Learning comes from experiencing and overcoming difficulty. When you approach the world from the opposite direction from which it was designed, your problem solving skills are sharpened.
Thanks for this. I'm left-handed. When I was in my first grade, my father forced me to learn to write with my right hand. I believe it stunted my development in those formative years, my hand writing was crap, I thought I was dumb, and it all generally added to insecurities lasting up until high school until I discovered engineering lettering. Even today, I still write with my right hand but do everything else with my left hand, which seems odd. I think there is a great deal of prejudice against left-handed people. My own father preferred his right handed daughter over me until he died, it didn't matter that I finished both my bachelor and masters in time, while it took her double time to complete her bachelorette degree, she never even went for Masters degree.. I was always made to feel like an odd one out. I'm now in my fifties so I don't really give rat's ass anymore. But I hope parents reading this will take heed and not make the same mistake with their children. Sometimes I wonder what my life could have turned out to be (I've had many passions that were all dismissed) had I been right-handed or if at least wasn't made feel less than because of my left-handedness... Edit: To add, recently I finally bought couple of guitars, I always wanted to learn to play. At the shop you could see derisive smile on the salesman face as he uttered "leftie eh" and then tried to give me a monologue about some famous guitarists who were lefties and still learned to play with their right hand. I stopped him and said I didn't care. I took my two "leftie" guitars, paid them, and walked out of the shop with pride, all to his bewilderment.

