You're awesome and as a 31 year old with a little boy who desperately wishes my husband and I have had more by now, I admire young moms like you so much! You deserved way better than that treatment and the pathetic "now that she's leaving, I'm going to pretend to be supportive" garbage.

@@Ph3nomen0N yessss BUT having a child permanently changes every single aspect of your life. “it’s actually very hard and requires a lot of effort” but you already knew that before deciding to be a parent. no one’s obligated to give you pity because of a decision you made.
@@xjessierm Ye I don't think anyone should pity her, it is her choice. What I don't agree is other people judging her choice, specially when it's the choice of being a good mom to her kids. Sadly people have lost track of how important and magical this whole experience is when done right and it should not be seen as "giving up". But I will agree with one thing, she should NOT make that choice with the mindset "well I'm not gonna win music idle anyway, so I better just be a mom". She should imagine being successful in both choices and THEN decide what is more important to her. And I actually think (hope) this is the point Katy Perry was trying to make.
Especially one that started her career as a Christian singer who couldn't accomplish her goals and admittedly "sold her soul" for her fame and literally has slept her way to the top lol
She's a beautiful woman mom and just right for this Katy Perry watch out you have no idea who you're messing with she's going to sing and make her kids the happiest
You don’t have to refer to yourself as “normal”, insinuating that not being a mother is abnormal, because it isn’t. Katy didn’t mom shame. The “you laid down on the table too much,” was out of line, but the rest of what she said was out of concern. Because being a mom and following a dream can be conflicting. She’s saying Sara was uncertain.
Well I don't know how normal she was she was different that's for sure,, but a mature person would have known the time and effort that it would take to be on the show and what you would have to do if you want, so she definitely made a good choice by going home to her kids
Well done, mother. You gave yourself something and auditioned, twice. That gave you time to truly know what you wanted in that moment, and you should feel proud of yourself. You definitely have self love and don't let anyone say otherwise.
The second that Katy said "self love is just as big as motherly love", I guarantee you Sara Beth knew this wasn't for her. I would also be considered a "young mom" in this day and age and my baby girl is only 6 months old and I can tell you for a fact that self love is no where near as big as motherly love. The love I have for my daughter will ALWAYS be bigger and more important than the love I have for myself. Sara Beth you have a beautiful voice and you sound like you're an incredible mother. Your children will look back on this one day when they're older and have one more reminder of how much their mom loves them. Hold those babies tight and I wish you and your family the absolute best.
I agree with you. I cringed a little bit when she (KP) said that. I don't have kids but have had love for other dependents that I would consider "bigger" than my own self-love (which is also intact). I know all women in my life (that have children) would agree. It just made her sound vain and out-of-touch with what a real parent-child relationship should really be like. If it really is her 'dream', I hope Sara Beth gives it another go when her children are a little older, and that she used this time between to build an even better support system so she can pursue whatever her dream(s) may be! I'm sure A.I. would be thrilled to do an exposé for a 'returning contestant' episode, or something...😶🌫 Peace
It takes more courage to be a mother than to bail on your kids. Good on this mother. Motherhood is true beauty, not the false "beauty" that Katy Perry portrays.
@@TWHowlYou have no idea the amount of courage it takes as mother to walk away from something you want so you get back to the people you love. And then have everyone form an opinion about your choices. They asked her what she wanted to do and she told them, that’s strong.
I don’t care what Katy Perry thinks. Being a mom is hard! Being a parent period is hard. There’s no quitting being a parent unless you give your child up completely and have nothing to do with them. This mother knew she needed to choose her kids over that life and to me she made the right choice.
Good for her. She'll get way more opportunities for what she just did instead of continuing with the show. She's got the talent. And now she's on her own terms. Well done!
Girl shut the hell up katy perry didn't do nothing wrong that girl is just wayy to emotional 😢AHhHHhH but Katy didn't have to say that so you're not completely wrong 🤔😢🖤
u clearly HAVEN'T seen the old american idol and x factor UK auditions from the 2000's then cause he did criticise people on their looks , body etc. he was mean but made me laugh haha
As a mom, taking time out for yourself, nothing wrong. You cant pour from an empty glass. Sad she left, but Im hoping she will be back. Loads of talent. See you soon Beautiful mamma.
She did do something for herself though. She went there and auditioned twice, and that was enough for her to realise what she truly wanted. She didn't sit at home and not try. She should definitely feel proud of herself for the fact that she gave it a go.
@@SeanWinters did you stop doing what you loved because you got criticized? Did you stop being yourself because you got bullied? She can choose to come back if her 2nd passion is singing. When the kids grow old enough for her to pursue it, she can do so. Being in the entertainment industry, she needs to learn it takes guts and you have to be open to criticism. We're judging Katy, right? Thr same way she might get criticism for one mistake she will do in the future.
@@dailieswithkay What you’re talking about is constructive criticism and persevering through rejection. And you’re right, that’s what it takes not just for the music industry, but for anything in life. But there is rejection, and then there is personal attack and bullying. Criticism is “your voice just isn’t good enough”, not a personal attack on the lifestyle you chose. It’s not tolerated in the workplace and the music industry shouldn’t be any different. And if we continue normalizing this without any consequences it will just continue to perpetrate these narcissistic celebrities god complexes and let them get away with abusing good, hardworking people just because they can.
