchanted Isle” by Jim Johnston (Primo & Epico) - “Black or White” by Bleeding in Stereo from the Jingle Punks music library (Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel)
I feel like in general, the 90s and early 00s are back. Kids are going to malls again. Wrestling is once again popular. The early 00s aesthetic is popular. I'm here for it.
At first I thought a lot of the Jim Johnston WWE songs with lyrics were actual songs that you could hear on the radio. They were that good and didn't know they were made in house until later on (though some use external music).
Whatever by Our Lady Peace will always be my favorite wrestling theme song. Sure, it's associated with *[NAME REDACTED BY WWE]* , but damn, it suited his theme well to him, especially his last two years in wrestling after the death of his friend Eddie Guerrero, and what happened to him afterwards.
People always ask me what music I listen to, and I have to say none and they are shocked, because it would be harder to explain my giant library of Pro Wrestling Entrance Themes that I listen to mostly.
I have to say, a lot of the time I listen to entrance music outside of wrestling, it's from Japanese promotions like NJPW and NOAH. Their production teams just *get* it the most for me. There's nothing likke the huge chant of GO ACE! as Hiroshi Tanahashi enters the arena, usually treated like he's the most beloved human being ever to walk the Earth.

I agree, Slow chemical is so fucking good!
For me slow chemical and somebody's gonna get it for Mark Henry. One had sick monster music other had great lyrical monstrosity

@ yeah they could have just done like one loop of the guitar riff instead of the whole like 30 seconds.
The Kurt Angle theme song was a all time hit
Not only that but the fans put their own spin on it with the You Suck! chant going along with the beat taking it next level really
Interestingly it was originally written for a wrestler called The Patriot, and was given to Kurt because The Patriot didn’t last and Kurt needed a theme tune.
His TNA theme was fantastic as well

When I saw this pop up 👀. Just wanna pop in the comments to thank you for doing this and also rave about Oba Femi’s theme and how his entire entrance and presentation is gonna be absolutely incredible one day at Mania
Walter (now Gunther) coming out to symphony no. 9 is such a perfect match of wrestler and theme. Classical music with a classical technician.
fun fact: brand new sins lead singer, joe altier, does the vocals for big show's aew theme (with show now by his real name, paul wight).
also jericho uses his own music in aew as he comes out to judas (and now spotlight) from his band, fozzy. (well know this, but thought id mention it)
Speaking as a life long wrestling fan going on 20+ yrs and a subscriber, this video is a dream come true
The greatest wrestling theme of all time is “If you only knew” from the 1987 Super Slammy Awards.
The video is on RUclips and it’s an absolute treat.
Dude!!!!! I had no idea you were a WWE fan, I’ve been watching you for years and never once got that idea. I’d love to see more!!

Was not expecting this video. As a long time subscriber and a massive wrestling fan, this is my Endgame cause wow😂😂
love this video. mark henry and brays first theme are amongst my personal top 5
I would love to get another episode on this. There are so many wrestling songs that I find interesting.
Mark Henry theme is one of the best! 3 6 mafia! I love the hook and the track was insane gets you hype I used it as my there in all the video games that mark Henry was in I switch his out and right away and it was assigned to my guy
i definitely love the ruthless aggression era of theme songs when they brought in so many bands, voices for randy orton absolutely comes to mind! this fire burns by killswitch engage for cm punk is probably my favourite theme as an outside song, so i love seeing when new themes have that full song vibe on the rare chance they occur now like kingdom. it hurts a little that rhea brought in a band for her theme and its very obviously not a full length song haha
man the themes were the thing that initially got me into wrestling when I was a kid
The ultimate warrior being the “living embodiment of cocaine” took me out 😂💀
I couldn't see the upside of downloading upside until I turned my device upside down, thus pointing the up side down and once I had upside downloaded I turned my device upside down again (which turned the downside up) and now with the downside up, upside downloaded and having noted the upside of upside down.
LFO, 98 Dreeges or O-Town)
2. It's one of Jimmy Hart's best works and its perfectly designed to get heel heat
Never been a wrestling fan, but somehow, I always find it interesting to learn about its lore
Missing Cult of Personality is wild to me, that’s the best theme ever in my eyes
This is like worlds colliding, I could watch hours of this
I love to see someone love music and wrestling like me perfect video!

I’ve been collecting wrestling entrance music (mostly WWE) for about 25 years, and you definitely seem to “get” it more than many people I’ve seen :)
A couple of additions to sources for the music:
- This kind of ties in with #3 but a lot of entrance themes are licensed from production music libraries, which is cheaper than licensing commercially-released music.
A few recommendations of more obscure entrance music that are great songs in themselves (IMO, of course):
- “Come On (Sean O’Haire Mix)” by Waterproof Blonde (Sean O’Haire)
- “Misunderstood” by Jim Johnston ft. Sean Kristopher (Trevor Murdoch)
- “Hurt You” by Jim Johnston ft. Chibi of The Birthday Massacre (Katie Lea Burchill)
- “Enchanted Isle” by Jim Johnston (Primo & Epico)
- “Black or White” by Bleeding in Stereo from the Jingle Punks music library (Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel)
I feel like in general, the 90s and early 00s are back. Kids are going to malls again. Wrestling is once again popular. The early 00s aesthetic is popular. I'm here for it.
Shinsuke nakamuras theme is a work of art
At first I thought a lot of the Jim Johnston WWE songs with lyrics were actual songs that you could hear on the radio. They were that good and didn't know they were made in house until later on (though some use external music).
Sheamus Hellfire theme was on my actual gym playlist forever
Whatever by Our Lady Peace will always be my favorite wrestling theme song. Sure, it's associated with *[NAME REDACTED BY WWE]* , but damn, it suited his theme well to him, especially his last two years in wrestling after the death of his friend Eddie Guerrero, and what happened to him afterwards.
Not a theme song but Jeff Jarrett's country song "with my baby tonight" could probably be in the country charts today.
I heard the guy that did Cena's theme also did Kurt Angles theme from TNA. Its pretty good!
NGL I've recently been bumping the AEW theme of the The Hurt Syndicate with Westside Gunn. WE HURT PEOPLE🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
People always ask me what music I listen to, and I have to say none and they are shocked, because it would be harder to explain my giant library of Pro Wrestling Entrance Themes that I listen to mostly.
The trippiest thing was always thinking wrestlers sung their themes (I know some did) because the vocals sounded just like them.
HBK
To me, 'Walk' by Pantera will always be Rob van Dam's best theme from his ECW days, one that AEW brought back when he popped up there.
