    I love that your honest it's like this for so many now. We've lived in overdraft for a year, took me til 43 to clear debts from being reckless in 20s so that's massive for me. But we cannot afford the normal bills, food etc. We are skipping meals, its getting stupid! Keep going girl, i just hope things start to improve for u ❤❤❤

      Thank you, honesty is the best policy. Sometimes debts come from just trying to survive and enjoy life too. I have about £17k of debt I'm working on paying down.
      I'm so sorry to hear that you're having to skip meals due to the COLC that's just insane. The system isn't designed to make us win. Instead the wanna keep us prisoners. I pray things change for the better for you and your family. Sending lots of love 🩷

      @@jahcia I got very ill in 2005, still ill and disabled now. It meant giving up career, hubby had to become full time carer. We went from £60k a year to £16k. It can be done, but it's so hard and it feels so cruel sometimes. I am grateful for everyday and seeing others having struggles, although makes me sad, makes me feel like I'm not alone x

      @lisah.7758 so sorry to hear this, honestly. It breaks my heart how the system fails people with longterm illnesses and refuses to help them etc. Life is indeed hard that is why I do not sugarcoat anything on my platform. People want to throw hissy fits because of where people choose to shop etc when they are bigger issues in the world. I have always worked. I am in a low income job because I am a single mom. I left my job where I was earning more for my mental health and also for my son. You are definitely not alone. I pray things get better for your household. The rich just keeps getting richer...smh. Love and light to you and your family.💛

    It’s so tough out here, stay strong. As you say it’s not forever and only temporary, you are doing the best you can and that’s good enough.
    It’s always good to have savings no matter how small, I think you’re doing the right thing with savings, as we never know what is around the corner. Big thumbs up from me. ❤

      Hi Miss K, thank you. Can't keep fighting the inevitable (cost of living). Though the increase breakdowns might seem small they do add up, especially if your wages don't increase. Definitely need the savings cause the amount of times I've had to empty it to cover this, that and the third. I heard car insurance has gone up lots. Thanks for the thumbs up and thanks for watching 🤗 🩷

    The cost of living is insane, they say inflation is going dow but when it has increased by 10% the previous years, the income is not, so we feel the pinch. Visited my private healthcare gynecologist yesterday, you know my issues... the appt was 1.600NOK, which is £118! 😳 It was way more than I expected. They are not in our NHS. I had to use the rest of the grocery budget for the month, but it is worth it, waiting time to get into public healthcare is long.

    • @jahcia
      @jahcia  6 месяцев назад +1

      The wages never reflect the inflation. This system is designed for us to suffer. It's so sad. Hope everything went well at the gynaecologist. Definitely agree with you, the waiting list for me to get seen on the NHS is almost 2 years, ridiculous! We always have to pull money from somewhere else to cover necessary expenses. I don't know when things will start getting better cause our government is a complete joke. Thanks for watching 🤗 🩷

    can you explain, I got a bit confused, is this for 2 weeks, and then in two weeks you will get your next pay check and so you will do another budget of that pay check? Also your rent is £125 a week? where on earth do you live, because I want to move there! I'm in London in a 1 bedroom flat paying £450 a week plus gas, water, electricity, council tax, broadband.
    Also I didn't know I was low income because I work as a gas analyst, I earn £2250 (after tax, national insurance, dental insurance, health insurance and student loan), a month, and am getting by by the skin of my teeth each week.
    To be honest my bills aren't as high as yours because I am a stingy little cow, my phone bill is £6 a month for 8gb internet and unlimited calls and texts (I'm on three and its a very old contract, they try to increase it every year but I threaten to leave and they let me keep it each time). My gas is about £25 a month because I don't put the heating on, try to take cold baths, and don't cook every day- I batch cook so it saves gas money. My electricity is about £45-50 a month and that's with EVERYTHING minus fridge and freezer off except when absolutely necessary, i.e. do I really need the living room light on at 10pm when I am scrolling the internet, no! the computer screen is lit, EDF can piss off thank you! my internet is £17.99 a month, thank you community fibre, fast cheap and good service allowing me to work from home 3x a week, my transport is £3.50 a week- I walk 1.5 hours each way to and from work to save money and the £3.50 a week is for when I volunteer my time to tutor GCSE kids that I have to take the bus for an hour each way. My council tax is £156 a month, water bill is £48 a month. And like you I do the QUALITY over QUANTITY shopping style. So I buy avocado and berries, and not 10 packs of cheap noodles or some other nonsense. I value my health and wellbeing thank you. I have about £130 a month left over to spend on food or anything that breaks lol. But I am a single person household, so I make it work, just.....

      Hi Monica, yes, I split up the incomes I get now instead of doing a full monthly budget as I was spending very willy nilly, so this works best for me. I use my first paycheck to cover all of my utilities, pay half of my rent, half the grocery shop and some of the debt, etc. My rent is about £114 per week with the new increase (I'm out, so I can't check the exact amount). That's correct. I'll do a second budget for my second paycheck. I live in the East Midlands. The £450 include your utilities or not?

    Plan to go to a mobile rolling contract in the future I.e Giff Gaff, sell your old mobiles. Sounds like if you do into the future you will save hundreds per month. I quit getting new phones and the peace of mind is real. My fancy phone broke and I’m back to a 6s 2 years now 😂 but saved for a new one. Guess what will make get my next new android now? My banking apps becoming unsupported as my phone is too old. Nothing else… am never getting a new phone on credit/contract, unless it’s zero interest and it’s pulling from a savings account with the money saved collecting interest. One step at a time. The pandemic made me sort out my finances even though I worked throughout not being furloughed. I now save for everything having got mad at myself paying off debt and ridiculous interest.

      I won't close my bank accounts from when I first moved to the UK. Helps with my credit score and all that jazz. 4 of my accounts are with the same bank so it makes life easier for me. 🩷 This way I can pay my bills by direct debit from once account and it is easier to track.
