most underrated art style in the series. Can't believe so many people slam it, this game looks gorgeous. It's just the recycled in-battle animations that lack a sense of liveliness, the rest is solid Gold
These are my favorite pokemon switch games tbh not because they’re extraordinary games but just because how bad I think the other ones are (I still am playing legends arceus opinion could change)
I played this with the same team as Ash has for most of the time and not going for type advantages constantly. Its a bit more fun like that, i also played Yellow like that. I played RedBlue and remakes more to my own
Proud to see you still trucking pushing out this excellent content for everyone to chill out to. It'll catch. Give it time. I think the name "Drunkview" might be hurting you in the algorithm, just a thought!
I mean, I don't doubt that but the drunkviews are to an extent filler content anyway. They're quick and dirty movie reviews that occassionally benefit from coming out early. Been a messy few months so im glad to finally have LGPE worked out so I can take a (kinda) break from Pokemon
Also there are slight nods to the anime much like Yellow: For example, Cerulean Gym has three trainers, all bikini girls, you fight before Misty. The interesting thing is their names. First you have a battle with Lily, the Violet, then Daisy. With Daisy being the oldest, Violet the second oldest and Lily being the second youngest. For those who don't know these are Misty's sisters who appeared in the anime only once or twice and are exclusive to the anime. The programmers could have at least colored their hair differently to match their anime counterparts.
I think the biggest problem of Let's Go is Kanto.. because how many times we need to visit Kanto again. Let's Go in Hoenn or in Unova would be much more interesting. But overall this is one of the better Pokemon games in the last years.
never played lets go, but i like how certain areas in these games have uniquely designed interiors, like the CopyCat's bedroom, for example. these really are nice looking games; I think they nail that classic pokemon art style in terms of body proportions and stuff. Makes me wish we could have gotten a new story in Kanto and in a more traditional game so that it could have shined a bit more. For what it is, it seems a charming game though :>
I agree. I think it's probably the best Pokémon has ever looked. Sun and Moon had a few really nice areas but ran like a legless man. A lot of care clearly went into making these games look both faithful and fresh.
This guy’s retrospectives are some of my favorite content on RUclips. And LGPLGE are my favorite Pokémon games. Such a chill way to play through gen 1. Lack of random encounters is objectively a positive change. Ppl complained about the lack of wild battles but in reality how enjoyable is it to use false swipe and yawn before throwing a ball?
I mean False Swipe and Yawn are making the games boring for yourself in the same way that using Legendaries can- you have so many options if you follow the path of least residtance of course it becomed a cakewalk- you gotta choose to naje it interesting and LGPE lacks that element. I still like it as a really laif back little game tho
I don't really think it's an isekai, the intro's just kinda quirky. The way I understand it is that it's just an alternate universe retelling, and in that world Red & the others already went on their journey ahead of time, Rocket-free
Honestly, I think the Let's Go Games are beautiful everything looked stunning. I liked our bond with Pikachu/Eevee and walking Pokemon, I also enjoyed the connections to the future Johto Games, but the problem is..... I'M NOT A POKEMON GO FAN!!!!! I hate that Game. I was pretty sad it wasn't just a updated Pokemon LeafGreen or FireRed combined with Pokemon Yellow. Even though i'm not a Pokemon Go Fan I did buy Let's Go Pikachu and enjoyed it, though after finishing the Game I sold it pretty quick and brought Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild instead and still have it. Not once did Let's Go Pikachu make me want to play Pokemon Go and get addicted to microtransactions, which I think that was the point of these Games. I'm pretty sure Blue tells you he went on his journey not long before you did and in this we're just taking on Team Rocket instead, personally I headcanon Trace and Chase are the younger brothers of Red and Blue who are following their brothers. I'm just wondering, will you be doing Legends: Arceus? I don't know about you, but for me the Game revived my love for Pokemon after Sword & Shields midness.
@@aster4jaden Should XD, DPPt, and BDSP are all ahead of it but I'm optimistic that Arceus itself should have fairly quick turnaround after BDSP given its contained nature
"Idiotproof" 😂. Never played this game (like the art style though), so i didn't knew the catching mechanic for this game. Great video man. Take you're time with the next one Oh man the alola digglet/trio and persian design are just plain ugly.
the alolans are mixed bag. Diglett and Persian are dreadful, but then ones like Exeggutor are really cool. Is what it is, sometimes you get Mr. Mime sometimes you get Nidoking.
As a full grown adult who picked the game up and loved it , I think people were just too harsh on it. It's a completely fun remake of the OG games and holds it's own as a nice playthrough. Most people that complained didn't even try it.
@@benamisai-kham5892 Yeah I kinda agree, just nostalgia of the old games. Which means it was aimed at adults, but ofcourse all the Let go parts are just to make it easy for those playing it on their phone. Either way it was the old game but a bit different and thats what I wanted. Plus it helps get a lot of that gen on the new console and their games if you use the pokemon home system.
Lets Go are gorgeous. I can only hope future games or remakes can adopt a style as prerty as this. Shield is also gorgeous but the more demanding style and fidelity makes certain areas have bad performance or graphics...
weird that the Ghost Marowak isn't an Alolan Marowak. Kinda feels weird one is a Ghost Type and the other is just a Ghost. I find it disappointing the designers of this game didn't give Meowth the ability to speak considering that is the most iconic feature of its character. It shows the designers don't pay attention to the anime and only added the characters because of "memorability". If they cared, Jessie and James would also have Licketurn and Victreebel.
I mean, the Marowak was killed by Rockets, presumebly in Rock Tunnel- an Alolan Marowak would be a but on the nose imo. The game also has a really weird stance on the anime and manga- certain elements seem to draw from them, like the existence of Green as a character, but also kinda draw the line at what Yellow did- Jesse and James are direct anime rips, but they were in Yellow as some random dudes with a Koffing and Ekans. Gamefreak has very little actual interaction with rhe anime, as I understand, it's mostly left to TPC, the marketing end, so I imagine the actual staff cares little for what the anime does, especially as by 2018 its popularity had long waned.
Anyone who says that Pokémon has never had voice acting before needs to write a formal apology letter to Ikue Otani and Aoi Yuki. It’s *leagues* more than just repeating “Pikachu” or “Eevee” over and over again. These performances are fantastic, even if they’re essentially cute animal noises.
especially in the anime. they could've given up years ago and reused sound clips for Pikachu but they're still at it, writing for different inflections and characterizing meaning and intent through performances- that's some dedication even if I don't like the anime.
I'm still pissed at how BDSP handled following Pokemon when the Let's Go games came out around 3 years before BDSP.

I can't believe I missed that
We could have gotten the pikachu key gathering scene in the rockets base in every city to really make this game unique. So many missed opportunities

You gonna keep doing these for more 3DS games? I’m replaying a lot now to try to transfer stuff before Bank goes away. On HGSS now
Yes! Going gen by gen so next is Diamond/Pearl for main games
Mega mewtwo Y actually gives me more of a Majin Buu vibe. Specifically kid Buu because mewtwo gets smaller and has a head tail/tentacle
