- Going over what a lot of the other guides forget to tell you, on your quest to get the Guardian Druid Fel Werebear form from Legion.

For all you funny buggers loling at my profanity, go back through my back catalogue and check out my Warlords of Draenor day 1 video... that hit the front page of that MMO-Champion apparently at the time and was even mentioned by Preach ha that's rage and profanity dialled up to 20.
Couple more things. No gain from trinkets in this one either or flasks, neither of my trinkets had beneficial procs. All gear is Dragonflight world quest or world rep gear, I don't raid, not done LFR, and haven't done a single mythic dungeon in WoW ever. Also, the talent "Galactic Guardian" is super useful as when it procs, that boosted moonfire can one shot those eyes if RNG goes your way. The 2 spell kicks are needed because a) typhoon is preferable on boney boy to both knock him away from Velen and interupting him whilst staying out the ring, and skull bash is mandatory for Kruul cos you spend the fight kiting him... so if you try to typhoon interupt him there's a high chance you'll miss, so you need skull bash for that twisted reflection interupt.
It's really good to hear from somebody about the fight that doesn't just say 1 or 2 things and talks about the fight for what it really is. It really is difficult, with repeitition it probably gets somewhat easier like anything else but at least you didn't bullshit anybody.
I'm personally struggling with the kruul phase, i have the inquisitor down, just gotta get kruul and who knows how long that will take.
This has been the first guide that I've seen that accurately depicts the amount of mental strife it takes to do this. So many people act like this is a joke, but this is by far the most difficult thing I've had to do in wow. Watching you live though this trauma play by play was beautiful...

It's both insufferable and nice to have something challenging that isn't faceroll. My main issue with it is the amount of stuff that happens all at once, no human can keep up with all that without addons
Yeah I do m+ to a pretty high standard, get curve all the time, a few mythic boss here and there and this is making me rip my hair out lmao
Still struggling with it (and I'm mostly a healer player) - but this reminds a lot of the Green fire quest for Warlocks during Mist of Pandaria
@@NeilCrossy I'm a multi-CE raider, currently sitting at 2500 IO, timing 20's and PvPing at Duelist level as well as at HotA level in RBG's. I cant' do this mage tower. I've done 100's of runs and then I just gave up. This was in SL and I refuse to do it again. Probs to you and to anyone who actually took the time and did this.

For those who will do - I didn't take a typhoon and didn't take a single sphere in the first phase.

This is the best video I have seen. I have done 100 tries for failure. I don't know if I would ever get past this. The best I got was 30% in Phase II. But gosh, you represent the actual scenario. That Amazon guy pressing the Door Bell... it exactly happened to me when a food delivery guy came, plus one time while just at the end of Phase I, the electricity went off. I have subbed for you coz I am 38 now, and seeing you, I don't feel alone. Wish I could play with you someday. You are a legend.
Best guide I've seen. Love the brutal honesty as well, this has been a pain in my ass trying to get lol
The video helped me alot to figure what to look out for and what to avoid. I managed to get it after 2 hours of trying, maybe 20 tries or something, I didn't count. Gotta say though, you weren't kidding when you mentioned the RNG. There is so much RNG in this it's insane. Incapacitating roar helped me alot too, so I could keep the orbs for the last boss. I googled a bit and it helped to down Variss before he can summon 3 infernals. The less infernals you allow him to spawn, the more likely you will succeed at the second boss. I had just 1 infernal since I melted Variss with every spell I had and focused on him. The second boss was muuuuch easier because I didn't had to fear as much to get knocked off the tower. The knock-back in general is the biggest issue. Just make sure to keep all the orbs for the second one. When he casts his annihilation spell, interrupt him with each orb seperately on each cast. He will try to cast it over and over again. Once you run out of orbs, just interrupt him with skullbash.

