A Train Ride at the Conwy Valley Railway Museum, Betws-Y-Coed 2023

It's the end of May 2023 and i'm back at Betws-Y-Coed, Wales. This time i pay a visit to the Conwy Valley Railway Museum. Not a large place but very interesting, and with a wonderful 7 1/4 inch gauge miniature railway that runs for a mile in length, using loops & running both ways along sections of line. On this upload we see the diesel loco Gwydir Castle in operation at various points around the site plus experience a ride on the train around the full circuit. It's a pity the tram line there doesn't run anymore.... Never been on it sadly.....

It's been a few years since I went there but that looks really run down and the tramway looks like it hasn't been used in a very long time. Still, nice to see it again.

The tramway hasn't run for around 8 years, since a storm brought the wires down. And yes, it does look past its prime and in need of a re-vamp. But at least the miniature train is as good as ever......

Tramway out of use the roof of tram has collapsed and fallen trees block access to the shed. Some tram poles still in place as is the track. I visited today for an update