This was over 30 years ago, but when I took placement exams for college, the counselor told me I was a good guesser, as when the math questions got harder, I performed better. And I said to him, I worked every one of those math questions out. And he gave me a wry look and said, yeah no, you're a good guesser. I guess me doing the same on the English exam which allowed me to skip a couple of years was OK though. I am still bitter about it.
I'm also an INTP in addition to a lefty. While I'm a good test taker with a good IQ, I have gotten passing grades on tests I knew nothing about by analyzing the methodology of the test maker. Reading between the lines is a great life skill.
Both of my parents are right handed and I’m left handed. I play instruments such as: Piano, Drums, Guitar, and Vocals. Also I write very good, it all comes easy to me.
I’m ambidextrous, when it comes to creativity in music I can just follow my gut and I make things work, like I already know what note to sing and play, I play about 14 different instruments so maybe that’s why
I'm not sure why spiral notepads matter. For a lefty, it hits the hand on the top but when flipped over, they hand is unencumbered, same for a rightly only opposite.
Unless you hold it weird the spiral is always digging into your hand or arm. And you always smear your pen/pencil marks unless you hold your hand/arm up the whole time.
i m left handed, i use to be among the top students in school, i can multitask and i m a doctor by profession.. Everyone in my family is right handed and they were average in school, both my parents were average in school too..so its true, we re smarter
I love it on the rare occasion when a right-handed person sees something is not correct for me, like a ladle. I just tell them this kind of thing happens a dozen times a day and I’m used to it. They have no idea what it’s like.
1:28 I was amazed when he made note of spacial awareness being more of a right hemisphere thing because even though i am right handed, i use my left hand for spacial awareness tasks. Some examples being; opening containers and screw tops, seperating and differentiating between small or thin objects from one another, finding something in a bag but can't see it, scratching my back, and archery. I am also ambidextrous at bowling (partially due to my wrists being weak).
I hold my pen between my index and middle fingers, and it got me into so much trouble with my elementary teachers, but my mom told them to leave me alone. For whatever reason a lot of lefties hold their pen in weird ways, like one guy in class who held it between his ring and pinky fingers. I've seen a lot of creative ways far from the 'proper' way. Somehow we survive. lol
I'm a leftie and I normally hold my pen when my index crosses at the side of it of it, my middle finger on top of it and then the pen is resting on my ring finger, but if I write for a long time I get a dent on my ring finger because of the pen ;-; and when that happens it turns a bit red. But I can write in different and weird ways, like one time I was messing about with glue (glue from a glue stick) in school and I had some of the glue on my index and thumb but I kept my thumb and index stuck together as they had glue on it and I could still write!
As a kid, I saw lefties hold their pens in awkward ways so I taught myself to hold my pen like the righties do, lol. Maybe that's the reason why I have bad handwriting unless I concentrate on writing slowly but surely.
I'm left handed.... I got a bachelor's degree in psychology....... When I was like seven they called me mr. Wizard.... I had like three chemistry sets before I turned 10.... Elementary every student wanted to hear the stories I would write in class.......In college my English comp 3 teacher uses one of my stories as an example in class....... Everywhere I go people turn and look at me......... I always wondered I never knew why.......it's feels easy for me to come up with new ideas
Your story is cool and I bet you like to write? I almost went into psychology and I really like the field. Throughout my life friends come to me to talk about things because I listen well and give them good advice. Just last week I was talking to an old friend of mine that I have known for 40 years and he told me that I would have made a good psychologist although I take it lightly, but it's cool to hear. However I got a degree in engineering with statistics background. I got the engineering from my dad, my writing from my mom. And for me, I also can come up with good ideas in engineering and have been given a lot of leeway to manage my own projects at my job, which is with the Army, great job.
we are visual learners but we see teachers and peers doing things with right hands so we end up not learning. if we had left handed teachers and classmates we would have excelled in all subjects.
I was told by NUMEROUS, elementary school teachers, that I’d NEVER succeed! I was severely dyslexic and it was undiagnosed, how is beyond me! In the 7th grade EVERYTHING fell into place! Years and years of tutoring had left me will very helpful skills and that was all I needed, the tools to succeed! I got my first report card, it was all A’s. I was STUNNED! I waited for my semester report card, then my dad loaded me up and drove me back to elementary school! I told the teacher I’d learned; I didn’t lack the the ABILITY to succeed, I just lacked good teachers, who were willing to TEACH! I left it on her desk and I went home!
I'm a left handed too. Im not academically good mostly in mathematics but all I can say facts about right hemisphere of left handed are true even I'm not so excellent of it. Im creative love music and drawing. 😊 But now I'm exploring my other talents that I can do. Multitasking😊
Yea, Im left handed. I do well in math, I love drawing however I cant add color into anything...it turns out trash 😅I luv playing instruments and writing songs/ pieces.
I am a left-handed person. I spent my childhood in mainland China in 80s and 90s where left-hand writing people were recognized as freaks or illness by the whole society. They must be 'corrected' to right hand writing. So sad😞 After relcating to NZ, I've been compensated to use left hand to shift my sports car on track day😆 Thx God.
