I like this little montage. This racing series was so popular back in the day that kids could buy h o scale slot car versions of these machines and race against eachother in garages and basements year 'round. I used to buy cars made by a company called AURORA, their A/FX brand were so faithful to the real trans-am series, our dads would watch, and then race against eachother to the delight of us kids. We would see the real thing on ABC's Wide World of Sports, then experience the thrill of motorsports competition vicariously with our toy racecar sets. Those were some really fun times growing up in the early '70s.
Trans Am should be more popular than it is. The have stock bodies in other works they look like street cars. People can easily identity the car they're looking at.
At the 13-14 second mark it shows a Gold #4 Camaro starting a race....I think this is a picture of the first 67 Z/28 that was built and is now owned by Jon Mello and has been restored.
How great would it have been to live in this era, the great muscle car age… now its moving to EV crap, and I am not happy. Dodge just announced the charger and challenger wont be produced past 2024😢

Yup! There was 2 different classes. There was the Under 2.0 Litre class, which the Alfa’s, Porsche’s, BMW’s, Datsun 510’s and a few others raced in. It was an incredible class to watch as well! Then there was the Under 5.0Litre class. Obviously this is where the Mustang’s, Camaro’s, Javelins, Challenger’s and Pontiac T/A’s raced. It was an amazing sight to watch those races. Now it’s no longer a 2 class, and the cars are definitely not modified production vehicles with mighty engines! They’re silhouette GT cars that barely resemble the stock vehicles. Which are pretty amazing cars but not like the original T/A series cars!
Great footage ruined by stupid and completely unnecessary music. If I watch a music video I don't want it ruined by the sound of revving engines either!!!

REAL racing! I had a bright yellow 70' Boss 302 and I took every turn back home like the Trans Am teams...
1:27 Damn! I never seen anyone fishtailing into their pit box like Mark Donahue did in that Penski Javelin. Amazing driver.