You can tell this lady is a good soul. To be able to reject the temptation of what I would consider an evil industry like that right in it's face gives me a tiny bit of hope for people.
And also think they need to give up everything for their children and to be afraid of change. Stay comfortable. Stay in the back burner. As a mother myself, I choose to show my kids you CAN be a mother AND still chase your dreams.
@@JV-jc7ci Making assumptions about what total strangers who you don’t even know will think when they grow up decades from now takes a lot of nerve... Oh but you’re a mother so you must be God and by default know everything.
Well she totally did shame her in the first audition, but from these clips I don't believe her dropping out was because of Katy. Katy was being an ass in the first audition, but had a different tone in the second. For the contestant for sure a stressful situation.
Katy Perry wouldn’t be paying any of these contestants dust if she weren’t getting paid to play big sister. I believe “Mom” could tell that something was very, very wrong with the whole process from the start. And yes Katy Perry did Mom shame her.
She didn't "shame" her. Perhaps she embarrassed her. It was a joke that would be funny with a friend, but could well be a bit uncomfortable from a stranger. But it wasn't "shaming". In no way was it that.
Sara deserves the golden ticket because her attitude her behaviour and the way she handled Criticism from katy shows shes phenomenal ....she deserves the golden ticket to Hollywood and also should be offered a job as a American idol judge as she can think out of the box and shes a ball of energy.... Sara can uplift souls shes a good Character ....she has this positive Energy ....ive only watched her audition for few minutes and i didnt want her to leave the stage ....im sure the audience felt same way.....
Katy says she respects others yet mom shames a young mother who has done everything for her family. Sometimes I feel like she needs to keep her comments to herself.
Exactly what was offensive about joke? She was subtle so can't be that, last I heard married couples having sex to get kids was a biblical obligation and socially accepted. So please explain what was offensive about it or mother shaming? Last I heard vast majority of parents still conceive via sex.
She showed her cards during the audition when she said basically make up your mind what you want because "there are people who would lay down their life for this ticket" I think it's obvious where Perry's heart is and I'm not surprised she loves herself as much as her kids. She doesn't understand this mother. She clearly despises the person who chooses to lay their life down for their kids rather than themselves. For some of us, raising those kids IS THE DREAM.
@@vcamie8755 Why can't people have dreams, careers and be parents? Why does been a home maker make you a better parent? Is it not mother shaming to straight up say having dreams or career is negligent parenting? I rather kids have parents showing them how to work for things and have dreams than give up and run away.
@@phillipscott7049 I never, ever, said or implied that. Nor do I think that. My point is Perry's attitude could only be described as repulsed when she pretended to vomit after the girl said she had three kids. And I personally think to say "self love is as big as mother love" is a depraved thing to say. Women work extremely hard, and have careers they love, and that is not wrong. It doesn't make them worse parents. But I've never heard anyone say their self love is as big as their mother love. I would LITERALLY DIE for my child. I can not even imagine a suggestion about laying down my life for a career. Now, in regard to the "dream" comment I made. I was specifically referring to the young woman who decided being with her family was more important to HER than chasing a music career. It's the right choice for HER and I understand that because being a stay at home is my dream and I've worked very hard to achieve it. Some people don't understand that and it's looked down upon as though it's less desirable or successful than a lucrative career. Also, I went to school in my late 30's while I was pregnant and started a small business. I work very part time, because staying home is my 1st dream.
@Yorker Hans when you tell someone that they're basically not good enough, regardless of who you are to them, it might actually stick. Some if not most people go about their lives hearing this over and over. Positivity leads to good things just like negativity can lead to bad. Not everyone can be a hell of a fighter everyday and never give up mostly to prove everyone wrong.
@Yorker Hans I wouldn't describe Katy's behaviour as aggressive. The girl is young but she's lived. Clearly, she has 3 children and an extremely strong sense of decorum. 'Sometimes' people look at someone and assume way to much, that's why Katy's opinion changed so drastically.
It is for her since she just parents part time and lets the nannies handle the rest. She has the easiest life and is clearly a bit narcissistic and a little too self loving
Way to go, Sara Beth. You seem very spiritually minded. Heavenly Father will guide you, not some judges. You have a wonderful singing voice which I am sure you can use to uplift mankind. Love your humility and purity!!!!! 😍🔥🙏🕊️
I absolutely love her hair. Good for her for actually giving her singing career a go! I’m a mother too so I understand her leaving. Best of luck to her 🩷
Sara, your inner beauty is radiant and shines through in your appearance, kind, caring demeanour, and your angelic, God-given talent . You sing like an angel and have a beautiful, unique sound. How lucky are your children to have such a beautiful devoted, selfless and talented mother (my daughter still remembers me singing nursery rhymes to her as a Baby) Childrengrowup too quickly and as ive gotten older, ive realised its the simple thing in life like the love of a family that are the most meaningful. Like you, I was a young mother and I felt personally blessed that I was; because as I got older I ended up diagnosed with MS and wouldn't have had the stamina that young children need. God always has a plan. You are doing an incredible job and are a real, genuine earth angel. The world is lucky to have been blessed with such a beautiful human. Keep on being yourself and listen to your inner voice. The only person that needs to approve of your life choices is you. Being a mother is one of the most noble things you can do in life! There are many self-centred, shallow people out there that could learn a great deal from your love and devotion to your family ❤. Thanks for letting the world have a glimpse of your incredible talent andkindness!
