- August is such a great garden month. The borders glow and there are many great plants in flower. For example hydrangeas, lilies, Angelica’s and other late summer flowering perennials.
Here I’m showing you my border behind the greenhouse where I’m using red colors this time of the year.
I'm talking about:
Angelica sylvestris 'Vicar's Mead'
Rose ‘Rhapsody in Blue’
Hydrangea paniculata ‘Wim's Red’
Hydrangea arborescens ‘Ruby Annabelle’
Sanguisorba officinalis
Alcea rosea 'Blacknight'
My name is Claus Dalby, and I live in Risskov on the outskirts of Aarhus in Denmark. To date, I have written about 30 books on flowers and gardens in Danish, and my garden has been featured on many TV shows. In March 2022 my first book in English will be available. I consider my home (built in1908), and its garden with its neighboring wood, as my sanctuary. When I started gardening in 1996, there was just a large lawn covering approximately 1 acre (4,000 square meters), but today the grass is long gone - replaced by 15 hedged rooms with varying colors and moods. Additionally, one of my great passions is growing in pots, arranged to create spectacular container gardens, which I will share quite a bit about on this channel. Decor and creating moods have always interested me - both outside and inside - and I love to use the flowers from my garden for bouquets and to inspire other crafts that create a sense of hygge.

Such pleasant flowers! The Angelica gigas have attracted all the busy bees to come and feast! My they are having a great time. The big red lilies are so beautiful, in fact all lilies are just gorgeous! Unfortunately they do not last too long, their trumpet petals seems to bruise easily but what a show of colour. The bulb must be quite big to produce such a display of colour and growth! What a dear friend to share his exotic botanicals with you Mr Dalby, such a kind gesture from one gardener to another. Dear Claus,as I said before we are living far away but same plants are the same, we have Angelica living in the fields near the house,I use in my garden Daucus Carota wich is so wonderful from the beginning to the end....thank you so much Claus to sharing your paradise,I know how much work it is but when the flowers opened all the tiredness is flowing away 🥰💜💚🌺🌱🌸🌿😘

My Rhapsody in blue is not on its 2nd flowering yet but I love the colour. I will think about growing angelic Sylvester. I had the plant many years ago but it did not survive I think it was too dry.
