The reason Gus walked out after the explosion and adjusted his tie is because those were the last of the neurons in his brain firing off. He is a business man, so the constant motion of fixing his tie was all that remained as he slowly died. I believe this was foreshadowed when Walt had dinner at Gus' house. So remember in the beginning of the episode, when he was spinning the gun? The first spin, it points to him: Kill himself or give himself over to Gus. The death of Walter White. The second spin, it points to him: Turn himself in to the DEA, and provide the evidence needed to take down Gus and his empire. The death of Heisenberg. The third spin, it points to the flower: The inspiration to turn Jesse against Gus, and to save his family. His only shot at survival. When it comes down to it, Walter didn't choose to poison Brock in a vacuum. He has lived for the past few weeks or months in complete existential terror of Gus for himself and for his family,, culminating in Gus dragging him out into the desert with the promise of "I will kill Hank. If you do anything to cross me, then I will kill your family." He tried to take his family and run, and he gave Hank what warning he could, but in the end he was trapped, and he had a mental break as a result. Poisoning a child should never be done, of course, but that is a rational stance. Walter was not rational, and he has not been rational for the entire season. He used a poison that kids commonly ingest, because when it came down to it, in his mind it was "My children die, or this child gets sick", and he needed someone in the know on his side to have any shot at success. Jesse was his only option. It should be noted that if you actually look up the flower and it's symptoms, it is stated that "symptoms can last for one to three days and that a hospital stay may be required, but that death is unlikely". The whole "ricin" scare dramatically amped the expectations of the truth of Brock's situation, in comparison to what Lily of the Valley berries actually do. I am not making this argument to say that Walter is the good guy, or that he should have poisoned Brock, I am merely pointing out where his head was at, and what he actually did, because many people overlook Walter's mindset in this episode, and to Walter's character as a whole. I loved your geek out reaction moment with your discovery revealing Walter poisoned Brock. There is no doubt Gus would have killed Hank, Skyler, Walt Jr., and Holly. However, Gus made two huge mistakes. 1) His pride - he had to be the one to kill Hector. 2) Gus pushed Walt into a corner. Push Walt into a corner and you then have to deal with Heisenberg.
@Cory Whitley Yeah. We all know Gus was too dumb to know exactly what his guys were doing. Sure. And even after Jesse told him what happened, Gus was too dumb to understand it and forced Jesse to make peace with them.
@Cory Whitley The brothers doing evil things for sure wasn't a problem for Gus. Gus just hated it when his business partners acted unnecessarily showy and caused danger for his secrets. and by the way he hated all Salamancas for other reasons.
@Cory Whitley Gus was offended by Walt intriguing against him because of Hank and nothing else. That's why Gus literally threatend the lifes of Walt's whole family. Gus was also smart enough to know what his guys would do after he said "No more kids." Gus was calculated and patient but he wasn't a better person than Walt.
Guys that wasn't a metal detector. I forget it's name, but what it does is detect electronic bugs (tiny electronic sound retrievers). Remember, that Gus knows Hector just went to the DEA offices. Gus figured Hector probably ratted him or somebody else out, which means the DEA may have planted bugs in his room.
Walt isn't great at just straight-up lying, but he's a great manipulator. He manipulated the story and everybody around him to get Jesse on his side to take out Gus.
You guys have such fantastic reactions to this. I can't wait for you to see the next season. Season 5 is best season of the show and I'm looking forward to seeing you flip your shit!
Congratulations! You are the first reactors to recognise and acknowledge that Walt (being a bona fide genius chemist)would have certainly known what would be a non-lethal dose to administer. Every other reactors think Walt wanted to kill Brock. Obviously, it's extremely wrong what he did and still carried some risk. But to think that the guy who can calculate how to create the purest crystal meth ever made, wouldn't know the correct dosage of a very basic toxin is daft. But Walt couldn't escape after their get away money was gifted away due to adulterer Skylar and her tax fraudster lover's shenanighans. And with Gus making it crystal clear Walt could never contact Jesse ever again, meant Walt needed to concoct some way to get his estranged partner in crime Jesse back on his side and to turn against Gus (who had manipulated and coerced Jesse to join him). How Walt managed to do that was pretty insidious no doubt, but at least in doing so, he managed to save his families lives and also freed Jesse from being trapped under Gus' control.
Oh please,he's a chemist, not a doctor. What if brock had an allergic reaction to the poison or any other medical condition that would escalate things? What if no one was there to rush him to the hospital? What if they couldn't get him medical care in time? How did walt account that those instances?
The biggest game of chess ever, Gus was cornering Walt the whole time( with some hiccups) And he made 1 mistake ONE. And Walt took him out Cut throat to the end
Gus was never going to kill Jesse. Gus was technically the "good guy" when he captured Jesse. Gus captured Jesse so Walt wouldnt get to him to kill him like they did Gale. The bodyguard in the lab had his gun out for Walt, not Jesse.
Something that baffles me about poisoning Brock. Where in all these 2 episodes did he have an opportunity to poison Brock where did he have an opportunity to get to him and come back without Gus’s men getting to him?