The judges questioned if she even had a dream when all she said in the first audition was that she was processing. That is valid! Who wouldn't be processing to suddenly get such a chance when your babies are still young? They came down on her hard instead of asking her for clarification. And why should it matter that everyone who auditions says the same boring 'I have a dream'? Talent is talent. That woman has talent. I hope she does something with it and shows up the judges.
i felt from the beginning that she was not ready for this. Even if she mentions the joke from Katy, it was only a joke and it meant no harm. And she is using that as a reason for leaving the show. But she was just not ready plain and simple. I think that if it was her dream, she would have stood a chance of winning because she has a great voice! Everything has a place and time... it was just not the right time for her.
She did say it herself-" I am not gonna win anyway ". This doesn't sound like she wants to be there surrounded by the talented and potential contestants regardless she's a mother or not.
Nah, Katy hurt this woman's spirit.. you can see her internally breaking during her audition. When that happens to any individual they lose hope and motivation.
@@zoelane8106 I think "too nice" is used very loosely to excuse passive aggressive behaviour. If she was offended, she should have asked for an audience with Katy, expressed her hurt at the comment, allowed Katy to apologize to her and encourage her more as she tried to do when Sara called it quits on the stage. Not holding people accountable for their $hit regardless of who they are, but removing yourself and then publicly thrashing them is not "too nice" if you ask me
@@gabiwhitmer1477literally katy was telling her that she has a fighting spirit and wished her luck. She just told things as it is. If you’re not that serious, why are you here anyway? You would not come for anyone else like this, trust me
Give me a break. If she can't handle one racy comment then she's in the wrong place anyway. I admit Katy's comment was slightly over the line, but mom shaming? Not exactly. It was a sex joke in context with lying on the table.
@Katyperry01230 I would love to chat with you via email Katy. Although I fear you may actually be an old Chinese man somewhere on the other side of the world wanting me to give you the pin of a pre-paid credit card. lol.
I personally don’t say anything rude of what she did because Katy Perry is right. I am one of those people that would die to be over there and get a golden ticket. If you want to choose your babies, that’s OK however, let somebody else have a turn and want to be a performer.
She literally did. Even if she didn’t though, what right is it of yours to discriminate and decide who should have an opportunity and who shouldn’t based on circumstances that can’t be changed? I can guarantee you that you have listened to, bought, or supported music from a successful artist who also manages a private family life. It’s fine to want to “die for a golden ticket” and have drive behind your dreams, but not at the cost of losing humanity.
You do realize that the only way to agree with Katy perry on this is if you possess extreme narcissistic tendencies and believe you have the ultimate opinion which somehow allows for the discrimination against someone based on a set of factors you've outlined as being problematic simply because it's not the route that you would take. Like how damn self conceded can you people be? Your not that important, get over it. F your Golden ticket, how about that.
I respect this young lady for choosing her children over the limelight. To her family is more important. That is how it should be. These celebrities have nannies that take care of their kids most of the time and they have not much to do with them at all.
It was clearly an inappropriate joke that should not be made, on live TV especially. But, I don't think this is why she dropped out.I don't want to speak for her because only she knows exactly why. Katy Perry was the deciding vote that put her through the first time. They also even voted her through Hollywood so there was really no bad blood here on Katy Perry's part. She dropped out because she wanted to go home and be with her family which is not a bad thing. She can still have a music career closer to home.. Katy Perry should definitely apologize she quite frequently says and does things I don't really like either. She can be a bit much over the top sometimes.
You say that, but Sarah Beth's kids are young. If she's teaching them to be strong individuals, she can't very well stand by that without a good example of standing up for self-respect. The kids won't get it now, but one day, when they're old enough to grasp the magnitude of her decision, they're going to have nothing but respect for their mother standing up and representing what was most important for her. And that is the sanctity of her family and respecting that. If she'd just let it slide off and not left, what would her children have thought down the road when she's trying to teach them the value of self respect, but she put it aside for fame? No, this was COMPLETELY about the low-blow from Katie. If it had been about anything other than the creation of those miracles of hers that bring her so much joy, she could have continued on. But exiting was a life lesson for her KIDS that they will learn about later on. And this sweet mother's stock will be so much higher with her kids because if it. You probably won't agree with me, but being the father of 4 children and husband to the most incredible woman I've ever known, if my wife had been shamed like that, she would have done exactly the same. She'd have gone to the next round and exited ON HER terms, albeit with more words to explain how wrong Katie was in that "joke". IMHO, Katie got off easy on this one, but Sarah Beth extended Katie GRACE when she had every reason not to, and that is another life lesson she can demonstrate to her children and explain why she decided to do that. Overall, there is a lot to unpack down the road for Sarah Beth, but she left with dignity and not lashing out and is an incredible woman and mother for that.
