    Good honest review & very nice car. Very similar interior to my new company car Skoda Octavia, I do 3,000 miles a month so ideal for that, get out as fresh as a daisy after a long drive. Although my old cars put a smile on my face, I would not fancy doing 3,000 miles a month in them.

      Well BB GUD onya for having 90's vehicles 👍and no I ain't gonna slag em off. I drive an '07 plate 2.5 litre V6 Lexus and I Love it even when it throws an electrical fault. It makes me smile every time I drive it whether slowly or like I stole it and being in my 60's I don't give a fuck 😊

    I hope there is a time in the future when it becomes cheap enough to convert our classics to hybrid, just for those city driving moments. If driving doesn't make you smile then what's the point. I love seeing dogs with their heads out the car window, they always seem happy.

      Don't think hybrid conversion. Think synthetic fuel or hydrogen conversion which are both very very possible.

    Can’t disagree with anything you said about my car Paul. It does everything well but doesn’t give the same satisfaction as driving with a smile on my face that my Rover 75 V6 Does. As a cheap to run daily car it suits my needs perfectly. I think if you had driven on some country roads you might have had a bit more fun in it as the handling is very very good.

    Typically VW. Much like my Polo GTi - extremely competent and lots to admire BUT it doesn't put a smile on my face the way my Rovers do. The flip side to that though is that it's yet to make me frown - unlike my Rovers which have on a few occasions 😂

    I had one of the previous generation of these as a holiday hire car. It was ok. I was under the impression that Seat were supposed to be Skodas with a bit of Latin temperament, rather like that Colombian lady in Modern Family but it was more Penelope Keith. Looks a bit Japanese to me, in the way it looks like they drew the basic shape of it and it was pleasant enough but then spent another 6 months mucking about with it stretching it or putting lines and slashes all over it. It is rather like a branch of Dixons in there which I used to think was quite fancy but I think in hindsight I prefer a more analogue experience. Vinyl records outsold CDs for the first time in ages last year so perhaps this return to a pleasurably flawed mechanical world will one day appear in cars. Buttons that button, switches that have a satisfying action to them. Those triangle windows in the back are my favourite part as they are completely pointless.

      It's good to see the work of Walter Maria de Silva still influencing this leon ,if only rover had come under the vag umbrella we could go down the dealers today and buy a rover car as good this as long as there wasn't a strike on . I have one as a family runabout and it Soaks up milage and is a go to turn key car my wife loves ,I also use it a lot and it means the old bikes and cars stay in the garage when its salty, its a shame we don't see more of de Silvas work on the road I think his alfas were some of there best,but love and peace to everyone who watched the video

    Another spot on conclusion, they are definitely worthy of respect from a practical and progressive point of view. But like you say, does it have an electric oil pump to keep the engine primed when it's off or is it jolted into life every time you put your foot down? To me it kind of looks like the new Corolla/Prius. Also don't forget.... Power stations have huge exhaust pipes with no catalytic converters 😅

    Some maniacal pseudo 'slap-bass' music on the intro there! 😀
    I've never driven a modern hybrid but I think one good thing about driving this one is you don't have to look at it as it goes by! It seems virtually all modern cars have their appearance based on the slightly varying expressions of a far-Eastern mime artist!
    I do like proper, simple old fashioned switches. I bemoan my own car's lack of physical controls for the heater but this Seat doesn't even have a gear-knob! Instead it looks as though they got the gear switch from a 1980s Amstrad cassette deck!
    Of course the appearance and switches etc are not just this particular car but the way things are. The most positive thing I can say about the general looks of modern cars is they at least serve to make older cars look all the more stylish!
    Another great PN review by the way!

    These car's don't float my boat at all am VAG man but the new one's as far as am concerned are very much a like they have charisma hybrid side it i like even less. They save we are saving the planet but I disagree with that the batterys have to be mined out of a mine where they use big diesel trucks and diggers. Yesterday I followed a tesler I was in my Diesel Audi he was doing 20 mph in a 40mph this made me rather displeased. Then when he got to the 30mph he started to do 40mph. I thought to myself I wonder if he knew where all lithium had come from for his car. This made me 😂😂😂 for a while. Enjoyed the video as always 😊

  • @sydsnott5042
    @sydsnott5042 Год назад +3

    Good video. You mentioned the look of that false VW Golf regarding the angular looks. Angular looks on cars are a blatant copy of Lexus. Nuff sed about that.
    OMG you 'kind of' slagging off diesels. OMG. You however love the economy of the diesel you love. Yes you love after its tuned ECU.
    A good few years back I test drove a VW Golf GTE Hybrid. By fuk I was impressed. It took off like a scolded cat. Better than a Lexus Hybrid I had at the time but fuk me Expensive.
    As for turbo cool down period. Its all down to electronics within the car. No problem with the turbos but the gearboxes of the VW's tubo hybrids or just turbos well there's nuff sed bout how bad they are.

    • @ProjectNigel
      @ProjectNigel  Год назад +2

      Ah that's interesting about the turbo, I assumed it was a case of 'it's only made to last until the warranty expires' idea
      These DSG gearboxes are pretty amazing, but I would prefer a manual for when it goes wrong

    I hate the stop start function on my golf r for that reason; are vital components being starved of oil especially when the engine is cold 🤷‍♂️ first thing i turn off when i get in, and considering getting a plug in harness to disable it permanently lol had a hybrid tiguan courtesy car recently, did like it for the daily duties but wouldn't be paying the ££££ for it 👍

    Volkswagen CANNOT do character! 😅 They do cars that look great on paper. If someone asked you there wouldn't be a reason for not to buy one. It just doesn't excite an enthusiast though. I like Fords. Not the most recent models. The slightly older ones I do enjoy driving though, and they are sensible too. You should try one. 😊

    • @SoGood_Racing

       @ProjectNigel haha yea but sadly not.
      Excuse my nerdiness for a moment but ama rant a bit. It wont work because your audience demographic are people who are in to cars and old rovers.
      It could work however say if you had a video using the trending topic of Andrew Tate in a way that relates back to your audience but also other people.
      So say for example one of tates famous lines where is said to a dude who didn't own a Bugatti "WHAT COLOURS YOUR BUGATTI"
      You could have a video title right there but with your own funny rover twist to it for example, such as "WHAT COLOURS YOUR ROVER" which is comical, funny and involves your viewers who are in to rovers but also widens your audience demographic to more people.
      Then for a thumbnail a picture of Andrew Tate with an expression of either anger or clear happiness or excitement which triggers more clicks if its done properly, as it gives the video a sense of emotion for the viewer.
      This could be done with a clear large picture of him in the left of the thumbnail towards the top quarter where the viewers often naturally glance first in a Z pattern. then in the right you could have a colorful equally closeup standing out Rover also with tates facial expression stand out making the viewer more likely to click the video.
      Ok rant over hope this helped.
