Michailla Mcalinden, your friend came towards the camera not the other way around. I actually avoided to put the camera on him & his friend standing on the corner. He came towards me, I turned around and he started speaking to the camera. So clearly he wanted to be in the video.
Then you speak about "gang gang, struggle & poverty". I don't know what it is all about but thank you for watching the video 🙂
38:15 Went to school with this guy. There is similar footage of Soho rd from 1987 on RUclips. To think in say 10 -15 years from now we'll be looking at this video and seeing the changes that have taken place.
Go watch videos of 60/50 years ago you would be shocked!
Easy to see that's Birmingham, right enough ........... 🙄

Great video ..thanks..👍👏👍👏

The pub on the corner of Ivy Road used to be called the Beehive , the artitecture is beautiful, I stand to be corrected but I think it may have been run by a West Indian gentleman in the 60,s and 70,s .
The beehive used to be further down the road. That pub on Ivy Road used to be the Gateway to India.
@@MrKajjaGG Thanks for information, your right to mention Gateway to India but that was from late 1980,s , Iam talking about from 1955 when my Uncle arrived in Handsworth , he used to live on Whitehall Road ( house still believe it or not my cousin resides there 66 years latter )
I checked with family they very sure it was the Beehive , the pub you are referring to was The Freighted Horse ,again that was managed by a West Indian family ,untill about 7 years ago it was converted to a clothes shop .
It's amazing to think how many pubs were on Soho rd .
@@akumar7366 Nope, the Frighted Horse is on the corner of Stafford road which is even further down. Where the JK's is in the video. The GTI is now Lime n' Chilli, which you see in the video towards the beginning. The Beehive shut down in the 90's which is further up the road...Unless GTI used to be known as The Beehive before i was born.

@@MrKajjaGG Wow amazing article , thanks for sharing , spot on reference the Frightened Horse , Iam going to speak to my cousin ,who has lived on Whitehall Road since 1955 .
Soon as I get any information, I will update .
Have a great bank holiday weekend .
@@akumar7366 Likewise. Take care.

WOW NICE FOOTAGE
Thanks for watching 🙂
My home for the last 18 years. The video was nice but there's a dark side too.
People's businesses are getting robbed daily by the beggars and the homeless and the police are doing nothing to deter them, just ask around at places like farmfood and lidl. People being threatened at their place of work with violence, sad but true.
Nice to hear the Brummie accents regardless of race, creed etc!!
Exactly
Can we get a night time version
😂🤣🤣
No he would get robbed of his camera😂
Good video but next time get a clear shot of the road names that you cross so its easy to follow your walk on a street map. Lived there 1975-83, nostalgic but changed alot
Hello, thanks for your comment, I’ll do that next time🙂
Enoch was right
Why are our Celtic islands ruined. I am so sad .
William Wallace had his head cut off when he lead the Celts against nthe British back in the old days before Scotland became a part of the United Kingdom in the 17th century. I find the Scottish/English rivalry interesting and the English/ Irish jokes French/English etc , as it's similar to the jokes between the Finns and Swedes, American and Canadian, Small and Large Islanders of the Caribbean and so on.

Rest of Birmingham areas are white racist and segregated Birmingham has a issue.
@martha sheilds lots of predominantly Pakistani areas you mean. And many racists in those...

Most english cities have places like that streets full.of asians
Also home to one of the if not most respected and well known gangs in the Midlands...the burger bar boys!!! B21 ... this is where it all started from!

Alot came 1950s 1960s

You know nothing as 3rd generation born here in the uk
All the racist hardship struggle they had to make better life for there offspring.
I couldn't careless if you saw no white people one white person THIS IS OUR HOME.
@@Adam_K14 You're being very very racist just by your reply, double standards huh ? It's not on to reply on the same basis of something that you supposedly hate. All colours of people inhabit this planet, everybody needs to survive, why don't YOU help educate other people by applying a non racist approach yourself ? Empire came and went, everybody eventually became a victim of the empire maybe you don't see it but I certainly do every day.