@@_seekingthetruth_1447 I don't like how Katy behaves sometimes and only Sara can say how it made her feel. She did good and should totally get out in her community and sing and do music close to her babies. I will never fault her for living her way. Katy needs to dial it back a lot.
I thought when Katy said laying on the table she meant Sara had been under the knife a few too many times for her. I thought it was a wholesome joke and that Katy was uplifting the young woman to say how brave she was for doing that. I don't get the "Mom Shaming" thing, I saw none of that in this video. Katy also told her she shouldn't quit because she was so good and she had SO MUCH potential. She was literally so sweet to the young mother. Everyone's just so sensitive now. They never like to clarify things and just take them to heart because it's what they think it means. This is why we talk to people, so there are no misunderstandings. No hate to the young mother at all though, she had guts to do what she did.
I agree with you. The woman didn’t really want to be there! Katy asked if was her dream she said no. If she wasn’t ready she should go home & try again when she is ready!
It was a mean and nasty comment about laying in the table too many times! She might as well have said "you should've kept you knees together and you wouldn't be a young woman with 3 kids". It was an awful and inappropriate thing to say! I feel really bad for this young lady, you could tell it embarrassed her and frazzled her, no wonder that she didn't want to stay. On the next show Katie's gushy gush was bullshit, she should be ashamed of herself!
I am lost where's the bomb shaming? She simply said if it wasn't your dream that maybe you shouldn't be there. I'm judging how she came across On TV doesn't exactly show that that is her dream. Her leaving off stage after performing is dramatic. Hurdher going into this huge rant about being mom shamed as dramatic. If it's not your dream it's not your dream and that is OK But there's just so much sensitivity and dramatic ness and makes me want to throw up. There has been many mothers who have came on Agt Who really value the opportunities that were given to that period and this woman was handed opportunity and she literally just threw it away . That's dramatic And a waste of opportunity
Don’t get on Katie Perry, she tried to keep her in the competition but the girl said herself, this wasn’t her dream, she also said she was being selfish by leaving her kids at home was being selfish, she has to want it, to make it a career to help support her children, Katie’s a new mom too, she wasn’t mom shamming. So I disagree.

Society shouldn’t shame women OR men for wanting to put their children before themselves and value family over personal ambition or personal goals. My mom was a lot like Sara, she even said so. She had two kids by the time she was 25 married to my daddy who was 11 years older. My dad didn’t force her to choose to be a stay at home mom until I went to high school and my sister went to middle school, she chose that. She loved her job as a nurse but she loved being a mother more. She found fulfillment in motherhood and wifehood more than nursing ever did for her. Did she have ambitions? Yes! Does she love herself? of course! I’m sure Sarah Beth loves herself too. But both Sarah Beth and my mom value being a mother over their goals which is fine and if you have kids you should love them more than you love yourself and value them and the time you spend with them more than anything else. Same goes for dads. It’s not to say that Sara could never pursue personal goals and that women need to give up all personal ambitions or career aspirations for motherhood. In fact, Sara could do what my mom did once me and my sister were old enough I was 16 and my sister was 13, she started working again because we didn’t need her so much anymore, we were older. She can wait until her kids are a bit older and don’t rely on her as much. It’s her personal choice. If Sarah Beth loves being a mother and wife and nurturing her family more than a potential music career, good for her!
Mom shames? She literally saw through her: she’s there just for fun because even if she’s super talented she has no real intention of becoming a singer and commit herself. That’s what Katy pointed out and she’s a mother too! I don’t understand what’s the fuss is all about
Are you kidding me?! Katy's demeanor and words were hurtful to Sara Beth. Katy should know better, being a mother herself to not mom shame. It was wrong and no people aren't sensitive nowadays. People are calling people out and speaking up. Katy used to be one of my favorite celebrities, but the past few years on American Idol, her whole self sucks.. the way she talks to people is raunchy and disrespectful. I also won't be offended if people disagree with me or comment back. I said what I had to.
"Honey, you've been laying on the table too much." Comment or joke on the performance not personal lives. It's not about being sensitive. It's about being a jerk.
You walked away and showed that family is way more important than a tv-show Have seen several of your videos and you do NOT belong in a tv show where artist tells you what you are.. I know it’s hard to get an into that tiny crack to get your music out there - You got this.. They have no chance to “select” your music - You are their chance to be a part of something so big and should be begging to work with you ( in my heart ).. Hope you never change and always keep one foot on the ground and keep fighting as ‘the mother with a goal’ and laugh at their jealousy… 😊💪🏻
Good for her!! You are way too nice for Hollywood! If you are reading this, just know that you have a lot of respect from your fellow moms. You did the unselfish thing. You did what Jesus would have done. Katy Perry has lost her way. Keep being the humble, kind individual that you are!!
