Tbh we are just undeniably spoilt by the Big-3 era, it’s remarkable how they all dealt with injuries & sicknesses and still managed to keep themselves in incredible shape for such long periods of time, producing desired results week in & week out with such unrivalled consistency at the very top of the sport

i used to hit /train for ten hours a day, partly because people just kept asking for me.
i was young and very fit and could /can rip the ball. but without adequate rest my body began to suffer - torn intercostal muscle, tears in my trapezius. a lot of old men with devices love to hate on the players but injuries are, for most part, an effect of overplaying and not having recovery /rest time.

some of this makes no sense. Players do have some control of their schedule and often chase $$$ on small events and exos when they could be off to recover.

Disagree with Andy. Even he was in situations in his career that if he had additional day between matches, he would've performed better next round. Madrid masters 2005 semifinals, federer in Miami 2008, etc
