Rihanna has REALLY improved over the years. Although I've recently realized that Rihanna's songs are very difficult to sing, I've seen "better singers" than Rihanna struggle singing her songs. The thing about Rihanna is that she has very unique voice, whereas Jennifer has the "stereotypical strong country voice" something that doesn't dimish her talent, but makes her a bit less interesting to hear, she's still a great singer.
Just an observation, but at 46 sec. Jennifer puts her hand behind her back (I can only assume) to adjust the volume up on Her mic, so if Rihanna felt that her mic volume was low, and or Jennifer was overpowering her she could very easily have adjusted the volume on Her mic, But, Who knows maybe she Didn't feel like Jennifer was overpowering or out-singing her, Rihanna maybe could have even felt out of her comfort zone as she was singing with a Country singer. 🤷♀️ Just My thoughts. 😁✌

Jennifer Nettles represents a durable musical talent that made her skyrocket to the top. She is a superstar. Watch her on Duets where her talents shine. In this performance, Rihanna got lost at the beginning - maybe mike, maybe not but with Jennifer by her side, she recouped and did fine.