Sooo she made a comment that was “hurtful” but the same lady that made a “hurtful” comment sat there and tried to get you to stay cause she thought you where talented…
Katie was supportive after the fact, only to encourage her to stay. But doesn't seem to know what the underlying issue was for the contestant, not every one has the same sense of humor. I smiled on hearing, but it was a low blow as well.
It wasn’t mom shaming at all. Katy was being real. The joke was too far, and she should have refrained from that as it wasn’t appropriate in the setting. But her leaving Idol confirmed Katy was right that it wasn’t her time to be doing the show
Katy was rude, but it was her own lack of drive that made her leave. She honestly didn't want it. To put that on one of the judges is wrong. Sara obviously doesn't have the confidence or desire to be a singer.
Bullshit. Toxic entertainers are. Actively discouraging another women who she knows won’t make it far because studios don’t want to hypersexualize moms. Young childless entertainers are more profitable distractions to make audiences spend money on music instead of real shit at home.
I don't think she would have even thought twice about it if people didnt bring it to her attention. Katy literally just said it off the cusp, she didnt mean to mom shame in anyway. Kind of bizarre that its been blown so out of context.
Katie was not funny in this situation, and perhaps her inability to see this in sarabeth, shows her inexperience, but this is the world we live in unfortunately. If we could build up our brothers and sisters, this country would never be seeing these videos. Love yourself enough to be comfortable giving love to others!
She was not serious and Katy knew it! She took someone elses place that might have wanted it more. No bad things to say here at all. Maybe her nerves were killing her. She might be back next year. She is not bad! I hope she comes back and rocks it. Katy also saw her fighting spirit. She wanted her to stay!
They didn't like this because it rubs their noses in the fact that people don't need their "industry" to find happiness, especially as most of the people in the "industry" are extremely unhappy.
She's just milking her 15 mins of fame, she couldn't take criticism and a bit of banter and would rather quit and make a song and dance out of it rather than get rejected. Her reaction and subsequent actions on social media sum up the entitled and soft generation she's part of.
Katy Perry is a mom and all she meant by that was my goodness I only have one how do you cope with three kid this is what I see in my opinion. I don't think she meant it in a bad way.
The insult was perhaps a tad distasteful, but Kaya should have asked for an apology and stayed in the competition. I don't think Katy meant her any harm, it was a spontaneously moment Katy spoke her thought without using good discernment.
I totally support Sara Beth . She is a beautiful mother of 3 little children who need her. They are only going to be little once and for a very short time. Leaving a music competition to be with your children is not "giving up"! I would say it's stepping up. Enjoying your family is self love. Also, the way Katy Perry disrespected her is disgraceful. All of the judges acted ridiculous when Sara said that she has 3 children. Sara, your children are so blessed to have you and so is your husband. Way to go mama!
Oh my god you’re so insensitive and ridiculous. Katy Perry isn’t god or royalty, she’s just one person who happened to get famous. There are plenty of amazing singers who never get anywhere.
But Katy was right, she only thought about her babies, she couldn't focus on stage. She's better off with her kids, still young, will have some more, and that's okay.
There was no mom shaming. Katy understood that she was coming from being a full time mother, her current dream, to try out singing because she has a great voice. But singing wasn’t her dream. Katy gave her a shot then Sarah chose to leave cause she thought she didn’t have a chance at winning. Singing wasn’t her dream and you could tell.
Katy Perry should’ve apologized for what she said in the audition. After all the public backlash to Katy she’s so self centered that she didn’t consider what people were saying to this lady. Katy is used to it but this is an ordinary woman and I’m sure a lot of Katy’s fans had a lot to say about this mommy while sticking up anonymously for Katy. The hurt she felt she would have had to swallow it and deal with an unapologetic Katy it would’ve been miserable for her.
Exactly! This is a perfect explanation. I'm glad Sara Beth chose to leave. I wouldn't have stayed either. Katy broke Sara Beth's spirit. It's so noticeable during the audition. Her color faded a bit. Sara Beth held herself together so well. Good for her for leaving
I don't think she was "mom-shaming" her, it appears to me Katy saw a huge potential from Sara Beth to do good on this competition and that's why she was passionate convincing her to stay. I was honestly rooting for her, I thought she's amazing. But at the end of the day, she made her choice and that is her Family and I admire her for that. I hope we'll see you again performing in the future. Xx
This is ridiculous. Katy knew she wasn't dedicated and then she proved her right. Katy wasn't shaming anyone. Poor form and shame on the girl for going along with the narrative. Katy isn't a mean girl. All this girl did was show shes not tough enough for the competition.
Throughout this Katy was so supportive and kind to her. She even gave her strength at the end. It's crazy how everyone is twisting her words and making her a villain. Also the contestant should be a little more careful with the position shes taking since it looks like shes critiquing katy for something that did not happen. Trying to get attention on someone else's behalf never works as one wishes.
Can no one just take a joke anymore ? Honestly didn't feel like she was being spiteful in anyway it was a joke but everyone has different views and opinions everyone feels different
How was that joke mother shaming? Acknowledging sex involved in having kids is not shameful. What is more offensive are all people attacking Katy Perry with vitriol over something so ridiculous and totally inoffensive. Even biblically it's an obligation for married couples to reproduce and for most that requires sex...seriously get a grip people.