Hey just a quick tip for this also. Incapacitating Roar is your saving grace, you dont need the orbs which will save them for the 2nd phase. Moonfire one of the ads so they dog on you not Velen. Drag them to just outside the circle and when they cast use Roar. It also interupts the boss if he is casting Drain Life. and just Thrash/Swipe Spam. Save your orbs for Annihilation casts in Phase 2
Did it in 2024, 10.2.6 DF, the fight is a mess, if you pratice a lot you can clear phase 1 without using a single orb, no typhoon here,i just use roar to interrupt mobs. The real challenge comes with the phase 2, there you will need all your cds to do more damage and control the anihilation casts from the boss, wich can wipe you very hard. Do not forget to interrupt reflection, a single cast can heal 5% of the boss maximum health. If you rotate around the plataform you should be fine for the entire phase. You have 2 charges of survival for the last 2 anihilations and a lot of orbs to interrupt / heal if needed. First time playing guardian druid so i enjoyed a lot this challenge. Incap roar is op for this as well it's better for interrupting the netherStrom casts from the horrors and that way you can save the orbs for kruul but man loved this video lol your truly are enjoyable to watch lmao

Only needed 6 attempts to beat this, actually beat it 2nd attempt after watching this. I didn't know twisted reflections was healing him... kind of funny because I wasn't expecting to beat it so I didn't use food/potions/drums or anything.

I'm trying a strategy of beginning going heart of wild + convoke with boomkin, it deals a good amount of damage. Now i'm being able to consistently going to 50% on first boss, this vid helped me alot with the ads mechanics. Bfore watching this i was dying a lot faster. Additionally, the DBM addon is basically a need to do this

Good question, although I didn't 'pop' any trinkets to get a benefit in any specific situation, one thing I did do very early on in the attempts was to swap out a trinket that drops from a DF world boss or quest (Static Charged Scale) cos it deals nature damage to the player.... I thought thats not great, and the damage scaling might be screwed. But during this fight I used "Blazing Essence ilvl 382" from I think the Obsidian Citadel boss spawns, that just grants you a movement burst buff but you have to be standing still to benefit from that so the proc wasn't much use in this whatsoever as you're moving all the time. The other trinket was the "Primalist Ritual Shell ilvl 382" which doesn't even have a proc!

Dude, this fight is easy... just dont go over 6 debuff stacks, kite the Infernal that knocks back and use the desoriantation raw when those adds do their cast...

I've found convoke build is amazing for mage tower, feral form with convoke did so much dmg 😁 Helped me a lot

I must have watched 10+ "guides" before and during trying this and none of them really offered much... just saying what they're doing rather than why and what to look out for. This was the guide I felt like I needed. Annoying to have to sit through 20 odd minutes but that's life, it is what it is.
thanks alot for the guide!!! it helped me get to kruul about 18% hp but thats where it ends for me, i got 18k hp and one hit of annihalate hits for 17.5k at that time, so if i dont have 100%hp + a cd on me im dead.... for today im 25 tries in lmao

As I recall, Twisted Reflection causes Kruul to heal for 5% of health per hit or something horrible like that.
I'm a new player, been playing since November. Had a great time beating legion, BFA, SL and DF. This is the first time the game genuinely pissed me off. Finally got the first phase down easy and the second boss just wrecks me every time
Twisted reflection heals him if it gets off which means u wont make the enrage timer of the Annihilation stacks
Seems like a perfectly reasonable name for what that's doing then! Tried looking through the combat logs many times at all the abilities but the majority just didn't have an explanation/description. But cheers for clarifying that bit.
@@NeilCrossy I'be been told the orbs reset the stacks of annihilate. Not sure, since i dont seem to get through many of them lol

I got more views in 1 day on this video, on a 1k subs channel, that some Intel sponsored videos I've done that took 3-4 weeks to make on a channel with 78k subs, so the deflation was real. I used to make a few WoW vids back in the original TBC and WoD days but now, I dunno, what can you do that isn't already being done by someone. I do like getting annoyed at things so that could be a start...

7:03 you can survive, Incap Roar does the job without the orb just fine. It's always up when needed, except if you accidentally use it before the Nether Horror spawn.
I managed to do it this weekend after about 60-70 tries, and I am not an WoW-expert. It's really just about repetition to learn the patterns, but there's some pointers that made it easier:
1) Flasks and food is nice for extra damage.
2) ABSOLUTELY don't use orbs in 1st phase, save them for 2:nd, you don't need them in 1st.
3) Incapacitating roar to stun adds, orbs not needed, typhoon not needed.
4) Spam moonfire on boss, that's it. You can' add sunfire and Thrash for it to go faster, but not needed.
For 2:nd phase:
5) Defensive macros
PS: Ignore the golems. As long as you avoid them (and dodge their knockback) they die on their own. No need to damage them.
Loved your take on it! I've watched this multiple times...failed about 60ish times and decided I need to take a break because the bottle of wine I've had is not helping reaction times. But is helping deal with the Bliz f*ckery!! haha. I only got to stage 2 once, and got knocked off with 4%-5% multiple times. :( I am seriously thinking the as$hat that came up with this idea is a sadistic fu*k!!