I have a high visualization brain When I read a book, and the characters arrive in a forest, I draw the trees in my head with different sizes, shapes, alignments, etc. I always draw all the details of a situation in my head. Lately, I've been wondering if it's because I'm left-handed and my right hemisphere is more developed.
There's no 100% guarantee you'll be good at math even if you're left handed, righties can also be extremely good at maths or creativity. It's not about you're a lefty or a righty, it's your personalities that defines you
I'm a lefty and this is accurate for me. I am good at remember numbers. I can look at a credit card for about a 30 seconds and remember the number of it
I've met phenomenally brilliant people- albeit for brief spans of time, sadly. Needless to say, there are two common denominators I have noticed among the cohort (if there ever were one): •They are reluctant to resort to certainties: IOW inductive logic with recursive iteration compromises most of their thinking. •They do NOT think, feel, or otherwise have any notion that they are intelligent, nor do they really fuss about that particular characteristic when thinking about others. NONE of them (n>10) consider IQ as a worthy measure for anything aside from the clinical evaluation of intellectual disability, and can even convincingly make the claim that the 'evidence' otherwise is stat-smudged, self-serving pseudoscience. Edit: typo
@@lovecupcakex642 Since you're "really smart" can you tell me what stat distribution would work better in oncology studies? The current methodology is underwhelming but anyone high in crystallized and fluid cognition never fails to answer this one with impressive insight. Curious as per your take, as it is pretty obvious to a really smart person.
@TheChosenOne21 Doesn't matter if they studied that; someone that is several standard devs per intelligence will possess multiple types of intelligence and will have intuitively taught themselves the _what_ of what math does even if they're not good at arithmetic and so on. My point is that people who call themselves "really smart" are usually full of ****. Kinda like when a guy has to say out loud that he's a good guy- tell me, does _anything_ good ever come of that? If you don't believe me look at Marilyn Vos Savant- she was - and possibly still is - capable of tackling problems from disciplines she had no familiarity with and could come up with a solution very few others could, the most notable of which was the "Monty Hall Problem." Edit: she was more correct when asked about a game's choice risk probability than professors of maths, statistics, and even academic logicians. One more thing: I am not right-handed, nor am I smart. 😉
Time spiral explain by the physics left hand spiral counter clock wise lift up the center of body gravitational center while right hand lower center of gravity but to switch is hard so voice to text of other language of middle east may help but most of us are base on
My whole childhood people in school and at home discriminated me due to the hand I use to write and eat as I'm a lefty and in my culture its bad to eat using your left hand as it invites the devil and so it got to a point where my dad wanted to tape my left hand to my body to stop me using it and adjust to the right hand like all my classmates and family members. It got to the point where I felt left out and when the teacher asked at class who are lefties I would get a shamed to raise my hand as I'm the only one who is a lefty. However, I love solving problems as I always think of many ways to solve it and so I'm really good in maths and art. I'm very creative and have alot of innovative ideas maybe too much that I could never end a project as I always have a new idea and I'm very indecisive as I think too much to the point at 8th grade they called me "MOODBOARD" as they always come up with childish names when I was young it basically meant that I have alot of ideas that i could be a board? I know I never really understood exactly what that meant. Anyways, Currently I have less than a year left for college and I have always thought to study architecture. I always loved math and arts and physics and have always dreamt on creating a landscape one day that could leave a mark of me before I die. Something that people travel to visit and see and take photos and create memories like eiffel tower or burj khalifa. I also want to study civil engineer so not only do I want to be involved with the design but also how to actually make it happen so the physics and math side of it. The college I'm looking at is mentioned in this video which is university of college London (UCL) its my dream to go their and I hope I could. However, I really want a gap year before so but my parents won't allow it as they are already mad that I want to continue year 13 and my British private school as it is quite expensive but UCL won't accept me unless I continue year 13 as I'm current under age to many colleges around the world. Most go to college at the age of 18 or 19 from what I have heard but I'm only 16. If I don't continue year 13 then to go to any college in Britain as it is the only place my parents will allow me to study I have to do a bridging/foundation year in the college I want to but it would be more expensive if you include the living expenses in London and also I wont be able to get a scholarship from the government as I'm too young so instead its better to continue my studies at school till year 13 then go to my dream college.
We are not evil I’m also a lefty and I’m really smart I love solving problems and I am amazing in baseball we have many advantages especially if we try. There is a lot of miths about being left handed but you are born the way we are born. I love god and I hope he loves me too
Am left handed and am suffering from the doors,ATM , but the driving steering it’s the only good one.scissors, elevators many thing I see are for right handed.
I was an A student in high school in nearly everything BUT math which I barely passed. I even had As in physics and chemistry! ( I'm from Finland and we had separate subjects like physics, chemistry, geography and biology, they were not all lumped in as 'science' ) Being smart does not equal being great at math. Apart from the arts, my talent has always been languages in particular, having learned seven of them during my life and being fluent in four of them. Let's just forget math LOL