She is basically telling her she's opened her legs too many times.. it isn't just about what is said, it's about how it is said. I would've been pissed if Katy would have told me some bullsh*t like that on national television. And I wouldn't have been nice about it. Sara Beth held her composure well. I'm glad she left. Katy's words were starting to settle in Sara Beth's mind the instant she started saying them. You could literally see Sara Beth spiritually breaking because of Katy's words and demeanor.
@@gabiwhitmer1477 noting she had three kids so quickly is nothing of sort, maybe if Katy had been unsupportive or dismissive you could draw that conclusion and even if she straight up said she was going at it like a rabbit it's not offensive. Most young couples do after all.
Watch Katy s kids have babies at 13, it's called karma, not that there's anything wrong with that but Katy might not like it if someone says that about her kids
@@lauringrace1389 Yes just “kind of”. Katy said something that I guarantee many people were thinking. Was it inappropriate to say to someone who’s brain is not fully developed? Yes. But Katy still rooted for the contestant by asking her to stay and sing with more confidence in the audition. These facts alone are reason enough to believe that what she said was inadvertent. After hearing the contestant say “I just feel like I’m not good enough and I probably won’t win anyways” Katy literally addressed this because she could see it through her performance/behaviour.
How? Even in biblical sense procreation between husband and wife is not shameful, in fact go forth and multiply is one of biggest obligations. And socially most people seem to acknowledge sex involved in making babies so how was the joke degrading in ANY way?
I’d miss my babies too… that industry is not all what it’s hyped to be either… Hollywood is terrible. I bet it was insanely stressful and she just wanted to hold her babies 💔 we have NO idea what goes on when the cameras shut off. No one ever thinks about that.
Ok hold on yes katy made a inappropriate joke but she was being so supportive to her like this turned into something bigger than it was katy wasnt trying to hurt anyones feelings katy was supporting her the whole way through so why is katy getting hate like
Just watched this and I guess I'm missing what Katy Perry did that was so bad. Yes the comment she made during the audition wasn't great but I don't think she was trying to be mean. In fact, it was Katy that was very outspoken how talented Sara was and appeared to really want her to continue. Sara even gave several compliments of Katy so I just don't understand some of the comments. I think Katy was trying to push Sara, tough love, so to speak, to get her to continue because she saw talent. To bad she didn't continue, I really liked her voice but I do understand how important being a parent is as well.
Oh, that’s too bad. She’s a brave and talented singer but I get it. I watched her audition and cringed at things said to her. I hope she pursues her singing goals, she is a darling gal with loads of energy and talent.🌷✨💙
ENOUGH THIS DRAMA!!! katy obviously dont mean nothing harm about her comment ist not about how she said it, its how you take it, you guys see's katy as if she's an evil now, Americans are so sensitive, focus on your energy on other things like (shooting in school), leave katy alone 😤
If it was that big of a deal, she should have said something about it on stage when she had the chance, but used her kids and family as an out. Now all of a sudden she's on TikTok saying she's mad at the joke... If you were mad at the joke you wouldn't have accepted the ticket to Hollywood and all the nice things the judges had to say about ya
From what I've read, the accusation of mom shaming is just not true. I have not seen the moment, but I think it's more than enough to say that it's absolutely made up...
It’s not mom shaming it was a joke, everyone these days need a villain to their story. She left because she missed her children, Kathy begged her to stay. She took someone’s place who would have died to get that chance.
She's not a good singer. It's not shaming, it's the truth. She wasted her life by having kids at a young age. What's sad is they are giving her a chance because they feel sorry for her and not because she deserves it.
“You’ve been lying on the table too much.” (3 kids had to be made some how). “You might need to leave because there’s many dreams behind you.” (She could have done more in life if she had no children).
This woman!!!! She's showing women that family first! The lie is that we need an identity outside of motherhood. Being a mother can make children into great adults or broken ones. Motherhood is the most impacting job and worthy of being an identity! This woman chose her babies before herself. That's worth more than any opportunity!
Bro. I don't think it's so much as SHAMING. But I do see Katy's POV because Sara Beth's hesitation when Katy asked 'Is this your DREAM?'. Because, if you're not firm on going down this path, might as well give this GOLDEN opportunity to someone who really WANTS it! Katy is not wrong and I don't blamed Sara Beth for her choice. The competition is fierce so appreciate the opportunity given because not everyone has that.
Doesn't Katy Perry leave her kid every day to work?? It's important to teach your children that self care and doing things for yourself are important, that you are a person, not just a mom.
Yeah tell yourself that when you are in the eldercare home oneday….people are more important than careers….ask all the 40 somethings desperate for a man and family….that career sure keeps you warm at night
Oh Lordy, it’s me 😂
We love and support you Sara!! We wish you the best of luck in everything ❤
You're awesome and as a 31 year old with a little boy who desperately wishes my husband and I have had more by now, I admire young moms like you so much! You deserved way better than that treatment and the pathetic "now that she's leaving, I'm going to pretend to be supportive" garbage.