@@wandanemer2630 It wasn't Andrea's house. Vince Gilligan said that Walter juiced the flowers, beelined for Brock's elementary school, and managed to poison Brock's fruit juice, using his experience as a teacher to sneak into the school.
Chemist here: Walt knew what he was doing. He’s a brilliant chemist and a perfectionist. It’s not like he’s some amateur fool who’s just going to take the berries and dry them out and crush them up. He’s going to extract the naturally occurring component Chemical/s and purify the solution, thus making the most pure and predictable analogue of the toxin, and then administer just enough, based on body weight, in order to make Brock sick, NOT to kill him. It was clear to me that it was never meant to indicate that Walt had the intention to kill him. He hadn’t become a monster, yet. He was just desperate. Obviously he was taking a risk, considering The very small chance that Brock might have an E-antibody allergic reaction, but again, you have to consider his options at the time. (Don’t forget, they always had chemists on set as consultants, so it’s fair to assess the realism in this situation.) Gus and Mike had intentionally manipulated Jesse into trusting them, and were using him as a tool, as leverage against Walt. Walter is certainly guilty of manipulating Jesse as well, but over a much longer time frame, which originated with good intentions. It’s clear that, at least up to this point in the show, he maintains a paternal love for him. I certainly don’t intend to legitimize, nor act as a proponent of poisoning children, but I think that it’s best for the viewer not to jump to conclusions and immediately hate Walt after this episode, as it makes the show much more interesting and enjoyable if you are still rooting for him. Children were killed on Gus’s watch, and on purpose. He had to go, for that reason and many others. P.S.- The SONG that you guys said you liked, the one that was playing when Gus was taking his final walk into the nursing home, is aptly named “Goodbye.” It’s one of my favorite songs, by the band APPARAT. Great music and great lyrics. I suggest you check it out! 😀 Cheers! 🍻 -DCIPS GG-14, NASIC
Still he's a chemist not a doctor. And Brock was in the ICU in a critical condition, very close to dying. Walt didn't know if he was going to survive, you can see it in his face when Jesse tells him that he will. I don't think Walter was justified at all in his actions.
I loved your reaction to finding out it was Walter who poisoned Brock. He had to do it though in order to get Jesse to get back on his side by blaming Gus for it. If not for Jesse's help, he and his family would be dead so he had no choice.
The reason Gus walked away from the car after Jesse told him about Brock being poisoned was he knew HE didn't do it, so someone else did, so he was being brought into the open by someone else's plan. So he switched up his travel method to be safe.

We have all heard about how the chicken with its head cut off can run around. Gus, the chicken man, does the same thing - straightening his tie because even when he goes out, he will do it in style.
OH
MY
GOD.
Just had an image of a headless Gus running out of the room and falling over lol
Great reaction you guys! I remember after watching the finale thinking "How can this show possibly get any better??"... but it does! You guys are in for an amazing ride in season 5!
Gus to his driver "wait here...i'm not coming back" 😂😂😂
You guys are amazing, yes the ending is SHOCKING, now the best season of any tv show ever!
The fact that Walter tricked everyone... Including the audience. Such a mastermind.
The moment Walt completes his heel turn.
GO TO MINUTE 5:50 I watched Imon's reaction over and over....priceless!
Minute 6:24 Abi 's non movement, i thought my screen froze
you ladies are the best!
*3:03** I can't believe you missed out "revenge".*
That was his biggest motivator and his biggest downfall.
Ive been binge watching reactions to this episode and i love every single one, this is one of the smoothest reveals in tv history
my mom was so pissed off when she figured out what Walter did. It was amazing rewatching this show with my parents (who were seeing it for the first time)
lol....loved your reaction at the end!!! i was waiting for that
Great reactions haha. This episode is amazing. I'm excited to see your reactions for the final season!
Walter 'Heisenberg' White had lived up to the show's name, he definitely broke bad this episode.
4:23 the song that's playing just happens to be called 'goodbye'
Welcome to the next installment of “Walter is an actual psychopath”.
No, he absolutely wasn't psychopath
Ladies and gentlemen, meet the new Two Face.
hahahahaha...watching you guys go from all those dorky jokes pre-Gus to shell-shocked at the end, quite the juxtaposition wouldn't you say? 😜
The song is "Goodbye" by Apparat.
Really good one =)
Loved the final gesture by Gus.....straightening his tie. But buckle up ladies. Season 5 will make your socks roll up & down.
Heh. They didn't want to say "Tyrus", and then they said "Todd".
Heh heh.
Y’all got played........we all got played 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I loved your geek out reaction moment with your discovery revealing Walter poisoned Brock.
There is no doubt Gus would have killed Hank, Skyler, Walt Jr., and Holly. However, Gus made two huge mistakes. 1) His pride - he had to be the one to kill Hector. 2) Gus pushed Walt into a corner. Push Walt into a corner and you then have to deal with Heisenberg.
Being fair, Walt tried to kill him first.
@@wandanemer2630 no, Gus was first
When you realize you had the wrong guy pegged as the villain all along....
