This track/piece changed my life. I first heard it in 2005 when I was working at a hostel bar, and it played on loop for weeks after, to the discontent of many a patron. I didn't care.
It's been my go-to music for getting through hard times, and also as a celebration of all God represents.
    Thank you, Moby. ❤

I've been home since August fighting cancer (I'm now healed!) I found your music and fell in love with this song especially. Like you, I listened and cried with emotion. I felt the beginning, His thoughts, the majesty and power of the sea in the violins. It moved me deeply.
In the 90s I wrote a paper in college comparing Genesis and Evolution. It was eye opening and fascinated me. I've never heard anyone else mention this until today. Amazing.
Thank you for your music 😊

I have listened to this very song since its initial release close to over a thousand times and as crazy as this seems I have also envisioned the earth in its very moment of physical creation by the hand of the all mighty.. I've looked up that very same verse in the book of Genesis and i've read it over and over and to this day there's nothing more powerful and moving to me than this very scripture and this beautiful song. - thanks for reading.

I had an experience with this song. I didn't know Moby had remembered the ancient Jewish story about the Genesis of life.
I remember buying Everything is Wrong as CD, popping into my car expecting techno or rave, and driving when God Moving Over The Face of Waters came on. I had to stop and listen. Tears were streaming down my cheek. Everything I saw was brighter and deeper and more intimate than anything I'd ever experienced. I saw no old man or bright light in clouds; I heard no tyrant or scripture; I felt no pain. I felt the Divine prescence manifested through this song. Its spirit descended on everything around me. The spirit commanded my attention and raised me up, up above my small body in that litte car, up to its magnificient beauty, the glorious beauty of life all around me, all the people, the birds, the sky ... The tears wouldn't stop, and I cried out -- to let the Divine spirit pass over or overwhelm me; to take me or leave me, eitherway let it end. The song ended, and the echoes of the Divine spirit drifted away. I dried out my eyes and watery nose and could drive again. I'd learned to not play this song while driving 🥲. And despite bumps in the road that I had with a religious cult and then atheistic college, I still believe in the Divine spirit. Amazing that my experience sounds like how Moby imagined the spirit moving in Genesis, and it also brought him to tears. Moby manifested the Divine spirit by sharing this song with us. Music like this is a glorious experience! 🙏
Thank you Moby for this orchestral Reprise. 🙏

It is extremely rare that pieces like this come out of nowhere, they are so unbelievably good that one gets the impression that they are not from this world.
Everything about these songs is just right: the soul, the bass line, the mix, the arrangement, the vocals - everything. They take you into another world, let you forget everyday life for a moment, no matter how dark it may be.
These pieces have a spirit that makes that possible.
And I'm thankful to be able to find such rare gems here, because compared to these dreamlike tracks, what's in the charts is absolute rubbish....
Tracks like this are so much more than just music - they are a spirit, another level, an attitude to life, they have their own soul.
If you really fully engage with Tracks like this, it can take you into other realms and give you a different perspective on things.
Music like this will not disappoint you if you fully commit to it...
Thank you for this incredibly beautiful and fascinating track!!

Everytime I listen to this song I get taken back to the first time I watched Heat and this song started playing at the end of the movie and seeing Pacino holding De Niro hand before his soul has left him.

I heard this song playing on The Weather Channel's local on the 8's back in 2006. I never knew what the name of it was until years later when I looked through online forums. I'm so glad I can listen to this on repeat.

Great story. It will always remind me of the end sequence shot at LAX at the end of Michael Mann's movie, "Heat".

Mr Moby how this song brought me to a moment in my life in lake Tahoe as a teen in a cloudy day listening to that very song and watching the clouds part , and light peering through as fingers touching the surface of the lake and land... thank you❤
Also God is dog backwards and I think his barks were him approving lol

Moby man, you have done so much for the music of our generation that you could be compared to the greatest rockers of 60-70, translating into our times