Why is being a good mother "giving up"?! It's actually very hard and requires a lot of effort. People should recognize that
people make themselves parents though, they could’ve saved themselves the hardship..
@@xjessierm Well why do anything in life then, why bother? Most things worth pursuing in life are hard, if it's easy, it's probably not worth it.
@@xjessierm Being a parent is worthy of praise, not shame. How dare you? What gives you the right to be such an asshat?
The irony of some popstar telling a loyal mother she's been laying down too much.
And she’s got a single eye tattooed on her wrist. 🤮 The entertainment industry is full of satanic crap.
What's ironic about a true statement?
Especially one that started her career as a Christian singer who couldn't accomplish her goals and admittedly "sold her soul" for her fame and literally has slept her way to the top lol
Yeah it sounds like shes calling her slutty when shes the one who is
@@hotfudgecake Katy perry is probably laying in bed with people more than this woman ever had. That’s what ironic about it
One thing for sure is I bet she is a fun mother. What a nice woman! Her children are blessed!
She's a beautiful woman mom and just right for this Katy Perry watch out you have no idea who you're messing with she's going to sing and make her kids the happiest
Bless her for showing people it's OK to be normal. We don't have to be or look like a over rated pop star, we already are stars.
You're overrated.
True
She literally had no reason to go if she was going to drop out anyway. There are other celebs and musicians that are more overrated than Perry.
You will never regret putting your children first. Cherish every moment of them growing up.
It takes more courage to be a mother than to bail on your kids. Good on this mother. Motherhood is true beauty, not the false "beauty" that Katy Perry portrays.
Does it? They are infinitely more common. Felt like she let the fear and uncertainty get to her.
@@TWHowlYou have no idea the amount of courage it takes as mother to walk away from something you want so you get back to the people you love. And then have everyone form an opinion about your choices. They asked her what she wanted to do and she told them, that’s strong.
Lets be clear - if she decided to stay on the show that wouls not mean she was "bailing" on her kids. If she was the day you wouldn't say anything.
Poor girl she’s still so young and I can understand why she doesn’t want to leave her children behind hopefully in a few years she can try again🙏🏿🙏🏿

I am actually in agreement with her
She didn't leave for her children.🙄 She left because she's too sensitive and not star quality lmao
And hopefully Katy won’t be a judge
I don’t care what Katy Perry thinks. Being a mom is hard! Being a parent period is hard. There’s no quitting being a parent unless you give your child up completely and have nothing to do with them. This mother knew she needed to choose her kids over that life and to me she made the right choice.
Good for her. She'll get way more opportunities for what she just did instead of continuing with the show. She's got the talent. And now she's on her own terms. Well done!

Her children will see this when they are older and be so grateful how much their mother loved them.

Katy was doing damage control. I don’t feel her kind words were genuine.
Yeah maybe the second one after she knows what were saying about her !!

Adam Smith I agree!
She showed her cards during the audition when she said basically make up your mind what you want because "there are people who would lay down their life for this ticket"
I think it's obvious where Perry's heart is and I'm not surprised she loves herself as much as her kids.
Katy was the same one that said it wasn’t her dream and she didn’t want it enough…. Now she says to not give up 😑
I said the same she basically was telling her she wasn’t good enough then when she left she wanted to be all sad and shit
The irony 😮
@Yorker Hans when you tell someone that they're basically not good enough, regardless of who you are to them, it might actually stick. Some if not most people go about their lives hearing this over and over. Positivity leads to good things just like negativity can lead to bad. Not everyone can be a hell of a fighter everyday and never give up mostly to prove everyone wrong.
It's because Katy Perry knows she crapped over this girl's dreams and now she looks like an ass.
Don't underestimate her resiliency and inner strength.

I kinda agree. I feel like Katy has been an easy target to hate on. Cuz if this was ariana grande or Taylor, no one would come after her
The judges questioned if she even had a dream when all she said in the first audition was that she was processing.
It's because of what katy Perry said. She is just too nice to say this was the reason.

@Katyperry01230 You are welcome. I'm in Calgary Alberta. Thank you for giving Fire a fair chance after Kaya walked out on her.

I agree with you. The woman didn’t really want to be there! Katy asked if was her dream she said no. If she wasn’t ready she should go home & try again when she is ready!
I interpreted the table comment as sexual but I am a male who doesn't have a kid so I wouldn't have linked it up birthing.
It was a mean and nasty comment about laying in the table too many times! She might as well have said "you should've kept you knees together and you wouldn't be a young woman with 3 kids". she did a joke impusively she said to katy if u lay on the table im gonna pass out , and she used he same table word to make a in the moment joke...the contestant didn't looked bothered at all at that moment ...so its all drama
No she was just tryna play it cool. You could tell she wasn't comfortable and that's not right no matter what.
@@lauringrace1389 yea but she told Katy if you lay on the table im gonna pass out, like its discusting that u lay on a table so here comment could be interpreated has hurtfull aswell
I don’t understand what’s the fuss is all about
people are so sensitive nowadays
You walked away and showed that family is way more important than a tv-show
Have seen several of your videos and you do NOT belong in a tv show where artist tells you what you are..
