I want to go ahead and say this video is heavily simplified to fit an easy to understand youtube format. There are a lot of things left out, including Kuruk's feud with the spirit Father Glowworm. I encourgage you all to read the Kyoshi Novels, as well as Avatar Generations, and maybe even Escape from the spirit world.

Good video. Avatar Kuruk has always been my favorite Avatar. Also, I'll take that cookie now, haha.
It would have been better if during the siege of the north episodes (book 1 finale) AVATAR KURUK helped aang beat the fire nation instead of a random spirit from the ocean.
Kuruk should taken over the body of aang & shown his skills.
Glad the netflix version gave more depth on his life. It must really hurt to be under constant battle and while no one else even notice your struggle
I’m glad that I was one of the few people who knew about kuruk’s duty, dedicating his life to cleaning up yangchen’s mess. Rip Kuruk, respect.
This explains how Avatar Kiyoshi and Avatar Kuruk had the same Earthbending master.
There should be a mini series or film on Avatar Kuruk.
Before I watch this I need to say I know alot about kuruk like how he allowed spirit to grow till he realised that skirts were reeking havak so than he fort them back to the spirit world than losing the love of his life to a face stealer
Koh, is so despicable for what he did.
The strongest most evil spirit that kuruk had fought whose name will not be said is implies to be koh’s father, which makes his actions make more sense
He was a good avatar no one knows that for he just only focused on the spirit world
On the contrary Netflix has clearly NOT forgotten avatar Kuruk. Other than that very informative video, thanks for it.
I enjoyed seeing Kuruk expanded more in the live action. Although some of his personality quirks were quite strange

correction we USED to know about him..
because first we knew a fair amount...enough to consider him an iniffective avater..then there was a major retcon that conpletely contraticted most of what was said in last airbender concerning him....
this in many ways is a good thing as it gave more depth to his character...however it caused a bit of ...lets say, lack of hindsight in the fandom of how former opinions of him were treated.
i still catch crap about my old opinion of him in comments made years ago from fans saying i ignored all his battling with dark spirits...for fuck sake this was BEFORE any of this was revealed...how was i supposed to know the creators were going to completely change the main aspect we knew about him at the time.
that being said this falls into an interesting theory of mine about how rava carries over the faults and struggles of one avater to the point where the next avatar would overcompensate.

Why were yangchen and kuruk not able to change the evil spirits? Also i haven't read the yangchen novel. Its very suprising that as an airbender she wasnt helping spirits as much
Yangchen focused more on the physical world because her predecessor Szeto just focused on the Fire Nation. Therefore Kurruk became "soft" on the physical world. Therefore Kyoshi was "hard" on the physical world. Every Avatar trys to fix the prior mistakes on their predecessor.
