  • @medcardman
    @medcardman 4 года назад +31

    You have a young mans mentality man so it’s not your fault, but just a few things.
    1. Your finger size has nothing to do with your testosterone levels lmao. People who don’t understand how things work make some strange claims sometimes lol.
    2. It’s easy to be in your early 20’s and think that age doesn’t affect you. Just wait until you’re that age before you speculate lmao.
    3. You don’t understand that you have an advantage in your niche the same way Greg does in his. The same way a kid growing up bowling is better at bowling than a rock climber, and visa versa. Sure anybody can learn new things, but when you’re young and develop your body to benefit your niche in particular, you will have an inherent advantage.

    • @ttwgtgs2593
      @ttwgtgs2593 4 года назад +5

      I agree with you on #1, but for #2: Austin isn't saying you won't get weaker with age.
      He's just saying 40-50 years isn't all that old.
      You won't lose all your strength at once by that age. If you actually look at Greg's training videos you'll see he's still a whole lot stronger than most people in your gym too.
      As for #3 that analogy doesn't sense. There's no carryover between rock climbing and bowling. Zééro.
      He didn't ask Greg to do 90 degree handstand pushups.
      He challenged him to fairly basic calisthenic movements and showed us in the same video how a non-calisthenic athlete can easily do em

    • @scooberton8948
      @scooberton8948 4 года назад

    Nah, you’re not a clout chaser... I did comment that on his video... But, it was really just a inside joke that’s popular in the Coach Greg community...
    I mean, shit, you had hella clout already... like, you built a hell of a following without ever even collaborating with anybody, or, trying to hop on another youtubers coattails... from what I can tell, you didn’t even start doing that until you already had a following and people started requesting it... that’s admirable, in my opinion.
    Keep up the hard work, mane!
    Maybe, you could try talk to contact Coach Greg and see what his weaknesses are and then come up with a challenge he could actually try without risking further injury...

    Btw I am in the army, and I have seen one of your videos on why you even began. Watching your videos, I am gonna get through that pt test like nothing and the ait. The thing is a lot of guys have “normal” test levels even lower than 639. A lot of guys have less than 400 and have a hard time building muscle and staying lean. Some guys have more but aromatize a lot of it to estrogen or their shbg binds it all up. The best thing to do is also get a free testosterone test as well. Then you’ll see what you’re actually working with. Get E2 checked and shbg checked. Along with your prostate markers.

    • @DougDimmaDab
      @DougDimmaDab 4 года назад +1

      This, gotta know how much free testosterone you have as that’s what will really matter

    • @hurlentropy6866
      @hurlentropy6866 3 года назад +1

      Androgen sensitivity plays a larger role. My traps are very sensitive, which is why they explode with minimal work. Also, my traps and back are often covered in acne. If my sensitivity was low, this would not be possible despite a T level of 940 ng/dl (free T = 16.6 ng/dl: range = 5-20). My DHT level is also high, which helps antagonize estrogen to promote vascularity and muscle definition. it is never a good idea to take hair loss products such as finasteride unless you want to have higher estrogenic activity. To combat E2, try prunes, brussels sprouts, and white mushrooms.

    • @urmenior
      @urmenior 4 года назад +3

      Yeah that's simply it, you are more prone to injuries in your 40s than in your 20s. Other than that, when it comes to strength feats, you can do most of the things you did when you were younger. You just have to train smarter. I mean if you have poor genetics you can be more prone to injuries in your 20s than many people will be in their 40s. 40 is not old, people act like it is 70. And nowadays everyone wants to be an elite athlete, pushing their bodies to the extreme too much too soon and break their bodies in mid 30s. That's not age, that's overuse and buildup of injuries, pretty much meaningless unless you're making millions from it.