it's deadly boss mods legion mage tower, I've just released a video showing how to get my addons and you can get it through that. I dont specifically mention the mage tower announcer in that video but you can use curse app to search and get it

@@NeilCrossy yeah my friend sunk hours into this, countless wipes, fair to say he's very salty rn. I believe the dragonflight talent system has made a lot of these encounters much easier, as half the talents we now have are legendaries in SL that couldn't be used. I wiped at 2% on my 5th attempt because I got greedy with no CDs, but your walkthrough really broke everything down for me.

If you have problems, use Phial of the Glacial Fury. It melts absolutely everything.
I tried using pots and phials for the absolutely impossible frost mage encounter which is too highly tuned for the spec right now, and they didn't really work. Some people have released videos showing DF pots doing DF damage to these Legion zones but I think Blizz quickly nerfed/corrected that. Either way, I intentionally avoided using any pots/trinkets/intentional gear buffs to keep this as future proof as possible.

I tried looking through the combat logs but even they didn't explain what half the abilities were doing, I figured it's a better use of time to just deal with them than to research the shit out of it. Could probs find out nested deep somewhere on Wowhead but that was time spent/wasted not just practicing and doing it.

Just under 300 pulls and about 100k it took me to beat this. Guardian Druid mage tower is no joke. I probably used the first 100 pulls figuring everything out. I died with Kruul on 1% and prayed to the dot gods to finish him off. My prayers were finally answered on pull number 287 😂

between my warrior and druid during legion this fight took me like 200+ tries but this time around i managed it in 5 tries lol

Infernals don't need too much DPS attention, because they die on their own (the health decays in time on it's own).
I'm trying in bear form. Not sure if boomkin has a lot more dps cuz Kruul is a bitch to burn rn (do have the white bear tho). There's a trash bug, it locks up if you're in bear form when you enter, just go base form once or start in base form). The first phase is easy once you get it down. Try to spam moonfire as much as you can. You can look towards the eye's eyebeam and you wont get pushed, these arent that annoying if you can stay facing them. Just face em and get to them when you can, just try not to have more than one cuz it will annoy and confuse you. Having a drain life interrupt during the beam can be a pain. 2 moonfires and they die before their cast, sometimes 1, they dont need to become an issue, just delete them. The drain life also takes a few seconds to actually do a lot of damage, so you can take an extra second to do the interrupt if you need to. I use incapacitating roar for the purple adds, better than typhoon cuz you dont have to aim it, just time it, and moonfire them all as they spawn. They only cast Nether Storm once (afaik or has a long cd) and IR will be up next time you need to use it, just dont let them nether storm, it will annihilate you, if youre lucky you can down them before they cast too (its risky), but by 2nd Trash they should be dead, they dont do a ton of damage otherwise, moonfire hurts them a lot too, I spam it on them often. The key is to save the charge interrupt (skullbash) for the boss and inc. roar for the adds on the 15sec cd. I also try to mangle and trash the boss during the charge/skullbash as I run out. Try to stay away from infernals and keep moving so their slam doesnt knock you off. At a distance the slam wont even reach you. There's also a V-shaped pillar that acts as a wall that can help you not fly off, but you cant really stay still on the 2nd phase cuz of boss puddles and adds still spawn. Some people uses gliders for this (lucky DHs). Purplies will always need to be picked up and interrupted (so they dont kill vellen or cast nether storm on you), they are annoying but you only need to target 1 (I think) to aggro all. Save all the yellow orbs for the 2nd boss because they interrupt his Twisted Reflection spell which will heal the shit out of him (very bad if it goes off). And annihilate will always require a defensive cooldown (top off with a heal [instant regrowth proc or Renewal], and you'll need 20-50% mitigation abilities, i.e. survival instinct, bark, or that 1 min talent artifact ability; on rotation). You will need to also rotate use of the orb to both to delay annihilate & stop twisted reflection. Infernals are annoying so try to have as little of these as possible up for phase 2, push ph1 only when adequate, Never stop running on phase 2. I pop potions, drums and cd's during phase 2 for the burn, and remember that its lvl 45 content. Drums are cheap and work, so do older pots, flasks, and gear. (legendaries abilities are disabled of course). It's a f$%king lot going on in phase2 , but just try to keep focused on the task incoming, jump a lot for those purple beams, i think they also slow you. And burn that boss down quickly. Good luck! Perhaps look for a weakaura import for the annihilate and/or better yet, that twisted f$%king reflection.
I did this since restart. Watching the latest videos a d cracking the shits at all the videos. The last vid I saw a guy said to buy dmf dance trinket. Now, I reckon I got lucky with rng but 2nd attempt after getting the trinket I got the wankers down.
Im only a pvp nerd can this be done in pvp gear most is conquest ?
yea cos all the gear gets scaled down to ilvl 150, so even if you had mythic DF raiding gear it all goes down to the same level