I mean, Walt being a villain doesn’t make Gus less of a villain
@Cory Whitley So Tomas was not innocent before he was forced to kill Combo?
When you think the shocker is Gus getting his face blown up, Walt says “hold my beer”.
This show is so good..it just walks through its own level of greatness.
Gus became a walker; the only B.B episode to crossover with Walking Dead.
3:42 That's the same song that plays in opening titles of "Dark". It's called goodbye.
He hated hector so much that he didn't even wanna die in the same room as him
Lol told you ladies that this season finale was a shocker.
Breaking Bad really is the absolute king of episode titles.
You girls now realize Walter's the actual bad guy, right? There it is!
You still didn't realise that most characters in this show are bad guys and Walt is just the smartest of them?
My reaction to that ending was very similar. I was like "oh shit, Walt is the real villain of this show"
Walt isn't great at just straight-up lying, but he's a great manipulator. He manipulated the story and everybody around him to get Jesse on his side to take out Gus.
And the audience, into believing he was still The Good Guy. I'm really impressed!
Walt you evil master manipulator. Got the job done. Jesse's theory about Walt was spot on.
It's even sadder to think about, knowing how Jesse would feel about believing Walt had done it.
You guys have such fantastic reactions to this. I can't wait for you to see the next season. Season 5 is best season of the show and I'm looking forward to seeing you flip your shit!
I thought Gus was an Android or something for a second.
Oh please,he's a chemist,not a doctor.
What if brock had an allergic reaction to the poison or any other medical condition that would escalate things? What if no one was there to rush him to the hospital? What if they couldn't get him medical care in time? How did walt account that those instances?
god you are jumping through HOOOOOPS to defend walt
The biggest game of chess ever,
Gus was cornering Walt the whole time( with some hiccups)
And he made 1 mistake
ONE.
And Walt took him out
Cut throat to the end
"BiIiIiIitch"
Gus was never going to kill Jesse. Gus was technically the "good guy" when he captured Jesse. Gus captured Jesse so Walt wouldnt get to him to kill him like they did Gale. The bodyguard in the lab had his gun out for Walt, not Jesse.
Oh my god, you are so right.
This still stands as the greatest series of all time.
Ehhhhh, Sopranos and the Wire.
Lmfao. I was just waiting until you realize it was Walter who poisoned Brock
The last twist is the mother of all twists 😂😂🙏
Best reaction to the final reveal ever 😂
that was an incredible reaction to the walt poison reveal hahahah
5:59 It was at this moment Gus knew... he fucked up.
Walt poisoned Brock so Jesse would think it was Gus so he would want to kill him.
Lmao end of season 4 and your still accidentally calling Skyler,Jesse 😂
Great reaction
0:32 Did someone say "Todd"?
*sweats* Oh God No...
Oh you sweet summer children. I can’t wait to see you watch next season.
Something that baffles me about poisoning Brock. Where in all these 2 episodes did he have an opportunity to poison Brock where did he have an opportunity to get to him and come back without Gus’s men getting to him?
I don't think Gus' men had an eye on Andrea's house. Only Jesse's, Walt's, the Lab and Pollos.
@@wandanemer2630 It wasn't Andrea's house.
Vince Gilligan said that Walter juiced the flowers, beelined for Brock's elementary school, and managed to poison Brock's fruit juice, using his experience as a teacher to sneak into the school.
Greatest end shot of television!
When Imon said 'Biiiittch' lool loved it
You guys are so much fun
... been waiting for this!
(Don’t forget, they always had chemists on set as consultants, so it’s fair to assess the realism in this situation.)
Gus and Mike had intentionally manipulated Jesse into trusting them, and were using him as a tool, as leverage against Walt.
Cheers! 🍻

100%
Still he's a chemist not a doctor. And Brock was in the ICU in a critical condition, very close to dying. Walt didn't know if he was going to survive, you can see it in his face when Jesse tells him that he will. I don't think Walter was justified at all in his actions.
I loved your reaction to finding out it was Walter who poisoned Brock. He had to do it though in order to get Jesse to get back on his side by blaming Gus for it. If not for Jesse's help, he and his family would be dead so he had no choice.
Gus wouldve never hurt Walts family, he couldnt even hurt Walt because of Jesse
“He has to go right?” Someone had to go, either Walt or Gus
5:14. 😂 I mean, he DID then tuco was killed 😂😂
Best reaction ever and I saw a lot, trust me. That's why this show calls Breaking Bad 😉
Just wait til you get to Ozymandias, the third from the very last episode in the series. It's considered the best episode of television ever written.
3:18 Anger/Wrath.
Sure as hell that one played a big part...
On both sides, Gus and "tio".
@@zvimur Right! And Walt, too.
The show you saw that the kid used the flower to poison someone was “the sinner” season one
Imon Snow so smart she figured it us ! 12:15 hahahahaa
I wonder if Walt knew that the plant would not kill Brock or not
He didn't know for sure but intend and hope. That's why he reacted relieved.
@@iliboxic7586 right. good point
@@iliboxic7586 he knew exactly that Brock would be fine
