What you might lack in experience, you more than make up for in determination and common sense! 💪 FWIW, I use a power tool on just about anything that their size will fit in to, but I leave the final tightening to do by hand..power tools, especially cordless, are my best friend in and out of the shop..Also FWIW, filtering fuel up here in our swampy area is kind of a big deal, especially when pouring out of a container filled at a fuel station..I use one that filters "stuff" but also shuts off when any water tries to pass through..lastly FWIW, if you're gonna loan your stuff out, only loan your stuff to folks to have the integrity and means to return it in the same or better shape than they borrowed it in..😉 On! On!

About your ATV it's really interesting that you're finally learning that when you loan something to somebody they really don't care about it like if they bought it themselves and that means that you get to fix it yourself

    Just a couple of tips.
Most Phillips head screws on Japanese dirt bikes or 4 wheelers are actually JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) and the heads can be easily stripped by using an American Phillips screw driver. Sometimes you can get by but it would be best to invest in a set of JIS screw drivers.
It would also be a good idea to have a hammer driven impact driver with a selection of hex bits to remove those pesky bolts and screws.
Any gas poured out of a container should be filtered with a fine cloth in the mouth of a funnel. This will prevent most contaminants from getting into the gas tank.
    Keep up the good work.

Just caught up with this post so my comment may have already been resolved... With carbs there are normally two adjusting screws, one for mixture and one for slow running, tickover. The cable adjuster is just that, nothing to do with engine speed or running. When you identify those two screws set the tickover slightly fast and then trim the mixture to get the fastest speed you can. Reduce the tickover to minimum and try the mixture again. You should be able to reach a good steady tickover without the engine hesitating. As mechanics go you're doing pretty good. Brian from the UK.

Good job, next time start with a smaller bit then work up to the bigger one, a little oil once in while if you have it & don't shove on it too hard especially with the hand drill ,even moderate pressure let the bit work.

Could possibly be some water in the gas from condensation. That can also cause carburetor problems. 😊 8:00

Good job on that carb. I hope you changed those filters to. On another video, I noticed you left knobs when you where cutting off they branches. Just lay your saw flat on the trunk and cut it off smooth with the trunk. I also noticed that the other logs were cut smooth. So if you plan on doing it later. Just for give my over sight. I just started watching your blogs. So I hope to see you build that cabin. Most people build their cabin on piles. There is a lot to be said about a poring a slab. Plus it solves a lot of problems you won’t have otherwise. Later

    Check your air filter.
You're setting it in your carburetor could be from the dirty air filter

The idle is not on the cable. It is on the carb. Cable is for throttle free play. I work on them for a living. If u have a problem ask away. Don’t mind helping.