Fun fact: Swipe does nothing if you go in in bear form. Obviously you don't want to miss out on your MoTW, so you will shift into bear form at least once before the fight. Took me 5+ tries to realize this.
If your thrash isn't working, don't enter in bear form or shift out and into bear form again
Typhoon isn't needed, incap roar is enough. Only ever need 1 kick that is drain life in Phase 1, and twisted reflections on phase 2, never use the orbs in ph1. Use the moon fire build as you can spam that for good dmg, always face the eyes and 2 shot em with moonfire. Soak the purple ring and smash boss, 5 stacks will usually be the same time as the small aberrations spawning. While they spawn, use stamp roar and moonfire before they start moving and when they grouped you just are dps em down after a incap roar, keep eye on the spawning eyes. NEVER uses orbs to interrupt the adds, use the orbs to make your Phase 2 easier. The orbs stun gruul aswell and heal you to full.
Also incarn is better for this, to use on gruel. Internals do not need focus, just kite and moonfire em.
With no ill intend mate, but you are making the fight way harder than it actually is
This is exactly how i did it more or less. i didnt use any orbs as its just a waste imho. i tried to moonfire all the nether horror and they just melted easily after a thrash and a swipe. kept the decay stack as low as possible but max 5. also went for ursocs fury and elunes favored to help me stay alive. I did not need Typhoon nor did i have it. Skull Bash is more than enough combined with incapacitating roar.
Once P2 pops i had maybe 5 orbs? which made that phase fairly easy.
But tbh it took me 2-3 hours of attempts. Just keep doing it and find talents that fits your approach to the fight. Eventually you'll get it.
Well I've mained a frost mage since vanilla and only played Druid for 3-4 weeks so, it's canny apparent from my derpy spell referencing that I'm not fully versed in all the druid stuff but personally typhoon at 18yds range with 25 second CD seemed preferable to roar with shorter range and longer CD... and not being funny but if you can do phase 1 without using a single orb, mate make a video and lap up the praise. Bear in mind I intentionally didnt use any pots/flasks/trinkets etc to keep the tactic as evergreen as possible into the future... but mate, if you can do it better and more reliably then fair play, go record it in one take and upload it shouldnt take long

this is tough for me. I never even played gaurdian before, just want the mog for pvp. im basically learning my buttons while also trying to learn the mechanics lmao very fun. It definitely doesn't help that there is a lot going on at once. I keep getting knocked because I turn my attention to other stuff, might need to make a focus macro for the skelly so i can moonfire spam other mobs and still interrupt. (update) almost did first phase finally, got booped off once, and since I just got hit by a knock back and used my charge I died. Jeeeez this is a pain. Been doing this over 10 times now, only got 2nd phase once, got grabbed by the things and pushed into a green puddle and died instantly. Now I'm back stuck 1st phase because every time I look at one of the eyes to kill it before it beams me, I get shockwaved off the map the same instant I look away, the rng is horrible in this. A single mistake wipes you. Feel like I am playing some dark souls right now.
Mate if you got to the 2nd phase after only 10 attempts, even if it was just the once, you're doing class. Make sure you spec in the talents so that moonfire hits 2 targets and has that 300% extra damage chance, that procs quite often and can one shot the eyes, also the talent that increases the range of your magic spells as that'll help with targetting and killing the eyes, keep moving, if you're not thrashing adds just keep spamming moonfire on everything in site. As for the knockbacks, you just have to either keep those muppets at a distance or run circles around them.

There's nothing of interest where the screen is cut off, I explained the stacks but other than that I kept the view central. I play on a 32:9 display and changing to 16:9 would have caused me to have to redo my entire interface, if you Google the Dell U4919DW monitor, that's what I was recording on. If I cropped that down into a 16:9 recording it'll have been too small.
I've given up on this skin. I can't bloody do it. I've been trying since legion to do it and I'm no closer now than I was then. And to add insult to injury they refuse to give us the original base reward for completing it now. There's no point in me throwing myself against a wall expecting different results. I hope everyone else can get the skin, but consider me broken.

