I think all your contents are so helpful and precious for all the people in love with languages and polyglots. Thank you Robin! Hope one of your next videos will be in Italian 💟
I understood this fairly well. Even though I haven’t studied Spanish since 1977. I hope the French I’m trying to learn now will still be with me in 2063!
Other 'project ideas': -Binge watch a series (or a youtuber's backlist since they use more slang /try Auronplay: for spanish learners/) -Do one of those 30 days journaling (use Journaly!) you can find promps on pintrest and write even a small paragraph just make it a daily thing. -Pick a favorite book of your and reread it in your target language while listening to the audiobook (i'm doing this with Harry potter rn)
I'm a spanish native speaker, and i have to say your spanish and accent are very good! I think you sound like a native speaker, your accent it's like one. You are inspiration Robin! I would like to see your video complete, but i have homework omg
Your Spanish is fine (I mean what do I know - I’m an American intermediate learner) but the ideas are what keep me hooked. I was once fluent in German after studying a year in Berlin, and now and then check out some vocabulary, do Duolingo, read this or that and it goes nowhere. But finding short projects with an END - and also recording them - is so smart. Ich werde es versuchen! ¡Gracias por todo!
Russian language expert, linguist, and polyglot, who studies 13 LANGUAGES, speaks 6 languages, lectures at Moscow universities. I highly recommend his video. His channel is called Linguamus.
I clicked on the video and I was definitely not expecting to listen to you speaking Spanish but damn, it was a nice surprise! As a native Spanish speaker I don't just appreciate you have been learning and studying the language but I'm genuinely impressed by how fluent and well articulated you are! Congratulations! Saludos desde México 😊
More videos in Spanish, por favor. I understood most of this, glancing at the subtitles. I found you several months ago and enjoy your approach. I love coffee and cozy! Gracias.
First, congratulation for your spanish. Second, congratulation for spotting this learning method and for addressing our attention to it. FYI: using "personal small projects" for learning a new programming language or a new software framework is a well-known and widely-used learning method for computer programmers (like me). We often use a small "hobby" project as an opportunity to learn a new tool and for practicing it. Sometime, we use it for human languages, as well. For example, we have the habit to write articles and documentation in english (even if we normally do not speak english as our native language) and sometime we prepare videos and/or "talks" in that language. It is a very effective method and your absolutely right at suggesting it.
I really like the content on your channel!!!
Hi Robin. I am still fascinated with the 'Podcast Interview' method. I'm also reading French children's books in PDF format which are helping me BIG TIME and i just created a Journaly account :) . Keep it up with your great conten and thanks again! :).

Nice Spanish + good idea! I had the same problem (also with Spanish) I personally "solved it" by adding to my life some regular activities I'm doing only in Spanish (like watching a specific series in Spanish, writing down my ideas in Spanish, etc.)
My favourite method for maintaining languages is singing. It's an activity that does double duty, lifting your mood and improving lung capacity. Does anyone have recommendations for Spanish rock or metal songs, that are easy to sing? Something like Saratoga's Acuerdate de Mi, for instance?
Ay Dios mío! No había podido ver el vídeo! Excelente!
@@MatrixCoder01 he simply speaks more fluently .... when I speak, I wonder, sometimes I stutter and my statements are less consistent. Although I undoubtedly know my mother tongue twice as much as he does Spanish. Fluency, when supported by the minimum knowledge required , is an oratorical rather than a linguistic skill.
Saludos 🖖! 🇲🇽
But what to do if my target languages are very similar and I can't study them at the same time, cause it messes with my head? I have a decent level in spanish and I've just started learning portuguese. And it seems to me, I'll have to completely stop my spanish learning for the time being :(
I have been trying to learn my language of choice for years and still I am stuck on phrases, no conversations. My attention span is just too dang short. And especially as I get older I am bored quickly on too many grammar rules. I like the idea of making small projects to see better progress and not to have so much focus on the rules. I will adapt a reasonable program from his advice. Starting with just two day a week solely focusing on that language. For example, day one I will speak to myself in the language, listen to recordings for new words as I build vocabulary and make longer sentences. Day 2 read a short article or paragraphs from a book (can't do a chapter) and write a brief summary of my journal noting my comprehension; and 30 minutes to 1 hour of a movie or news program and again note the comprehension in my journal. Ready to kick off this light program with 2 days a week and see I quickly I will increase on the schedule and progress. Again due to short attention span, I will first make great efforts to commit to 2 months first.
Maybe you are expecting too much too soon Sammy. Patience is the key. Take smaller bites and don't get hung up on grammar. Think of short sentences of things you want to say, things that matter to you . And remember that you are attempting to learn a language whilst millions sit in front of a TV and learn nothing ! Learning a language is not a sprint, it's a marathon !

Okay, this is great practice for you, and really cool for Spanish speakers since I'm sure your followers are not all English speakers, but this is unwatcahgable for me. I had a stroke that makes me unable to move my eyes. So though I grew up loving foreign films in high school, the only ones I can watch now are in French (or UK/Australian/etc. films of course), because I cannot watch a video and read subtitles at the same time, and I certainly can't keep up with the words at your normal cadence of speaking and *definitely* can't even TRY at 1.25 or 1.5 times speed, as I sometimes watch videos these days. So I had to stop watching, which is unfortunate.
