For once, i agree with Turkish. This was the window to put the rest of the league on notice. This feeling is familiar.
Winning the window doesn't equal winning the League. It hasn't been an exciting window for a lot of reasons but the season isn't over and some of the comments suggesting that have been absolutely ridiculous...not saying you per se.
i believe we will live to regret this. Artetas final chance. Edu needs to go though, me must advance as a club.

As it stands without a forward, it’s a 3/10, our forward line is now wafer thin and I would go so far as to say zero chance of the title. If we hadn’t let viera and Nketiah go it would be a 4/10 as at least the squad was thicker. If we get a forward significant quality we can call it a 6 or 7/10 dependant on quality but we would still be slightly thin.
No striker…Merino out injured during training in a clash with Gabriel..couldn’t make this club up at times..farewell to the league after 2 games 😢😢

Last season fans were moaning about Arteta not playing the kids enough minutes. Well, he listened. This season the kids will have a chance. I knew from the off, that Arteta will not sign a striker. It was clear about Arteta's thought process. I did not want disappointment so I adjusted my expectations.

@@aarondones4565we were lucky in terms of injuries last season. That doesn't mean we will be lucky again this season. We already have a couple of injuries in GW3. We needed depth in our attack and ignoring it is exactly why we won't win anything again while teams like United will finish outside the top 4 but probably still win another trophy

This is an absolute shambles of a transfer window! We all know we need a prolific finisher. A striker, or any other goal scoring forward, is a must.
I don't know what Robbie is smoking, but our transfer window is a 4/10 at best. We will be playing 2 games a week, we have let a few players go, and really only brought in 2 players (Raya was with us last season).
At this point I’ll take Sterling, on loan and at 1/2 wages but it comes from a position of desperation. Turkish is spot on here.
I agree with Turkish, the window opened in June and now at the end of August and we have not addressed the forward line, we knew this in January and it is still not sorted and who is our 3rd choice goalie, this happens every number of years and i have followed Arsenal for over 50 years
I give the window a 5. If they buy Gyokeres i'd give it an 8. I really like the Mareno and Califiori buy but I also wanted 2 forwards, Gyokeres and Williams. Pay the clause and get Gyokeres.
How the hell did we not end up with either a Tony, a Chiesa, a Nevas, a Kudus, a Mitoma,…. On and on and on…
I hope we make into top 4 this season.

The transfers out from arsenal is based on time played on the pitch last season..Fine but that was based on the luck of not having injuries .. If we are lucky again the window is ok.. But what are the odds on that
With where we are, I support not buying expensive players that are not our top targets. If they can get a loan deal for a forward, ok. If not, there’s enough versatility in the squad to cover the positions until January, unless we are extremely unlucky with injuries

As an outsider looking in, Arsenal have depth in defnece so not sure why another defender had to come in this window.....A creative midfielder and competent finisher up front would have been where my money went! Injury to Odegaard and Saka will mean a very blunt attack.

I’m actually surprised, I thought Arsenal would want to capitalize on the enthusiasm of their fans. If they bought an expensive player and charged more for tickets this season, there fans would gladly pay, but they’ve missed it. I’m sure that they have a plan. Maybe for January?

Arteta was given 200mil last season to spend, he spent 65mil on havertz mainly to replace xhaka. He found out that wasn’t working and shifted him to the attack. Havertz is the reason we can’t spend proper money now on a forward,we know we are light in midfield and still haven’t replaced xhaka. Maybe this summer might be the time we go big on a forward. Now if you ask me, that is 35% on Arteta and 65 on the board, because regardless of how Arteta spent the budget, as long as the board are ambitious, they are expected to shoot out the funds regardless.
6 out of 10 is very generous tbh, Calafiori looks like a decent player, Merino good squad player but if we finish with Ramsdale out & Neto on loan... 4/10 for me & could be a massive slip up like when Auba left & we had the chance to sign Isaak... Remember even Wengers latter years? He made stupid bids on Suarez & Vardy, he tested the waters at least..Bought Sanchez then Ozil on deadline day ffs... Toney/ Osimhen were clearly available for less than their price tag under a year ago today when we are crying out for a striker, Arteta said earlier he'd meet with Edu & see if anything comes up! Gyokores out there in Portugal scoring for fun, Williams Jr has a release clause, all those players we have been linked with yet we don't think any of them are worth the price of helping us take advantage & try to win the league? I don't see us winning no league especially with the increased matches... Havertz is going to have to be on absolute fire this season now...
I'm starting to think Arteta / Edu or both of them do not have pulling power to get forwards outside the premier League in Europe that are wanted by big clubs, Vlahovic, Sesko and now Nico Williams have all turned us down to stay at their current clubs or sign for someone else. Only forwards brought in Kai Havertz, Jesus and Trossard
Do we know what the financials are saying? Arsenal had been on the brink of FFP. I don’t think the club will just sit down and look without wanting to strengthen the squad. The sustainability of the game has come to the fore now but I do agree, we could have been more tactical with prioritizing the signings
Let go of players who played a combined amount of like 72 games last season and replaced with Calafiori to the best defense in the league, a midfielder who’ll be out for months and a second keeper on loan who’s cup tied. 0/10 window.
No trophy this year would in my book have to mean Arteta, Edu and Kroenke’s out (of course all will stay). Our owners are only happy being back in the Champions League, it’s clear they lack ambition. Saliba will be gone next summer, lets see if Saka/Ødegaard sticks around or not.

Merino is also injured and could be replaced by Havert in midfield. There is also no striker to rely on. The midfield players are also less than optimal. It's better to bring in a striker first.... Gyokeres is one of the ones who can be brought in now...
