No one else on the planet can get away with butt-cheek slapping Hugh Jackman and mouth-on-mouth kissing Sir Patrick Stuart, other than the one and only, Sir Ian McKellen
Yajie Liu To be fair, I think he kissed him on the cheek. But even if it was mouth-to-mouth, he would have gotten away with it because he is Sir Ian McKellen.
The amount of platonic male love in this is making my heart swell. Gay and straight, doesn’t matter-just good friends who take comfort in physical touch. Truly beautiful.
You said it way better than I could ... but I also love to see this ... women give each other a peck on the lips to greet each other as friends, so refreshing to see men to it as well. Where it shouldn't be 'refreshing' and just the norm!
Men entirely comfortable and confident in their masculinity, as it should be... It's one of the things I have to be careful about going to the UK after living here in Asia for over 25 years... Men are a lot more physically comfortable in close proximity over here than where I grew up.
Any straight man that has confidence in himself does not care about gay people and flirting. Its only the closet gay straight guys that feel uncomfortable. And Acting and the Arts in general is dominated by gay men so its something you got to be use to or just dont do.
This is my favourite episode of the Graham Norton Show ever. Simply because these are three talented, humble, down-to-earth and hilarious actors who have a wonderful friendship as well as respect and admiration for one anothers ability to act.
Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart & Ian McKellan (the big flirt) are SO FUNNY together. You just know a dinner party with them, the food would go cold because you're laughing too much to eat.
Beautiful, just beautiful. Nothing pretentious, no egos, just lovely men being themselves and showing love and admiration for each other. My heart is happy.
These 3 actors are part of my childhood, teenagehood and adulthood. I love them. They are my mutants. They made me laugh, they made me cry and laugh so bad. This is my favorite interview. The love and respect they have for each other is just so moving.
I keep coming back to this episode whenever I am at an all time low. It always cheers me up. The friendship between them is soo heartwarming. You start believing that all is right in the world again..
I’m not a fan of James Blunt, but I’d say having Hugh Jackman, Ian McClellan, and Patrick Stewart singing you “happy birthday” must be the greatest birthday memory of all time.
@@clw5537 Wow dude, all I said was that I wasn’t a fan. Maybe pull your head out of his ass where the light’s a little better next time so you can see a bit clearer… But you’re right. @@unowen-nh9ov Are you people all seriously this slow or does his music just evoke some sort of ultra-sensitivity to anything not super pro-James Blunt? All I fcuking said was I wasn’t a fan of his. Still watching this in 2022, when Hugh Jackman is about to return in 2023 for a Deadpool movie as well wolverine. These three men were my childhood and I am so grateful for their amazing talents
You could already see Hugh getting emotional about Sir Patrick saying he was done too. Ugh. I absolutely adore these three together. When I watch these episodes of them together it makes me cry so hard. 😖
you have no idea how obssesed i am with this episode it's so good, the great loving friendship and chemistry between them and the lovely surprise by Ian and every single story they tell, it's just a perfect show with a perfect episode with a perfect guest with perfect stories
To be a comedian one writes and practices jokes. To be a wit is to be funny just off the cuff and shows great intelligence The ability to react to anything and make it funny is grahams achievment What a great joy it is to see him.
These three have probably the greatest chemistry of any three actors together I've ever seen. Very genuine loving friendship. Must be amazing to have friends like this. I've never experienced it.
Hands down this is the best ever episode of TGNS, the natural chemistry between all three of these superstars is fantastic and even after nearly 20 years has passed between their first meeting, the way Hugh Jackman has so much respect and admiration for these giants of stage and screen is fantastic…the surprise introduction of Sir Ian (who was introduced simply as “Ian McKellen” by Graham yet wasn’t corrected, showing Sir Ian’s humility) was simple yet so brilliantly effective. The surprise looks on Hugh’s and Sir Patrick’s faces was just brilliant. However, as hilarious are a lot of the stories that these three regale, the McKellen/Dame Maggie Smith story at the Oscars is the icing on the cake. Graham Norton should be tapped on the shoulders by Her Majesty for the way this show is produced and executed, in fact the whole team should be.
These beautiful men! Legendary talent, class, funny, totally at ease within themselves and with each other. That includes Graham Norton. This will always be the most outstanding talk show on TV.
Camaraderie between Sir Ian Patrick and Hugh is off the charts. It's 100% mutual something which goes beyond money and fame. For large part you forget Graham is even hosting the show such is their involvement in each other.
The friendship between McAllen & Steward made me cry, really - when they met there - cannot understand other minds - feel free what you want to - RAINBOW !!!
It's as if they ran into each other at the airport and decided to get hammered at the bar waiting for their delayed flights..simply extraordinary..such fun.
I watched this a second time. It makes my heart feel full. It's so beautiful, refreshing and calming to see men being human: emotional, vulnerable, authentic. Thank you for being real men.
I just love the Graham Norton show. Watch clips from it all the time. Don’t think any channels are showing it here where I live. The huge standout is the warmth on the show. The liberating atmosphere that seem to make the guests open up in a way not seen on other shows. This is a really warm episode. And all seem so spontaneous singing to James for his birthday. A thing to remember for sure. Also many guests are repeatedly guests on this show. A testament to how great and well renowned Graham is and that the feeling is genuine. Of course guests are carefully planned plugging albums or movies but that’s expected. Thank you for a great show with relaxed great stories from guests
James Blunt is wonderful human being also. He's a newbie compared to these legends but I wish he could have been on the couch with them the whole time. He would have soaked up their stories like a sponge.
If there's someone I truly love and am a huge fan of is Sir Ian McKellen, like Sir Patrick from X-Men and Star Trek of course, Hugh Jackman is adorable but Sir Ian McKellen, he's on another level, I adore him. Anything he does, he's one of the most amazing human beings on this planet
Hugh Jackman... is the ONLY other actor I can think of to have played Aragorn... Like Viggo, he's got the ruggedness and masculine frame.. the wide range of acting emotions ...
This has to be my all-time favorite of all The Graham Norton episodes I have watched. I do not think it is the bromance between Hugh, Patrick, and Ian. Still, their chemistry is so open that you feel a welcomed guest into their close professional/personal relationships. Their ribbing, joking, and laughing at one another are all in front of the backdrop of unconditional acceptance. I felt that energy in the way that James was an immediate inductee into the group in just a few minutes at the end of the show. Graham is an iconic host and is always a vital element of the dynamic, but I did not feel he had to work too hard to foster the ambiance of this show.
I have lways known that Graham Norton Show is a very funny and entertaining show. BUT GEEZ! THIS EPISODE MADE ME LAUGH SO HARD FROM THE START TO THE END! He mostly let the guys run the show. But his interjections were so funny and very great timing!!! Truly my most favourite episode!
That was one of my first theatre shows ever in Australia...didn't know I was watching the beautiful Hugh as he wasn't the name he was yet...but I still say that is one of the best theatre show experiences I've ever seen 28 years later...
This is one of my favorite episodes of the Graham Norton Show! This is the love of friends! Hugh, Sir Ian and Sir Patrick!! It's such a feel-good episode!!!

I live in Georgia (country) and we kiss each other on the cheek while handshake as a greeting. it a common thing here..

"It's about time you died"
LOL. Love their friendship
“A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.” When Ian McKellen arrived.

As Hugh said, they were well into their 2nd. decade of working together when he thanked Ian for supporting him in his 1st movie.