You sound like one of those individuals with a math block. You must not have had a math teacher who knew it that well themselves. A good math teacher can make it really easy to learn.
See I'm like in the middle I write swing and catch with my left but I throw with my right I'm a left handed fighter I only throw with my right And I can't draw that well
Funny thing: computers are typically arraigned left-handed. The mouse is on the right-side, so us Lefthanders can fiddle with the mouse *and* handle a pen.
I learned to golf playing right-handed and my shots were straighter, down the fairway, but the distance was not very good. Now I play left-handed and my shots travel much further, but I also tend to slice the shot.
I do not compete with people who are left handed I am right handed. I can now paint and write with both hands. I am not suprised that Jesus was left handed. I have a very strong intution and I am right handed. They mean that left handed has a strong intuition. Interesting that left handed people compete so much with me. I do not compare just because they are jelaous. Some lefthanded use social media I do not I am smarter there.
I was lefthander but society not like it and they tell me that if i must use right hand I cant even do this even i do training to use right hand I almost depressed but i dicide to punch if someone ask me: omg are you lefthander? Or can you use right hand?
I don't care whether I'm smart or not, I just want to train the muscles in my non-dominant hand, I just want both my hands to be the same as strong, same as functional, same as capable.
Because you think you're dumb, what you believe IS and right handed people put you down making you think less of yourself be proud of your left hand and know what you are not what you think know you're smart.
because there are specific structures that are more about iq than jusr hemisphere...people even don’t know much about intelligence so maybe u just didn’t find your thing in wich u are the best
There are two types of lefties; the natural athlete and the natural genius-the two are rarely found in one person, or we could have a possible superhuman
I was a leftie, but my step mom forced me to change from left to right hand to write words. Is it harmful for my brain? I did write words by my left hand before, now I can’t revert back to left hand to write.
it's not about being left or right, the scientific explanation is in the video, being left handed will make u better in some stuff while being right handed will make u better in other stuff, but being good at something doesn't necessarily mean that ur smart, cuz IQ is tested by many factors, like logic, creativity..., that's why math is the best for IQ testing, creativity from being left handed combined with good logic when using ur right hand will make achieve better results, how ever these stuff only effect they don't have the entire control, u can 't make someone smart just by making him use his both hands, Einstein was proven to be right handed nd only use his right hand, hands have a slight effect on ur IQ but there's other things that holds a tremendous effect like brain development since ur a baby nd the environment...
wait what so 90% world population is right-handed??? ok that explaining why everytime people seeing me i was left-handed they always talk like this "oh you left-handed" "wow you left-handed" then they will ask same question "so when you eat your spoon will be on the left and the fork in the right?" lol im started getting bored when they saying same things everytime
My Childhood trauma it's that nobody could teach to write. Neither teachers of My parents found a proponer way to. It gave me a lot of frustrations on my early school years and created my greatest shame, i cannot handwrite. (I barely do a capital handwriting)
I'm left handed but I don't think we're all that different from right-handed people. I myself was top of my class at high school overall, but I wasn't even in the top 100 at University/College.
Easy. We are smarter because we have to adapt to a world where everything is right handed because of majority population. Right handed desks. No further words.
They are smarter because they get to visually see lots of right handed people performing right handed tasks every where while we are left in the background confused and feeling disabled at times having to try it for the first time without much examples around us. unless you had a parent who was also left handed it is most likely that you wont succeed in school or will get average marks. they should put all left handed students in 1 class and see how fast everyone learns off of each other!
@john Left handed does not signify smarter. It does mean that your brain reacts faster and using the right hemisphere of your brain means you have natural talents and abilities, you just have to find them. "Education begins after one has forgotten everything they were taught in school" -Einstein
Right handed people are unaware of how much of the world is catered to right handed people. As a left handed person, we have to learn everything on our own.
Hakuna Matata try visual learning and brainstorming your ideas on paper, audio learning. When I tried this I went from D’s to B/A’s (university grades). I sucked in high school because I didn’t know I was dyslexic. Once I found out, I got support from my advisor on different ways to learn. I dropped out of a social care degree and now study a stem degree. Not saying you’re dyslexic but I know a lot of lefties that are.
I was belted in near every lesson at school for using my left hand. Every teacher would force me to use my right hand, to the point of making me sit on my left hand. One teacher tied my left hand to the chair, really hated them, and had no idea why they were like that.
I had a friend in the 80's when I worked at McDonald's who had a teacher tie her hand and the teacher was fired. As a lefty myself, I was horrified by this. Being a lefty is a gift in my opinion, and I have always felt that way.

