- On 3 December 2024, the UN General Assembly adopted resolution deciding that the High-Level International Conference on the peaceful settlement of the Question of Palestine and the implementation of the Two-State solution will take place at UN Headquarters in New York from 2 to 4 June 2025.
The conference will be aimed at adopting "an action-oriented outcome document" in order "to urgently chart an irreversible pathway towards the peaceful settlement of the Question of Palestine and the implementation of the two-State solution." 157 member states voted in favor of the resolution, 8 voted against and 7 abstained.

As an Argentinian I can tell you that the vast majority of the people of Argentine do not have a serious opinion on the subject, the president's position on foreign policy is not supported by Congress and his victory in the last elections was due above all to a constant national economic crisis, specifically inflationary. Furthermore, Argentina has historically been characterized by openly anti-Semitic episodes; during the last dictatorship in the 1970s, almost 1,500 Jews were "disappeared" and the Argentine military boasted of providing "special treatment" to Jews in their torture chambers. Our current president is a fervent defender of the genocidal military of that dictatorship so you can begin to get an idea of his mental condition. On the other hand, the attacks on the AMIA and the Israeli embassy in the 90s (a total of 108 Argentines were murdered) did too much damage in the public opinion about the Middle East to be able to address the issue objectively.

Your current president does however appear to be quite ignorant of even the basics regarding the historical context of the situation and with his "intention" to locate Argentinas Embassy in Jerusalem is, in my opinion, proof of this. One hopes that there are more Argentinians like yourself, who can think for themselves. I sincerely hope your country is able to survive the current situation without damaging your democracy..... because we all know what this can lead to.👍