What UI is that?
Pretty much my own how I've had it for 10+ years, it isn't a canned UI, it's Bartender for the buttons with something called Masque which turns them into circles, and then ZPerl is the player frames. I've also got TidyPlates for the bars over the mobs heads. I should have turned off the damage text as that was getting in the way of seeing the cast bars.
Ur move is glitching cuz ur going in in bear form. Also u didn't explain twisted but it basically heals him to full health if he pops that it's GG's.

Did you do it early tomb? Or pst tomb? It was ONLY difficult in early tomb. That's probably why

Plus, there's tons of guides of people cheesing this with exploits... good job lad but Blizz will just patch that and then what you got
I did it in like 20 attempts, all you gotta do is interrupt casts and kite

i tried this for the first time today. several times in a row...i was dead with in 20 seconds or so no matter what i did. i see no way possible for me to beat it. at this point i would pay them money for a werebear graphic. i cant even believe people can beat this.
Yea mate I tried a dozen or so times before I even knew what was spawning on the platform, then even once I knew what was happening I was literal actually yanking at my hair and audibly yelling at inanimate objects. It's totally possible though, just keep doing it, and every time you wipe come back to this to see what it might have been that did it. Eventually you learn the first phase canny well, Kruul though, he can take a day off

I hate how Kruul is such a dmg check. I can't get enough dmg out to drain even half his life before he casts the 5th annihilation 😭 I don't know what to do. It's so frustrating. I do think I heal him, cause I can't focus on his reflection casts... I hate this so much. I know it's supposed to be challenging, but it's just way too much happening at once for me to handle. On the other hand a friend of mine came out of it after his 6th try and was like 'oh, that was easier than I thought' and I was like 🤬 😂 I don't think I'll ever get the felbear appearance, not unless I start to actually play guardian as a main... 😅
Keep at it mate I don't play Guardian as a main either, I've mained a Frost Mage for nearly 18 years! But I've played nowt but Druid for the last 4 weeks doing world quests and the citadel, that got me used to the style and then obvs 10.0.5 threw a knob up the hoop and changed a few things, but if you copy my talent tree you should be decent. Things like the arcane magic talents are pretty much needed for moonfire damage spamming etc
@@NeilCrossy I JUST DID IT!!!! I was dead, the 5th annihilate killed me, but rng was in my favor and the bleed and moonfire debuffs on Kruul got rid of his last 2% and he ran in the middle....I can't believe I did it!!! It was only my like10th try today. I'm so happy. Thanks for your encouragement and your video. That really helped me to push through this!
Huge thing for this!!! DO NOT ENTER IN BEAR FORM. Its been bugging thrash. literally every bear i seen come out then proceeded to see if their thrash is working. they come out in bear form because of said thrash failing and the horrors kill the npcs
Yea I mentioned that half way through, I wasn't sure or didn't pick up on that it was cos it didn't seem repeatable, but thrash 100% bugged out on me so many times I thought it was server lag as I'm on a heavy pop server
I got mine earlier today using no boss addon like dbm, no guardian experience (resto) and not using typhoon once. Took about 15 tries and was fairly easy imo

in DF it became a joke.. i did it on 3 tries... on Shadowlands i was dying on 5% or so and i almost broke my screen
37 wipes so far. I got Gruul down to 14% on my best try. Funny enough, it was the first one I got to phase 2, which confirms, what you are saying. This is a stupid RNG fight. The next best one he was at 20% and in that phase I interrupted the nether aberrations, so it went on for over a minute. don't know how I am supposed to survive this for three minutes, as this is what I would need to get Gruul down at the dps I am able to pull. Whoever designed this fight is an idiot and a sadist. I don't mind hard mechanics. 5 different area effects, that you can't even see, because they overlap most of the time, so you can't react to them, is just idiotic. Done for today. I'll see if gearing up will help at all.
Have you beaten him yet? I wouldn't call it an RNG-fight, more of a "don't get stressed and phuck up" fight. I got him in about 60-70 attempts (haven't played WoW since Cata), and most were absolutely fucking my own fault for messing something up (getting knocked off the platform a couple of times...).
