    Jordan, you have an off road bike now, no need for knobblies on the sportster. Get some really good street rubber for it instead.

    Hi Jordan, I think you should stick a set of Michelin road 5's on the bike, will totally transform the handling.

    Front my experience with front tires fathering on my KLR650 is that its just what dual sport tires do. The Kenda K270 I had on the front didn't feather bad but the Dunlop D606 did so maybe its the more agressive the tire the more it feathers.

    Nice meeting you at the campout. Maybe I can steer you towards some RV parks a little north of where you stayed if you consider doing it again next year. Look at St Johns, Putnam, and Flagler counties; a little further away from the Orlando area and its traffic.

    Block tread on the front of anything will 'cup' due to breaking ,forces, but not the rear. At least with a car or truck you can rotate to the rear at the first sign it . Most bikes have a larger rear so you're screwed . Not a good choice for 'road grip' anyway

    With the talents that you've acquired working on, and changing Gordita. You should do the sporty fix and flip thing. It'll keep you motivated, and like you said make a little money., not a bunch, but a little bit is a good thing. Jayman...

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts on changes made, adjustments for comfort and riding feedback from bike as ridden. I believe a change to more street style tires will benefit the bike and you. I don't comment a lot on videos however as a older and as friends have said to big for sportster rider, I have found my 05 1200 Custom inspired purchase with research watching fellow riders of Sportsters. I have found it to be a solid add to my options to ride as it actual handles well has plenty of power also fairly comfortable with Mustang solo seat change. 64.260.6'2" having a blast Again Thanks and keep sharing

    Get rid of those fork tube extensions. By adding them you raked out the front end geometry causing the tire to lay over rather than turn. A Cobra or Bassani 2 into 1 will sound awesome and look great. I would run the tires until they are toast since they aren't that old, but I have been known to be cheap. A set of Shinko's or Kenda K673 Kruz tires will give you a great ride without breaking the bank.

    Of course i've seen Jess's vid as well and happy you guys are home safe!
    I think selling the toy hauler might be the right move, based on what I heard in this and Jess her video.
    Also yeah the DRZ is your off road and on road for that matter as well, so your Sportster could just go back on road tires.

  • @rene-yvescote3954
    @rene-yvescote3954 5 месяцев назад

    Nice bike by the way there is no such thing about too much front brake on a standard setup. When you change the geometry of a motorcycle you should be very careful about your style of ridding. A light front end is not that easy to control in this case you might have to use a little bit more rear brake. Also knobby tires are mainly made for soft terrain like sand and dirt, on the road they will degrade very fast and become very slippery. Good luck be safe.

    You should get an inversion table, it will fix your back. The older we get the more we compress the vertebrae‘s. I have used one for 30 years without they suggested surgery 30 years ago. My back hurts, 5:15 I hang on the table it fixes it🥳😂

    I've got a '97 Sportster 883, and I loved your comment about riding a slow bike. My Dyna will get me in trouble, but I can bomb around back roads on the sporty and not worry too much about getting ticketed. You mentioned upgrading the intake. Any thoughts on switching from the CV carb to something like a Mikuni to get snappier throttle response and make the most of what the 883 has for zipping around? I've thought about doing that on mine for a few years but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

    • @JordanRay
      @JordanRay  5 месяцев назад

      I’m pretty familiar with CV carbs and tuning them now finally, I’ve just started working on a Mikuni and maybe with more experience I can identify better variables. When I ride the wifes dyna it makes me want to ride fast 😂

    A Sportster is at least 50lbs lighter than a Royal Enfield 650 twin, or a Triumph Bonneville, so it's not too heavy. As far as the tyre wear goes, here's the thing; Knobby tyres are for OFF ROAD RIDING, NOT FOR SEALED ROAD SURFACES.

    Ditch the wood structure toy hauler, get an older metal structure standard camper. Buy an older box truck to tow it with an to haul the bikes in. Both are pretty cheap an would do a better job. You are not going to find an affordable, well built toy hauler. They are either junk or the price of a house And you have seen how much you compromise to have your home have motorcycle storage. Getting a camper that is only a camper and a truck made to haul things is a better option IMHO. A decent 1990s metal structure camper is less than $5K. And a decent 1990s box truck is around $5k-$10k.

    • @JordanRay
      @JordanRay  5 месяцев назад

      Sounds good in theory, we looked at our newer used one because most of the rv parks we were traveling to have a 10 year age limit. Ours is wood flooring with steel chassis and aluminum frame. It was the largest garage toy hauler that would not exceed my trucks tow rating.

    I don't understand why people put off road tires on a street bike. Maybe you could explain the reasoning behind that.

    • @JordanRay
      @JordanRay  5 месяцев назад

      Aesthetics usually- but for me I use to take this down Ohio’s back country roads. I wanted a scrambler sportster and as my needs or curiosities arise I modify the bike as necessary. My first set of 50/50 tires wore perfectly, they took me to West Virginia to Pennsylvania on and off road. So this different set of tires have me perplexed why they are wearing badly, either way I probably will do a street tires next because my needs have changed, thanks for watching. ✌🏻
