Hyman is good but caught lightning in a bottle last year (plus he’ll be 34 partway thru the season). Who else do they have? Zero depth and their defense is pathetic outside Ekholm. Goaltending is absolutely sus.
How many more times can any team go back to the well of " we´re going to start like crap and end like gang busters"? I won´t believe that the poor start didn´t effect EDM last year. I would argue they would have loved to have had Game 7 on their ice as opposed to FLA. Also, what if Hyman doesn´t go off this year the way he did last? I think there´s more to the EDM puzzle than what we know...
This game raised my blood pressure single handedly. I'm not going to pretend to be an expert on goalie interference, but Vladar didn't look like he was struggling with Perry. He just looked like he couldn't make the save. The call felt like ass but maybe it was more of a 50/50 judgment call. Whatever. What pissed me off way more was, maybe a minute later, Backlund going behind the Oilers' net and slashing Stuart Skinner on the heel. The refs either missed it or ignored it and there was no penalty called. Nobody even got rough with him that I saw, which is interesting to me because Nurse had already been up close and personal with the Flames twice when they got too aggressive with Skinner's pads after early stops. I have a lot of questions about what happened there. The Oilers' reactions when other teams take whacks at them are usually memorable, not nonexistent. Anyway, I do think it should have been 2-0 with the Oilers on the power play at one minute left in the first, and that is a VERY different game than what actually happened.
I also call him McOverrated. And since I can't stand him and his arrogance I also call him McHated. I agree. He'll never win a Cup. I don't think he's about winning and playing a team game. Otherwise he'd at least try to play some D. He's in it for the stats, the flashy goals and the attention. Players like Barkov are in it to win. He doesn't care about stats or notoriety. He cares about doing what ever it takes to help his team win and that's why he has a Stanley Cup and McHated doesn't.
man, he needs to calm down and realise that nobody is blaming him. every gamne, you play a different team. and sometimes, that team has more will than your team.. and collectively, that matters. you cant control peoples will to fight and win.
I kinda get the Perry interference, he was in front of the goalie between Vladar and the puck while inside of the crease, because goal tending is a game of angles Perry inhibited Vladar's ability to get the the edges of the crease to minimize the angles. Edit: some one on reddit posted a bardown article on goalie interference. In it it says that it is interference if you are in the crease and interfere with the goalie in any way, so screening the goalie while you are in the crease is 100% interference as per the rules. So this is totally interference. Going off that if edmonton wants to win they should just stop being stupid. The current game is the same thing, they make stupid plays and are paying for it.
Everyone needs to stop giving McDavid a pass. He has 2 points in 3 games - will prob want 14 mill+ at contract time. Hes not the best player in the world.
When the commentators are 99% sure that a goalie interference call will go a certain way and it goes the opposite way, we have a problem. Hopefully just early season jitters from the officials.
I was so disappointed when I heard the score. I couldn't watch the game, but I was sure we would win. There's pretty much no team I hate losing to more than Calgary. I'd rather the boys lose to anyone else, than the Flames. I thought the boys would be seething with rage after those 2 losses and destroy Calgary, but instead the opposite happened. Also, how BS was that interference call?!!

I'm a flames fan, and I was surprised the perry one was changed, but the offsides was obviously offsides. And while I know a 2-0 game is very different from a 1-0 game, but the oilers would still have lost...
McDavid is great .... but there will only be one GREAT ONE.
McDavid needs to request a trade to Buffalo where he should of been drafted in the first place
Buffalo would trade half of their ass team for mcdavid and be worse as a result. Im losing my patients with buffalo they need to get their s### together
Lets be honest, no one is requesting a trade to Buffalo
I don't think buffalo wants that trade.
@@jaatynytenkeli The best best centre in the league and a generational talent, if buffalo doesnt want that, only for atleast unachievable pipe dream, than i understand now why they suck. Lol
We can finally pinpoint whats gone wrong boys 🤣
Rangers and oilers game both had horrendous goalie interference calls. Sarcastic ball vibes incoming 😂
He couldn’t get to the top of the crease so I could see that being 50/50
The Perry curse continues
Oilers owners messed up a team that worked
i feel like they're just playing playoff hockey
Once McDavid is cranked up !!!
Another first rounder
They both were quite clear no goals, what's your point?
Perrys was a good goal and arvidsson wasnt even in the play. Both coulda shoulda counted
CM needs a goal soon or they're going to start calling him "Mr. October."
I won’t panic until after two weeks. Oilers always start slow and then it’s lights out!
Good luck with that.
Good time to be a jets fan. But we’ll see how this ages in the ladder half of the season 😂😂
Not a fan of oilers but that Perry goal was definitely a good goal
I so appreciate you playing back the game …I missed the Battle of Alberta almost 2nd to the Stanley Cup! Alberta has my hockey 🏒🥅🇨🇦heart
Lived 9 years in Calgary and its only team other then my REDWINGS I can cheer for. That city is hockey crazy and OMG to be on Electric Ave. in 89, its top 5 sport moments in my life
It's a strat, the ol' rope a dope. Lose enough games at the start of the season so teams underestimate you then full throttle!
