yes, there is a BIG difference between those countries, thank you for the correction - if Spyderco's knife isnt from Seki Japan, I would much prefer Taiwan over China.
Unfortunately, 60 % to 70 % of people in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA have never been out of the USA and the conquests of this is that they have no idea or understand of the majority of the world's other countries which comprises of a larger scale much much much larger than the USA on a world basis
Way to go on blasting past 1K! The only thing that prevented me (and still does) from pulling the trigger on the Valloton was the Nick Shabazz disassembly - just went beyond my relatively infantile patience meter. Nice look at a few Taichung models! I think Schempp also did the Tuff with Spyderco. Thanks CNF✌👊
Spyderco has a sprint run of the Subvert that will be hitting the shelves soon. I talked to the Spyderco rep at blade show. It is in preproduction now. The rep told me he would guess it is a couple months out. I forget the blade steel, but it had really nice carbon fiber scales.
I recently got hold of a Watu which is also from Taichung and am very pleased with it. For me it is an ideal lightweight EDC. Comes drop shut and slices like a laser being .1" stock 20CV and only 18/000 behind the edge.weighing 3oz's.
@@chucknunface man I was just looking at them and I'm not blaming you for parting ways. It looks incredible. At 400+ , I think there are other knives that take priority. I can see that thing easily being 270 new but then again...not having handled it, I'm likely under shooting its value a bit. 😎🤘
@Apex Alchemy I even say in the video that full retail on these is more than I'm will to pay for what it is. You know what to do if you're interested in this one.
taichung are clearly the best, i had many spydies and the only problems with teichung models are the weak detents on older flippers and the slightly sharp corners on non-stonewashed blades. usa is a close second, japan (aside from the moki made models) is overpriced and pretty crappy, china is also pretty bad when you compare fit'n'finish and materials to other chinese brands like civivi or qsp.
I just realized i said that spyderco uses China for they're top models, I meant to say Taiwan. 1:43

@Thomas Rickelman yes, very much so. Just a slip of the tongue.
Formosa/Taiwan is technically China., the republic of China..

Dude, I really like these kind of videos. 🤙🏽 Keep it up.
Thanks, man. I'll see how it goes.

I guess it's a good thing I didn't watch that video🤣 . Thanks, man!
Great video and congratulations on the milestone.
Thank you, dude!
Interested in the subvert, what ya thinking on adoption fee? Thanks
All fees considered it will likely run about 340
That Subvert is amazing. All three are beautiful, but that Subvert tickles my nethers.
Haha. It's pretty cool

@@jasonhuiting5193 Thanks for the heads up. I need to get to saving.
jason huiting it's 20cv. Not my favorite, but spyderco usually nails ht. I heard price is 420, but unclear on that

Sounds like a nice performing knife.
Killer blades!! I really want the Vallaton. I think it's the best lookin Spydey made&that Bowie is a close 2nd. Killer vid!!
The Vallotton has impressed me way more than I thought it would. I really enjoy it and I'm glad I got one.
I could be wrong , but I thought Jake got a regrind on the subvert. Maybe. Lol. 🤷🏽♂️ Love the video bro.
I don't think so, man. But it's possible. 🤷🏻♂️
That's a nice subvert
Thanks, man.
The CF/20cv subvert is $420, which I think is a great price.
That's not too bad. Still a bit more than I'd like for this design, but what can ya do?
I need a subvert
I have a subvert. I am not looking to keep a subvert for much longer.

The detent can be suspect, you're correct.
