- These settings matched with an ND filter will make everything look super smooth and sharp, perfect for post production which is where most of my color grading is done. Hopefully this helped!

I'm going to though this out there, if your wanting the best image possible its advisable to shoot the flattest image possible i.e. use a custom style -2,-2,-1, D-log or D-Cinelike as a colour profile and try shooting at a shutter speed 2x your frame rate, i.e. 30fps = 1/60 shutter speed. This should give you the best picture to work with in post and a smooth more cine-like motion blur. If you give it a go let me know what you think. Take it easy!
The phantom 4 is just a bit obsolete???...i don't think so i think you will find the p4 is better in many ways than the mavic...the only advantage of the mavic is portability
Shooting in D-log will give you more flexibility in post than with none, but your image will look flat if you don't adjust it in post. So use D-log if you are sure you will adjust the video in post. None, if you aren't planning to touch it.
Thanks for the video! Helped me a lot!
Hello, I'm new into the filter world for drones, but I recently ordered the ND Vivid/ PL for my P4P. So my question is are these setting compatible to the ND 8 vivid filters? Last question. What setting should I use with my ND 4 and ND 16. Thanks
Where do you get the ND filters?
Hey love the vids I just got a phantom 4. Can you do a video on how to upload and edit on a Mac for 4k video on RUclips
+billy cc If you'd like to shoot me a private message I could explain it to you!
never mind, found your camera settings. I will try these settings with the filters.
+kpboix99 Gotcha. Some of the best in my opinion, those are the settings I use on all of my videos featuring the Phantom 4
Awesome, Billy. Thanks for taking the time to help us "newbies" learn. If I don't have a 4K TV, would shooting in 4K be a waste of space on my SD card? Would I shoot 1080p in that circumstance? Thanks for your help.
Shooting at 1080p may be beneficial, but if you get a 4K TV down the road then it may look blurry. Also, if you share it with someone who has a 4K TV then it could look blurry on their end. I just like shooting in the highest resolution possible. I have a 128gb SD card so depending on your capacity that could be a factor as well.
I love shooting in 4k regardless of my export settings, simply because having the extra pixels and space can give you a lot of flexibility to move things around, straighten the horizon, frame the shot, and stabilize it in post.
+Chris Meese Perfectly said
Billy Kyle takes me to my next question.. I've heard 64gb was the highest card for Phantom and Mavic. That came straight from them.. If that's the case, I'm getting a 128gb
+R M I have used a 128gb card with no problem. Once you put it into the phantom make sure to format it
hi Billy please do a video on phantom 4 pro TIME LAPSE ' , the MODE UNDER pic/ PIC we get Single pic, Burst AEB AND TIMED max 60 sec, Can i use this mode to do a time lapse
That's going up Sunday or Monday
there is the possibility of changing the aperture of the camera's diaphragm I want to know this because it interests me a lot but I can't find it anywhere?
Thanks bro...
I have my settings almost the same but when i fly half fast or pan around I still get choppiness and it isnt smooth like yours. Not sure what else I am missing here.
your video look a little bit brighter... Should I mass with a Brightness on my drone??? My video look a little bit darker and waaaay darker than I had from DJI3Pro... Its a frustrating...
I have a Phantom 4 Pro and on my camera settings I use RAW but when I view the image on my laptop it shows as JPG. Thoughts? Suggestions?
is that Bethlehem steel factory?
Phantom 4 absolite?
Billy what do you prefere mavic pro or phantom 4? What is the best profesional?
Check out the new Mavic 2 Pro that was just released!
Is it 12 megapixels?
Is that Bethlehem Steel plant in Bethlehem, PA towards the end of your video? I'm in Nazareth.
Billy, what do you have your RTH set as? I notice you fly around some pretty big buildings. Just curious as to what is a happy medium height? I know it really depends on where you fly, but I do know you should not exceed 400ft. I'm wondering if 300 ft would be a happy medium?
+R M 300ft would work, I usually set mine to 400 just in case. On the P4P I also use the smart RTH which flies along the path previous flown, if that makes sense.
Billy Kyle makes perfect sense. Is that an option on the Mavic? The fly back on the same path?
+R M I don't believe so, unfortunately
Does this drone shoot raw videos or not?
For some reason most of the pics taken on my Mavik Pro have exaggerated unrealistic colour even though the colour is set to none so no filters or colour boost or anything - do you have an idea why that might be?
I have noticed the same thing. It's sort of like an orangeish tint, right?
yes! So how do you deal with it?
I haven't found a work around, which sucks.
i dont have none option it says normal
My phantom 4 for some reason takes terrible blurry pictures, but when recording everything looks crystal clear and sharp. What could be the reason why?? I'm going crazy trying to figure it out.
Daniela Baigorri RAW mode for pictures is recommended because it has more information or details than JPEG. You'll also notice a difference when you film in the RAW.
Hi,I’m having same issue. Did you fix the issue....
Can someone help me? I never had problems but since a few months my pictures and video's are white, over white! www.mupload.nl/img/oliqnvafuzwry.jpg How can i fix this? I have a DJI phantom 4
Dream drones Curaçao pictures and videos are over exposed, lower your ISO all the way down to 100 and increase the shutter speed (the smaller the fraction the more increased the shutter speed is just btw)
P4 is not going out of style yet, not untill the p5 comes out lol haha, i know that the p4 pro is out but its only a little better then the p4 and the maverick well ill keep with my p4 only because its a money thing LOL
+Trippintim05 Agreed!
The P4 Pro is actually way better than the P4 due to its bigger sensor. Sadly I bought the P4 before the P4 Pro was out
ntsc is for us format is you tray watch ntsc on uk everting is show Black & White . you need convert to Pal
+Reginaldo Costa That's what I figured. Thanks for the clarification!
I live in Europe and use NTSC with 30fps, no problems.

Great vid, have you considered trying out DLOG? It is meant to be a flat color profile that provides the best basis for extensive color correction in post. Just a thought though, shooting in none allows you to color grade much quicker! Here's my first video from my Phantom, it required a whole lot of time in post to get how I wanted, but I was able to really control the contrast and colors since I shot in DLOG: ruclips.net/video/WLDrufZNAkI/видео.html
Looks great, good setting for the video too. Ill have to give it a try, I used to use it but recently switched to none.
Was gonna say the same thing, I have Cine-D on my G7 camera, but D-LOG is very similar, basically what you said, flatter color profile, better for color grading.
There is so much wrong in this video it hurts me... "Color profiles are basically instagram filters"
"Best possible camera settings" = Learn basic photography principals and apply them on your drone.
too many experts......
for a start basic rules of dirivative frame rate??
people like to lip flap when they should shed the self importance and actually learn some stuff.
Within the first minute I stopped watching. All these new drone people know nothing about photography/videos
Ian Appleton spoken like a truly arrogant pompous ass. Congratulations