Are we not gonna talk about Stuart Skinner getting slashed with no call?
yeah he should have been called for embellishment, Perry hacks Vladar just as hard he just doesn't cry about it.
The rule is that you can't be in the blue paint, very clear. Call it "soft" all you want, rules are rules.
They should just draft Shoresy
Shoresy would definitely get the team going. And he'd take the spotlight off McDavid and Draisaitl. 😄
Is McDavid tired of stupid team mates or what?
Oilers trying to get the coaches fired every 2 years 😂😂
Nah Perry was 100% in the crease throughout the play when the puck wasn't in his zone of play- no goal, good call. Go Sabres, missing skinner already
They'll turn it around. He's still the best active player for sure.
I give him 2 more years.
He is the best player in the NHL, but his team isn't
Anything with Perry and Nurse is not Bueno
The team to watch out for is Calgary, and thanks to Vancouver for that.
Crosby plays for Pittsburgh, not Edmonton.
NHL seems desperate to disallow as many goals as possible.
That 2nd disallowed goal should have counted; the goaltender had time to reset after the interference.
Oh, so sad, Edmonton got two goals disallowed, boo-hoo, poor them. What a world we live in where rules are applied. That seems to be the reaction for commentators for this game. They’re the oldest team in the league, coming off a back to back, and they looked like it half way through the second. They wanted no part of the physical aspect of the game, they didn’t stand up for their top guys, or their goalie when Calgary roughed them up a bit, hell, I think the only time they mentioned Darnell Nurse was when Rasmus Andersson got in his face in a scrum. All the talent in the world and nobody wants to work for it. A little bit of adversity comes their way and they start looking like a baby that took away their favorite toy.
All this trash talk. So what's your resume in athletic sports?
@@ClassicalSquaresoft “My resume in athletic sports?” First, “athletic sports?” As opposed to “unathletic sports?” Second, I would say, stating the obvious doesn’t require a resume. I’m not trying to break down a defensive scheme or figure out if one player was out of place on a pk, but I can tell when grown men are not interested in doing the thing they’re supposed to be doing, I’m a supervisor, it’s part of my actual job, although I think anyone not drinking Oiler Kool-Aid could figure that out. Also, I’ve been watching hockey for 30+ years, so I might know a thing or two about it, even though I don’t have my own RUclips channel where I can act like an insider, that definitely no one else does. Third, what’s your resume for questioning my resume? If you want to disagree with some of my statements, and back them up with your own, cool, but you just dropped a “what do you know,” and bounced. I guess you had some Kool-Aid to drink, yeah?
@@ClassicalSquaresoft It's ridiculous how obsessed people are with the OIlers. Like I get it, they all wished they had McDavid, but I couldn't imagine being this much of a crybaby
damn sorry it happened or im proud of you im not reading allat
Do they really have that much talent? They have 1.1/2 elite stars (Drysack plays only one end of the ice). Hyman is good but caught lightning in a bottle last year (plus he’ll be 34 partway thru the season). Who else do they have? Zero depth and their defense is pathetic outside Ekholm. Goaltending is absolutely sus.
He needs to score goals he is paid enough
Happens every year. The top 6 doesn't start on time. Once they start clicking, they will be fine.
Until jesus gets hurt.
@@harveyhc7438That would obviously hurt badly. But the tam has more depth than it use too. They would still be competitive
I did not know there is a Canadian thanksgiving
its just a different date
Are you fckn kidding me?!?!?! Jeeezuzzzzz 🤦♂️
How smart is that?
How about the clinic that Anderson put on during his goal....
Don't worry, Oilers will go 61-8 down the stretch.
I will have, what your smoking.
The Perry call back is BS Calgary pushing Perry in crease. Had no impact on the shot. The goalie was able to get to his position
Connor Geekie is the best Connor now
Scorey Perry still in the league...
I swear refs are micro dosing this year. This game & the Seattle/Minnesota game were a showcase of horrific calls.
So you can be offside, and in the crease. Huh
Some of these calls are ridiculous, they need get their goalie interference straight, it is way too inconsistent
I’ll never stop saying Mcoverrated will never win a cup. Biggest case of wasted talent ever.
It's three games into the season. This ain't NFL...Calm down people.
They're going for another first round pick.
Wait Now Costco Has An NHL Player
He's getting 16 per on his next deal.
Of course he is? Name a better player (and no you cannot cite stats after 3 games)
He is by far the best player in the world
So by your logic, Panarin is the best player in the world because he has 7 points in 3 games.
😂
Money can’t win championships LOL
Didn’t Oilers have a shit start to the season last year too? Everybody was saying it’s over and then they almost won the cup.
There just playing a 78 game season to help the rest of the league out
Mcdavid a one man show only teams win
Scorey Perry scored a good goal
When the commentators are 99% sure that a goalie interference call will go a certain way and it goes the opposite way, we have a problem. Hopefully just early season jitters from the officials.
yeah. the commentators feelings are the bar you should hold the rules to lmaooooooo.
@@gagnarork not their feelings. You should put at least SOME stock in the opinions of guys who have been part of the game for decades.
At this rate Connor garland will be better by the end of the year
