ABC TV's graphics are always better than the rest of the Aussie television, because it's public, corporate and financial to the australian government! Those graphics just makes it look more like an european TV than american, in which most of the networks in Australia have based of.
Yeah! I also find it cool that they have an international channel too (along with a separate international version of iView, their catch-up TV service), 'ABC Australia', which happens to be made up mostly of news, but does also have some other interesting stuff. I live in Singapore, where the channel is available on both pay TV providers here. Sure, they licence a lot of the good entertainment stuff to other companies (the ABC had licenced out various ABC For Kids programmes to Disney for non-Australian broadcasting and streaming for years), but I believe that's for the wider reach, since I think the ABC Australia channel is mainly available across Asia Pacific, however, they do still broadcast some interesting stuff they wouldn't have been able to licence out to other broadcasters.
@@kbhasi Really? I didn't know you could get the ABC in SG? We get CNA is AUS but only via RUclips. Both are a bit similar in my opinion but also quite different.
@@beachbungalowscarborough1006 Yes, but just their one international channel and only on pay TV. The version of CNA viewers receive outside Singapore is the international feed, via RUclips, the CNA website, and it seems to also be available on Fetch TV based on what I saw in another video. That international feed has different ad breaks to hide promos for programming on other Mediacorp TV channels, as well as advertising for local companies, and some programmes are replaced due to licencing restrictions that would only allow them to broadcast them within Singapore, but CNA's own programming should be watchable on the international feed. To be fair, CNN, Fox News, and Sky News (UK) all do a similar thing with their international feeds, whereas the BBC just has a separate international news channel. Here in Singapore, I get CNA's domestic feed, which also means I can watch it over the air here without pay TV.
ABC News is stately and the theme is lovely, very modern and European looking. I don't like Seven and Nine, seem extremely over the top, local ambulance-chasing American news (yes, I know, NBC and Eyewitness, but still, they're national channels). @@JayJayFilmbox Well, the majority of Asian TV has a different style of intro and music melody like Malaysia, Philippines or Indonesia but not Japan, the japanese always know how to make news in a very stylish, charming and futuristic vibe to it, but the music... meh, it's not that "newsy" and urgent kind of style we all accept the most, but it still has an anime-like and videogame feel to it, in which I love so much since as a kid! Sadly, we don't have music and intros like these in my country, Brazil... :(
Good to see Tassie on the list as 7 news Tasmania is one of the most watched news there. Oddly enough John hunt who is in the spencer gulf one actually is a reporter for 7 news tas now
I never thought I'd see this! I live in Singapore and sometimes get to travel to Perth to stay with some family members for the holidays (not during the pandemic 🙃), so I'm accustomed to seeing the Perth news bulletins and their openings, but I never thought I'd get to see the other regional openings! (5:33) I imagine they say 'Queensland' instead of 'Brisbane' in order to compensate for the Gold Coast.
Each state's capital city bulletin is usually played to the whole state, so you can be in the middle of nowhere NSW and see the "Sydney" bulletin (delayed until after the local news). Just seems to be a weird matter of convention that they always label Brisbane's differently to the others. All the networks have done it for ages. Maybe because Queensland is relatively decentralised??
Yes and no - identity is a bit different up there... because of how large and populous Brisbane city is... which is an unusual thing in Australian local government... and the rich history of all the separate areas... those on the outskirts of Brisbane city itself (like Ipswich, Redcliffe, the Redlands) can and do call themselves staunchly "not Brisbane". And that's without talking about the Gold and Sunshine Coasts too as you say, which are both signal overlap areas and get two sets of stations (however redundant that has been since the 1990s). The unifying thread of identity instead is that they're Queenslanders, and thus the term "South-East Queensland" came to be used instead of "Greater Brisbane". Identifying as a "Brisbane" bulletin may well end up a turn-off to some.
Love your channel ! 👏 Will you do France at all ? I stayed in Paris for a week just before the Covid 19 situation and their news look absolutely stunning, probably the best I’ve seen in Europe ! would be curious to see a compilation 😉 (I’ve seen some great stuff in northern Belgium too, think it was in dutch though...)

I’m an American and for some reason the News Seven soundtracks sounds familiar to our NBC Nightly News Soundtrack . Is it only me?
It's the same theme called The Mission by John Williams. NBC commissioned it in the 1980s and soon after Seven News bought the rights to use it.