There was no mom shaming here people are way too sensitive
Good for her!!
You are way too nice for Hollywood! If you are reading this, just know that you have a lot of respect from your fellow moms. You did the unselfish thing. You did what Jesus would have done. Katy Perry has lost her way. Keep being the humble, kind individual that you are!!
Sooo she made a comment that was “hurtful” but the same lady that made a “hurtful” comment sat there and tried to get you to stay cause she thought you where talented…
From one mom to another, you are showing them you’re brave AF!!!
Katy made a joke but was extremely sweet and supportive after. Idk why she spoke against Katy.
Katy was rude? Smt y’all fucking ridiculous
Ayeeeee a celebrity boot licker
Katie was not funny in this situation, and perhaps her inability to see this in sarabeth, shows her inexperience, but this is the world we live in unfortunately. If we could build up our brothers and sisters, this country would never be seeing these videos. Love yourself enough to be comfortable giving love to others!
People taking this too far. I didn’t see anything wrong with the joke. Stop being sensitive
Katy was just a pinch of what the industry is, if she couldn’t handle Katys comment, then she wont be ready for what comes with the success.
They didn't like this because it rubs their noses in the fact that people don't need their "industry" to find happiness, especially as most of the people in the "industry" are extremely unhappy.
Give me a break. I’ve heard much worse comments. She even tried to talk this girl into staying on. I’m a mom of 3 kids and thought if was funny.
Her voice is great!
Yeah Katy has dry eggs she can’t have no more kids also women are cruel in different ways while it seems like a joke in reality it means much worse
@@Captaiesqueleto True
@comment1ism866 Don’t you mean him Katy Perry is a transformer
I think it was more a self esteem thing and also mom guilt. Shes a beautiful soul and so talented and powerful
Katy was not shaming you. You weren’t ready & that’s ok but, don’t blame Katy!
Oh my god you’re so insensitive and ridiculous. Katy Perry isn’t god or royalty, she’s just one person who happened to get famous. There are plenty of amazing singers who never get anywhere.
Katy was belittling, demeaning and condescending.
@@earthwisdomhelps this is American idol. They’re judges....
@@earthwisdomhelpsanytime katy acts as a judge people always say this to her
But Katy was right, she only thought about her babies, she couldn't focus on stage.
You are right katty perry needs to publicley apologize
I don't think she was "mom-shaming" her, it appears to me Katy saw a huge potential from Sara Beth to do good on this competition and that's why she was passionate convincing her to stay. I was honestly rooting for her, I thought she's amazing. But at the end of the day, she made her choice and that is her Family and I admire her for that. I hope we'll see you again performing in the future. Xx
Yes she was you’re a guy you have no idea what mum shaming is
This is ridiculous.
@@phillipscott7049 like I said.. it's not what was said. It was how it was said...
KP nailed it. The lady did not want to be there. Even if she wasn't subject to mom shaming. Cut and gut it.
@Official Katy Perry 🎶 Love you KP. You are a force of nature. Homeless now and forgotten.
@Official Katy Perry 🎶 What ever you feel is right. Do not hold your feelings back for anyone. It is your choice.
@Official Katy Perry 🎶 You are a Superstar KP, don't you forget it. ❤❤❤
@Official Katy Perry 🎶 I sent a reply. Hope to hear from you soon.
I love katty perry but that was kinda rude of her🤨🤨
Just kinda?
I guess I’m lost? What was rude? lol can someone explain please?
SHE DOESNT NEED AMERICAN IDOL!!!! All her songs are complete bangers and she’s doing it on her own!!! N
Katy said a lot of good words said to her but people just keep on remembering a remark that is so obvious to be a joke. Hypocrites...
I'm team Sara Beth! Can we get an album?!
Oh, that’s too bad. She’s a brave and talented singer but I get it. I watched her audition and cringed at things said to her. I hope she pursues her singing goals, she is a darling gal with loads of energy and talent.🌷✨💙
I think you are right
ENOUGH THIS DRAMA!!! katy obviously dont mean nothing harm about her comment ist not about how she said it, its how you take it, you guys see's katy as if she's an evil now, Americans are so sensitive, focus on your energy on other things like (shooting in school), leave katy alone 😤
I like Katty as a Judge . She said nothing wrong. People need harsh facts..
It's stop to be a joke the moment your hurt someone else feeling and humiliate her ...
See how feminist say it’s just a joke but when someone makes a joke about they get mad
You’re delusional….or just lack empathy
She's not a good singer. It's not shaming, it's the truth. She wasted her life by having kids at a young age. What's sad is they are giving her a chance because they feel sorry for her and not because she deserves it.
Where was the mom shaming? Katy is right, if your heart isn't in it you can't be in this competition
Being a mom is the most important job in the world. That's why of the two genders the female is the most precious.
Yeah tell yourself that when you are in the eldercare home oneday….people are more important than careers….ask all the 40 somethings desperate for a man and family….that career sure keeps you warm at night