He was jealous. Simple . I’m also a leftie. 😅
I'm also an INTP in addition to a lefty. While I'm a good test taker with a good IQ, I have gotten passing grades on tests I knew nothing about by analyzing the methodology of the test maker. Reading between the lines is a great life skill.
@@chaoisaladder👍. Noone ever tried to 'change' me. I thought that went out with the dark ages! No sin being a lefty!

Both of my parents are right handed and I’m left handed. I play instruments such as: Piano, Drums, Guitar, and Vocals. Also I write very good, it all comes easy to me.
I played a trombone but it was to heavy to carry so I just stopped and started playing piano
Im a drummer too! Playing on right handed kit setups and I know a little bit on guitar and play piano ;)

And that is why we are creative.
I always turn my writing surface clockwise to make it easier.
When it's flipped over the spiral is still there and it actually becomes harder because the spiral comes further above
Unless you hold it weird the spiral is always digging into your hand or arm. And you always smear your pen/pencil marks unless you hold your hand/arm up the whole time.

Me as well
If you were actually smart, you'd know that's not enough sample data.
Left handed and Blessed ✨to be
I hold my pen between my index and middle fingers, and it got me into so much trouble with my elementary teachers, but my mom told them to leave me alone.
Same, in between index and middle, supported by the thumb as a fine guide for accuracy
As a kid, I saw lefties hold their pens in awkward ways so I taught myself to hold my pen like the righties do, lol. Maybe that's the reason why I have bad handwriting unless I concentrate on writing slowly but surely.

You are making a video as to why left-handed people are smarter, and the first graphic we see id of a right hand writing something on a whiteboard?
I love my left hand left means, Love, Wisdom, and Belief. That's why the world pointed everyone in the "right" direction.
I'm a left handed. Dumb in mathematics but very interested in music and languages.
Which means you have high intelligence in music and linguistics
You weren't properly introduced to mathematics. Most people aren't.
Then why is the hand in the video RH?
I always wondered why I was smarter than my older cousin who was a righty, but the majority of my family was left handed, so we were all smart.
Everyone thinks they are smart
I've met phenomenally brilliant people- albeit for brief spans of time, sadly. Needless to say, there are two common denominators I have noticed among the cohort (if there ever were one):
•They are reluctant to resort to certainties: IOW inductive logic with recursive iteration compromises most of their thinking.
Edit: typo
My mom was lefty and is really smart, has all types of degrees and my dad was a right but also smart, so I'm a lefty and really smart!
If you don't believe me look at Marilyn Vos Savant- she was - and possibly still is - capable of tackling problems from disciplines she had no familiarity with and could come up with a solution very few others could, the most notable of which was the "Monty Hall Problem."
Edit: she was more correct when asked about a game's choice risk probability than professors of maths, statistics, and even academic logicians.

They separate out the various subjects here too, but only after the 10th grade in high school.
Same lol
You sound like one of those individuals with a math block. You must not have had a math teacher who knew it that well themselves. A good math teacher can make it really easy to learn.

it's not about being left or right, the scientific explanation is in the video, being left handed will make u better in some stuff while being right handed will make u better in other stuff, but being good at something doesn't necessarily mean that ur smart, cuz IQ is tested by many factors, like logic, creativity..., that's why math is the best for IQ testing, creativity from being left handed combined with good logic when using ur right hand will make achieve better results, how ever these stuff only effect they don't have the entire control, u can 't make someone smart just by making him use his both hands, Einstein was proven to be right handed nd only use his right hand, hands have a slight effect on ur IQ but there's other things that holds a tremendous effect like brain development since ur a baby nd the environment...

Easy. We are smarter because we have to adapt to a world where everything is right handed because of majority population.
Right handed desks. No further words.
To hell with that fact. Every other person in my class is right handed and they are smarter than me.
Yes, if you keep your books under the pillow.

Left handed does not signify smarter. It does mean that your brain reacts faster and using the right hemisphere of your brain means you have natural talents and abilities, you just have to find them.
