Toji knew he couldn't stop fighting until his Vessel (the "Grandson") broke. Since technically only his "Body" was brought back, the Man himself has very little control over this purely instinctual Behavior now. The Grandson wasn't that much of a Sorcerer - I mean his very Soul lost to Toji's OP Body and that was apparently unheard of so far xD I think it's safe to assume that the Grandson Vessel wouldn't be able hold Toji the GOAT very long, I reckon that Zombie State was gonna last 48 Hours max before Toji's fighting Style and Speed tears the Vessel apart eventually. He kills himself because he recognized his Son and didn't want to kill him - which he definetly would've :D There's 0 Chance Megumi could've survived this another 2 Minutes. Apart from Gojo and Sukuna, there is really nobody to deal with with Toji tbh
The old woman's ability was supposed to be cancelled when she died, but Toji's body was so special that the old woman's ability was not cancelled, and Toji lost her ego and continued to fight until her body stopped functioning, in a runaway state. Also, since the ability consumes the Curse Energy of the body, the ability will be cancelled when the Curse Energy runs out. However, since Toji has completely zero Curse Energy to begin with, his body does not even have the concept of “consuming Curse Energy,” and he will continue to fight semi-permanently as long as his body is not destroyed. When Toji realized that Megumi could be his son and momentarily regained his ego, he killed himself because he thought he would kill his son with his own hands if he did not. And it was also for the sake of his son Megumi that he never claimed to be his father. Toji is an asshole and not a good father, but he has always cared about Megumi and understood that he could never be a “good father or a good person,” so he just tried to stay away from his son and forget about him. TojI forgot Megumi's name in ep2 of S2, but it wasn't really a forgetting, it was more of a continual trying to forget and telling himself that he was forgetting.
tojis body remained because the old womans technique only ends once the body runs out of cursed energy (and toji has/uses no cursed energy due to his heavenly restriction)
